The Nenagh Éire Óg minor A football team lost by nine points to an excellent Newport Gaels outfit at MacDonagh Park, Nenagh on Wednesday evening. That said the Nenagh management team led by John Manley were delighted with the Blues’ hard-working display.

Kildangan won a first-ever north Tipperary under-21A title at the expense of Nenagh Éire Óg in Dolla on Sunday afternoon. Despite trailing 0-4 to 0-7 with twenty minutes to play Kildangan hit 0-5 without reply to force themselves into a 0-9 to 0-7 lead, an advantage that Nenagh Éire Óg could not claw back despite a heroic late effort to do so.

Nenagh Éire Óg and Kildangan will present a novel pairing in the Walsh’s of Nenagh North Tipperary Under-21A Hurling Championship final – following a 2-13 to 0-9 semi-final win over Kilruane MacDonagh’s the Blues will be seeking a first under-21 north title since 1994 when the lads take on Kildangan who have never won the A title at the grade.
