Co Senior League
In the second round of the Co SHL, played last Saturday evening, Kilruane defeated us on a scoreline of 5-14 to 24 points. We play Clonoulty Rossmore in Round Three – this game takes place on Sat evening, 16th April, at 5.30pm in MacDonagh Park.
North Junior Leagues
The second round of the North Junior A League is due to take place on Friday next – we play Kiladangan at 6.45 in MacDonagh Park.
The Junior B League starts this weekend where we play Silvermines in the first round – this game is on Sun at 4pm in Dolla.
Under 19 Football
We play Borrisokane in the North Quarter final of the U19B Football this Wednesday at 6.30pm in Borrisokane.
Sanding Inside Field
Huge thanks to our SAND TEAM who did great work in spreading 10 tons of sand on Sunday morning. The inside field will remain closed until examined later in the week.

Tree Planting
The club under the stewardship of Jim Kennedy have recently planted around our bank boundaries over 220 meters of hawthorn hedgerow of 1,400 native plants infilled with a mixture of Blackthorns, Guelder Rose, Spindle and Crab Apple. These plants were supplied by Tipperary County Council Environmental section to promote eco awareness as part of their Biodiversity programme.

Our Community Friendly lotto was launched in June 2020 and since then we have donated €4,000 of our lotto funds to local charities. So when you play our lotto you are also supporting the charities in our community.
Our next nominated charity is Carmhá and a further €500 from our Lotto funds will be presented to them in the coming weeks.

Membership for 2022 is now due and can be paid through Foireann.ie.

Nenagh Éire Óg Gaelic Games Youth Academy
The Nenagh Eire Og Gaelic Games Youth Academy proudly sponsored by Albany Home Decor & A Sportsmans Dream held the second in our series of events last Saturday morning at the new Éire Óg astro facility. Developing Fundamental Movement Skills in primary school children was the focus of the workshop and was facilitated by John Murphy of St Mullins in Carlow, John also has a doctorate in Physical Education. Thanks to John for the brilliant workshop with loads of fun games to develop FMS in young people. The coaches really enjoyed it and took a lot of insights from the workshop.

Easter Cúl Camps.
Nenagh Éire Óg will be running an Easter Cúl Camp. The camp takes place on Tuesday 12th, Wednesday 13th and Thursday 14th of April. Camp will run from 10.00a.m until 1.00p.m. Booking can be made online through the Tipperary County Board link
https://tipperary.gaa.ie/tipperary-gaa-easter-camp/ . The camp costs €35 for the three days with each child receiving a football and sliotar. The camp is for children ages 6-13.
Tipperary Minor Captain
Sincere congratulations to Sam O’Farrell who was named captain of the Tipperary minor team for 2022. Everyone at Éire Óg are delighted for you, very proud of you and wish you every success in the upcoming minor campaign.
Primary Game
Congratulations to James Heffernan and Eanna Tucker who were both selected on the Tipperary Primary Schools team to play Waterford at half time of the first round of the Munster Senior Hurling Championship on April 17th, well done boys a fantastic honour.
Under 7
The Under 7 boys are having fun practicing their hurling skills on Saturday mornings on the astroturf from 10-11am. As always we’d love to see new faces of boys born in the years 2015/16. For further information please contact Alan on 087-7518789.
Under 9
Training continues on Saturday mornings at 10am for any boys born in 2013 and 2014. New boys are always welcome to join. Contact Cathal on 086 080 6460 or the club social media sites with any queries.
Under 11
Under 11 boys returned to the field this week for hurling and football training. It was great to see so many new boys from the CBS for football after all the great work down there over the past few months with Mr. Greene and our club coach Pat. Training this week for hurling on Tuesday, football on Friday and our first hurling match on Saturday.
New players born in 2011 and 2012 are welcome to give it a try. Contact 0874086439 for more details. training takes place every Tuesday – hurling on the inside field 6 – 7pm & Friday – football on the inside field 5.45 till 6.30 followed by hurling 6.30 to 7pm. Please encourage any boys that would like to start football to come along Friday.
Under 13
Both panels will play on Tuesday evening v Roscrea in Roscrea with the U13C game at 6pm & the U13A game at 7pm. Training going forward will be Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday evenings.
Under 15
Our Under 15 boys won at home against Toome last week in their first round football match. Wishing a speedy recovery to Jake who was injured during the match. Their next game is against Newport on Thursday evening at 6.30 in Newport.
Training for this group continues on Tuesdays from 7-8 p.m and on Thursday evenings at 6pm.

U17/19 training continues every Monday and Wednesday at 6.50 pm. We are getting a great turnout and encourage anyone who was on either of these squads before to come back and join us again.

CAMOGIE NEWS
Seniors
The Senior girls played their second game of the league against Silvermines in McDonagh Park on Saturday morning. We let the opposition steal a march on us in the first half when they scored two goals which proved decisive. The second half was a much closer contest and the defensive efforts from both sides was immense but Éire Óg could not get the scores to close the gap. The match finished 2.6 to 0.4.
There were first senior appearances for Jennifer Treacy, Samantha Howard and Cassandra Jones. Well done to all our players and thanks to Silvermines for such a good match. The next match for the seniors is another home game against Drom and Inch at 11a.m next Saturday the 9th of April in McDonagh Park. All support welcome.

Tipperary representation
It’s a bumper year for the club this year with Tipperary representation to be so proud of. Not only do we have the current Senior Camogie captain Grace O’Brien in our midst, and Caroline Browne and Rachel Maher on the intermediate team, we have a number of up and coming stars. Saoirse Ryan, Lauren Grace and Carly Walsh are currently on the U13 Development Squad and had a session with Senior Captain Grace O’Brien recently.
Congratulations to Clodagh Spain who is on the U15B Tipperary Development Squad and to Laura Nagle who is on the U16B Squad this year.
Finally, congratulations to U14 player Grace Cleary who has been selected for the U14 Tipperary Development Squad. Well done to all receiving the honour of wearing the blue and gold of Tipperary.
Under 16s
The U16s played their third game at home to Gortnahoe on Wednesday evening and made it three wins in three outings. The girls played very well as a team to come away with a win.
Next game is this Wednesday evening away to Toomevara at 7p.m.
Training continues 7-8pm Monday. Please note change of time.
Under 14s
Our U14s played Portroe in a challenge match last Friday evening. It was great to see the younger girls making the most of their game time. Thanks to Portroe for organising and best of luck in the championship. Both teams will begin their respective championships at home this week. Nenagh 1 play Burgess on Thursday evening at 7pm, while Nenagh 2 welcome Rockwell Rovers to Nenagh on Saturday morning at 11am.
Training continues Monday evening at 7pm.

U12s played their first blitz of the year in Burgess last Sat. We had enough for two teams and the girls all performed really well in their matches against Burgess and Kiladangan. A special mention must go to Laylyn Reid who came straight from her Confirmation to play for Nenagh Éire Óg camógs in their last match. Many thanks to Burgess for hosting. Training continues on Mondays and Thursdays at 6-7pm.
Under 10s
The Under 10s enjoyed great games at the blitz in Toomevara Camogie club on Saturday.Thanks to the hosts Toomevara for organising and we look forward to welcoming you to Éire Óg soon.

The majority of this team were on the Under 12 team that won the County final in 2021.
