Camogie News
Under-6 – We hosted Kiladangan this weekend for some games on the astro. This was a great opportunity for the players to express their skills gained throughout the summer and the girls were delighted to play three fun matches. Thank you to all the parents and coaches for organising such a great event. We look forward to travelling to Puckane in the near future.

Under-8 – Our camógs played Portroe last Saturday morning in Nenagh. Despite the damp conditions the girls played brilliantly and enjoyed the morning. Thanks to Portroe for visiting. Training continues Monday at 6:30.
Under-16 – Play their first game of the U16A championship away to Borris-Ileigh on Wednesday 13th at 7pm. Best of luck to all our U16 players and management.
Minor – County Champions! Congratulations to our Minor camogie team who put on a super display of camogie to beat Borris-Ileigh in the county Minor B final.
Playing uphill but with a strong wind on their backs in the first half, Nenagh needed to take full advantage. Borris started the faster and went two points up, but the Nenagh girls settled quickly and got back in the game with a well-taken goal by Clodagh Spain after five minutes. From then until half time, the girls didn’t look back, dominating every position. All six forwards scored and along with the deadly accuracy of Grace Cleary on frees we went in 1-13 to 1-2 at half time.
With such a strong wind blowing into their faces for the second half, the girls knew that they faced a fightback from Borris-Ileigh.
Some heroic defending from our six backs and a fine save by Eleanor Boland on 45 minutes kept Borris-Ileigh at arm’s length. With the gap closed to three points and only minutes remaining, Clodagh Spain won a dirty ball in midfield and moved the ball on to Sailí O’Connor who side-stepped two players onto her left and put the ball over the bar. It was Sailí’s fifth point from play and was the insurance point to secure a memorable win.
Afterwards, captain Ella O’Brien accepted the cup on behalf of the team and the celebrations began in earnest.
Great credit goes to the girls in this group who have battled hard together for Nenagh for many years – losing a U12C final in 2019, they then went on to win a U15C final in 2022 and now three years later they have won the Minor B final. It is a testament to their skill, hard work and commitment and all at Nenagh Éire Óg are very proud of these girls.
Under-18 B Camogie champions 2025
Intermediate – Our championship kicks off with an away fixture to Borris-Ileigh next Friday evening at 7pm. Preparations have been disrupted somewhat by the success of the minor team, but the Intermediate team have been training hard and will hope to get their campaign off to a good start on Friday.
Tipperary – Tipp Under 14 A development squad won their first All-Ireland today in Kilcock, Co Kildare. After three great wins against Limerick, Galway and Dublin in the group stages, Tipp met a very good Derry team who had beaten Cork and Kilkenny en route to the final. After a very close game Tipp emerged victorious by a point, bringing great joy to all involved. Every player contributed to the victory and a very successful year. We’re very proud of our own Lucy Anne Cleary who scored two goals and three points today, and who also had the honour of being joint captain with Kilruane’s Caoimhe Kennedy.
Nenagh were also represented on the B team by Aisling Ryan who played her part in getting to a shield final but were narrowly defeated by Cork.
Congratulations to all, Tiobraid Árann Abú.
