Development Update
The preparatory work is now completed on the new field. This has included the removal of all trees and shrubs, the crushing of all the concrete paths and the recovery of all the service ducting and all the electric lamp posts.
While the original intention was to have the field prepared and sown by the latest the end of September, this unfortunately did not happen with the recent wet weather intervening. The site is now closed until early spring 2023 when hopefully this phase of the develpment will be completed.
The drone footage below on the link below gives a great overview of how MacDonagh Park now looks with the new hurling wall and views of the new field – thanks to Shane Hennessy for this footage.
We are asking that those who still intend to financially support this phase of the project by joining our Membership programme do so as soon as possible by contacting any club officer or committee member for more information. Donations can also be made electronically – bank details below.
Please be sure to include your details if transferring money to this dedicated fundraising account and notify Anne Kennedy or John Tooher to advise of the transfer in order for receipts and membership data to be updated.

Laochra Gael
Congratulations to Tony Tierney who was honoured with a Laochra Gael GAA award this year – the awards were presented in the Dome in Thurles on Sunday last.
Tony hurled for many years with Nenagh Éire Óg and was on the North Final winning senior teams in 1957 and 1964, playing in goals in ’57 and midfield in’ 64. Tony continued to hurl for the club into the 70s and remained involved over the years as coach/selector to many teams when his playing days were over. He was selector on the North Final winning team of 1992 and remains a great supporter of the club attending many club games.
Tony has given great service to Nenagh Éire Óg over the years and this award is richly deserved, a great honour for himself and his family. Congratulations to Tony from all in Nenagh Éire Óg.
