Inter-divisional Football
The Tipperary Bórd na nÓg inter-divisional football tournaments concluded this weekend and we were well represented throughout the month on the North Tipperary panels. At under-13 level Eoin Garrigan, Michael Moylan and mentor Shane Connolly were in hard luck to lose the shield final by a single point. Mikey had the honour of captaining the North division.
Our under-14 lads Cian Connolly, Zac Keller, Aodán O Connor and Keelan Rice were part of the Mick Frawley Under-14 shield final winning team today while Christy McLoughlin, mentor with the North Tipp under-15 squad, was in hard luck to also lose out by a point to the West today in the Tom Collum Under-15 shield final. Well done to our lads and their North Tipperary teammates for representing their clubs with distinction.

Under-21

Hard luck goes to our under-21 hurlers who were defeated by a solitary point by Toomevara in the North championship on Sunday in Puckane on a 2-19 to 3-17 scoreline. Seán Phelan got the first goal of the day inside the opening minute and both sides traded numerous scores in an entertaining encounter. With seconds remaining Conor McCarthy grabbed Nenagh’s second goal to reduce the margin to the minimum but it was too little too late as the Greyhounds ran out winners. Thanks to all the players and management for all their hard work this year.

Junior Football
Unfortunately the North junior football championship has been postponed until the Spring due to the recent weather and lack of available playing pitches. As a result we have cancelled training until further notice.
Fenway Classic
Best of luck to Barry, Jake and the Tipperary team who are travelling to the USA next weekend to play in the Fenway Classic. Have a great time lads.
School Visits
Our All-Ireland hurling champions Jake Morris, Barry Heffernan and Conor McCarthy received a heroes welcome when they visited the local primary schools during the week with the trophies they won this year. The lads were blown away with the kindness and enthusiasm of the staff and students as the schools were turned blue and gold by the young supporters of the Premier county. Once again we wish to thank all the staff in our schools for kindly promoting Gaelic games and passing on a love of hurling, camogie and Gaelic football to our young players.

Best Wishes
We extend our best wishes to Shane O’Neill who was appointed Galway senior hurling manager this week. Shane has been helping out our senior team in recent years.
Under-10 Camogie
Our under-10 girls started a four-week winter training program on the astroturf in Nenagh College on Saturday morning last. Great to see so many of the girls out and if your daughter would like to try camogie please come along this Saturday at 10am.
Under-13 Camogie

The under-13 girls bowed out of the championship in their semi-final over the weekend. We were well in touch at half time but Ballina pulled away in the second half. Well done to all the girls who put in a great effort on the day. Thanks also to all the parents for coming to support us on Saturday morning and all year. Please encourage the girls to stay hurling over the winter with their schools. Enjoy the break!
Gaelscoil
Congratulations to the Gaelscoil who won not one, but two county finals this week in Gaelic football. Fantastic achievement and well done to all involved.

North Tipperary Captains’ Night

“A leader is one who knows the way, goes the way, and shows the way” – John C. Maxwell
Well done to our victorious captains who collected championship medals on behalf of their teammates on Friday evening at the 2019 North Tipperary Captains Night. Thanks to all of our captains for their leadership this year regardless of whether or not they raised a trophy. Presenting the medals on the night was Tipperary hurling legend John Leahy. John spoke about his own playing days as well as the many personal demons he fought along the way and provided plenty of food for thought for those present.
We will hold our club medal presentation night on Friday, December 13th (we’re fearless!) and we’re planning for it to be one serious end of year party for all in the club with special guests and refreshments served on the night. The perfect way to end the juvenile year!
County Board Draw
The club had two big winners in this month’s county board draw with both Helen O’Sullivan and Joe Ryan claiming €1,000 each.
Condolences
Our condolences also go to our juvenile club treasurer, Mel Gleeson, wife Fiona and family on the passing of Fiona’s father, Noel Clancy, Tullamore. May Seán and Noel rest in peace.

It was a disappointing weekend for our senior and junior-A hurlers, for the first time since Mark Sheahan we have a player on the Tipperary senior football panel and the under-8 boys finish up their year after ten months of fun. All this and more in this week’s news on the Blues
Senior Hurling
Commiserations go to our senior hurlers who were defeated by Kiladangan in the FBD Insurance Tipperary senior hurling championship semi-final in Semple Stadium on Sunday on a 1-15 to 3-12 scoreline.
We wish to thank John Brennan, Noel Maloney and the senior management team as well as the wonderful panel of players for all their efforts this year. While we didn’t win the Dan Breen Cup there’s no doubt that it wasn’t for the want of trying and no stone was left unturned by everyone involved.

Junior-A

The junior-A panel which exited the championship yesterday ©www.sportsfocus.ie
Our junior-A hurlers were defeated by Arravale Rovers on Saturday in the county semi-final, 2-11 to 0-15, in Templederry. The lads fought bravely back from being five-points down with nineteen minutes to play to lead by one, deep in stoppage time, following a monster John Cahalan point however, the gods were not shinning down on the Blues and Rovers worked the ball up the field and it eventually came to Donough Leahy who blasted the winning goal from close range. It was a heart-breaking way to lose out but huge credit must go to the panel for the determination in which they played to bring themselves right back into the game. The club wishes to thank manager Eddie Tucker and his officials as well as the panel of players for all their efforts this year.
Callan Scully

Callan makes a dramatic save against Kerry in the Munster minor championship two years ago
We extend our best wishes to Callan Scully who has been invited by new manager David Power to join the Tipperary senior football panel. This will come as no surprise to anyone who has had the pleasure of seeing him in action for the club and county underage teams in recent years. The last Nenagh Éire Óg man to play senior football for Tipperary was Mark Sheahan and we have no doubt that Callan will follow in Mark’s footsteps and enjoy a long inter-county career.
Junior Football

The club have entered the North Tipperary junior football championship and preparations for this will begin soon. Players will be informed shortly of training and if anyone would like to take part please contact any of the management.
Juvenile News
Under-8

The under-8 boys finished up their year on Saturday morning after ten months together. We had a fun morning in MacDonagh Park with lots of treats afterwards. 40 boys took part throughout the year. There were over fifteen blitzes. Thanks to all the parents who worked tirelessly all year in so many different ways on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. Best wishes to all the boys moving on to under-10 next year and to the boys remaining with the under-8s. We hope all the boys continue to practise their skills in hurling and football at home and in school throughout the winter before returning to training in the New Year.

Our seniors and junior-As qualify for the county semi-finals while our under-15s end the season with a defeat to Ballina. All this and more in this week’s news on the Blues
Senior Hurling
In the battle of the Young Irelanders, our senior hurlers defeated Éire Óg Annacarty Donohill on Saturday afternoon in The Ragg in the FBD Insurance county quarter-final on a 4-15 to 1-8 scoreline. Nenagh got the perfect start when a Jake Morris effort was brilliantly blocked by Darragh Mooney but the Annacarty net-minder could do nothing to stop Conor Hennessy sticking the rebound home for the opening goal of the game inside the opening fifteen seconds. Morris himself got in on the goalscoring act with two of his own while Andrew Coffey added the fourth deep in the second half. We wish a speedy recovery to Shane Hennessy who were forced off early due to injury. We play Kiladangan in the county semi-final this Sunday at 1:45pm in Semple Stadium while Borris-Ileigh play Kilruane MacDonagh’s in the other semi-final at 3:30pm.
