Co Development League Silver (12 a side) Final – Nenagh Éire Óg 2-10 Burgess Duharra 4-0
Our girls played some fantastic camogie to end their season with a win in their league final.
With a strong cross-field breeze, the Nenagh girls started strongly and were soon 1-2 to 0-0 up, following a great catch, turn and strike from Laura Gleeson. Nenagh dominated the first half thanks to some strong running and scoring from Player of the Match Sailí O’Connor and we went in 2-4 to 0-0 up at half time.
Burgess came out fighting and in a ten minute period after half time, they found the net 4 times, with no reply from Nenagh. Moving Laura Gleeson from full forward to half back steadied the ship for Nenagh and through some great play from the forwards, we picked off our points to pull clear and win by four points. Thanks and hard luck to the Burgess girls for a great game.

After the game, Gráinne O’Leary Co Development Officer presented Nenagh captain Sailí O’Connor with the cup. A big thank you also to Cleary’s JKC Toymaster who provided well-deserved celebratory ice creams after the game.

Great progress was made inserting slit trenches at one metre centres. picture and video below gives an idea of the progress.

Best of luck to the girls and management.
We failed to continue our scoring momentum in the second half and despite some heroic defending by our backs, Newport tacked on the scores to win by 4 points 2-11 to 4-03. Best of luck to Newport in the final.
The club would like to thank all of the panel for how they have trained and played all year and for how they behave and conduct themselves on and off the field. Coming up a division from C to B was never going to be easy but they worked hard and reached a league final, topped their championship group and sadly lost the semi-final, but not without a great fight.
A big thanks to all the coaches – Michael, James, Ella and the 2 Michelle’s – for all their great work during the year.
Special thanks also to Criona, Breda, Paula and the 2 Caitriona’s for the great care they have shown to the girls during matches and training.

On Saturday U13A team played Kilruane in the North Final in Dolla. Kilruane led from the start and we couldn’t get out in front. Having trailed by a point at half time and aided by the breeze there was reason for optimism. A great start to the second half by Kilruane had us chasing the game. Our Under 13 boys had a very busy week, on Tuesday, all three teams played Newport in MacDonagh Park.
In the D match, after a great battle the teams couldn’t be separated. In the C match Newport were too strong for our boys, to their credit the boys battled to the end. Congratulations to our senior hurlers who were crowned North senior hurling champions for the second year in a row on Saturday evening last in Dolla. In a tight game throughout, Nenagh won out by 4 points defeating Kiladangan on a scoreline of 21 points to 17.

On Sunday morning, our Blue team played Annacarty in their Shield Final. This team have been building to a crescendo all season and saved a great performance for the final. They went at it from the start, using the space intelligently, and defending well when necessary. We led 2-3 to 2-1 at half time, but despite facing the wind in the second half, the girls played some fantastic heads-up camogie. We outscored our opponents to win out 4-5 to 4-1.
