Minor Football

Well done to our minor football team, who defeated Newport GAA Club on Saturday on the UL astro, winning 2-9 to 2-7. Michael MacCloone proved decisive with a goal in each half, while Cian Clarke added an excellent two pointer from a first half free. Rhys Cottrell delivered a strong performance between the posts with several fine saves. Additional scores came from Michael Ryan, Adam Quigley, Aodhán Tucker and Éanna Tucker, who each contributed a point. Overall, it was a confident and disciplined team display, capped by MacCloone’s impressive 2-3, including one free.
NOTIFICATION OF AGM
Notice is hereby given that Nenagh Éire Óg will hold its Annual General Meeting on Wednesday, December 10th at 7pm in the Abbey Court Hotel.
Nomination and motion forms along with the agenda will be issued next week.

Annual Camógie Quiz Fundraiser
Our annual Camógie Quiz Fundraiser took place on Friday night and was a great success with an excellent turnout. Sincere thanks to everyone who attended, to our many generous sponsors who provided prizes for the quiz and raffle and to Figgerty’s Pub for kindly hosting the event.

We are very proud of Grace O’Brien, who was nominated for an All Star at the PWC Camogie All Star Awards held on Saturday the 15th in Croke Park. A wonderful achievement Grace.
Minor Camogie Medal Presentation

The minor camogie team with management and coaches at their medal presentation celebration in the Thatched Cottage.
On Saturday night our Minor Camogie team, winners of the County Minor B Championship last August, were presented with their medals in The Thatched Cottage, Ballycommon. Thank you to all the parents who joined us for the celebration and to the staff at the Thatch for their warm hospitality.
Under-15 Girls Semi Final
Best of luck to our under-15 girls who finished second in their league group and now look forward to their semi final next Sunday the 23rd of November.
Gaelscoil Nenagh Football Final
Good luck to to all our Gaelscoil Nenagh girls that are playing in the LGFA final against Bunscoil Na Cathrach, Cahir in Fethard on Tuesday.

Padel Tennis Planned for Nenagh Éire Óg’s New Sporting Facilities in Stereame

Nenagh Éire Óg has announced plans to introduce padel tennis to its new state-of-the-art sporting facilities in Stereame, Nenagh
A planning notice published in this week’s Nenagh Guardian outlines the proposed installation of three modular and portable padel tennis courts, complete with artificial grass surfaces, 4-metre perimeter fencing and 6-metre integrated LED lighting
The project is part of Padel 100 Ltd’s nationwide initiative to develop 100 padel courts across Ireland, with Nenagh Éire Óg included among the early locations
Padel blends elements of tennis and squash and is typically played in doubles on a smaller enclosed court. The sport is known for its accessibility and fast-paced social appeal, and has seen rapid global growth
If approved, the development will mark another significant step in the expansion of the Stereame facilities, strengthening Nenagh Éire Óg’s commitment to broadening sporting opportunities and community involvement in the area

Healthy Club Meet and Train

On Saturday 15th the Nenagh Éire Óg group went on the move again across the border to Portumna Forest Park for Event 3 of the Healthy Club November FIVE x FIVE 2025.
It was great to have mild weather for the third week in a row and everyone enjoyed the off-road route, completing two laps through the forest.
A big thank you to the Parkrun Director and all the volunteers for stewarding the event and cheering everyone on.
It was fantastic to see everyone buzzing at the finish line and the mucky runners too. All enjoyed breakfast at the new Courtyard Café.
Event No. 4 takes place at UL for the Limerick Parkrun. Meet at 9.15am on Saturday 22nd. See the Nenagh Éire Óg website and social media for registration details. All are welcome to join in to walk, jog, run or support. It’s a great start to Saturday!
The next Meet & Train group takes place on Tuesday 18th November at 7pm on the Slí Éire Óg Walkway. Walkers are welcome.
