An exciting week ahead for supporters of the Blues – the junior A Camogie team make their championship debut on Sunday and the minor hurlers play Roscrea on Wednesday evening in a crucial contest. Also on Wednesday evening the under-13 Camogie team are in county final action, on Sunday the junior B hurlers face Toomevara and on Monday next the under-16 hurlers take on Borris-Ileigh. And, last, but not least, the Éire Óg senior hurlers take on Mullinahone on Friday in Templetouhy in the final of the Clean Ireland Recycling County Senior Hurling Challenge Cup. It was a day to forget for our junior B side as they came up against a very strong Ballina team in the second round of the championship on Sunday afternoon played in the opposition’s home pitch.

Despite losing out to Kilruane in an entertaining clash played at Puckane on Saturday evening Éire Óg remain in a good position to make the knock-out stages of the 2015 Watch Centre North Tipperary Junior A Hurling Championship.

The Blues’ minor A hurling team recovered a twelve-point deficit to earn a draw against an impressive Newport Gaels outfit at Dolla on Wednesday evening. After just eighteen minutes Éire Óg trailed 0-1 to 2-7, but the lads fought back superbly winning the remainder of this contest on a 2-14 to 1-5 scoreline.

The Nenagh Éire Óg junior B hurling team struggled in their opening championship game against Lorrha at Moatfield on Friday evening. That said the Blues never gave up and offered supporters plenty of evidence that they can recover from this defeat and make a positive impact on this year’s competition.

Our congratulations go this week to Barry Heffernan and the Tipperary hurlers who won the Munster final on Sunday last at Semple Stadium, Thurles. Well done also to the Éire Óg senior squad which represented the club so proudly in the Tom Semple Cup on Saturday and best of luck to our minor A and junior B teams who return to competitive action this week. A huge well done goes out to a whole series of Camogie players who turned out in the blue and gold of Tipperary recently and a special word of encouragement to the Blues’ under-12 team who paid a visit to Croke Park, Dublin. Finally, well done to our under-16A hurlers who recorded a third consecutive victory when beating Silvermines 5-19 to 2-16 on Monday evening!

On Saturday the Nenagh Éire Óg senior hurlers participated in the Tom Semple Cup, but lost out following a penalty shoot-out against tournament favourites Midleton (Cork).
