Golf Classic
Our rescheduled Golf Classic fundraiser will take place on Friday, 11th September 2026 at Nenagh Golf Club.
We will endeavour to keep all existing bookings as close as possible to their original tee times.
As 3:30pm is now the latest available tee-time, we will be in contact with all participants to confirm their bookings and reschedule any tee times that were previously booked beyond 3:30pm.

Juvenile News
Under-6 Boys
On Saturday morning, our Under-6 group hosted a fantastic blitz with Kilruane and Toomevara. Six Éire Óg teams took part, giving every player plenty of game time, an opportunity to have fun, and the chance to put their skills into practice.
It is brilliant to see these young players improving week by week, building confidence, making new friends and, most importantly, enjoying their hurling.
A big thank-you to Kilruane and Toomevara for joining us and helping to make it such an enjoyable morning.

Under-8 Boys
Our Under-8s played their latest Go Games hurling fixture on Saturday morning in Nenagh. The boys had great fun and showed terrific skill throughout. Well done to all the players and coaches involved.
Under-10 Boys
The Under-10s travelled to Newtownshandrum, Cork, for the annual blitz hosted by the local club. The boys performed superbly, showing great teamwork, determination and the benefits of all their hard work in training.
Under-12 Boys
Our Under-12s faced Toomevara in the opening round of the Plate competition. It was a strong and composed performance from the lads, and we now look forward to the next round with confidence.
Under-14 Boys
The A team has reached the knockout stages of the North Tipperary Championship and will play Roscrea in Toomevara on September 10th at 6:00pm. Best of luck to the players and management, and as always, all support is greatly appreciated.
The C team continues its round-robin campaign. Despite difficult conditions last week, they hurled brilliantly against Ballina and came away as deserving winners. Congratulations to all involved.
Next up is Kilruane, with the date and time to be confirmed.
Under-16 Boys
With the hurling championship now complete for this group, attention turns to football. Training will resume shortly as the lads prepare for the next phase of their season.

Under-8 Girls
Our fantastic Under-8 girls took to the field on Wednesday evening for a series of hugely competitive and exciting games against Toomevara. The skills, effort and teamwork on display were outstanding, with every girl playing with heart, focus and real determination.
It is brilliant to see how much this group has progressed throughout the year. The coaches are incredibly proud of the girls’ development and achievements.
Under-10 Girls
Well done to our Under-10 girls who had a fantastic blitz on Saturday in Nenagh against Adare and Burgess. There was some brilliant hurling on show, with plenty of great games and, most importantly, lots of fun along the way.
Training continues on Wednesday.
Under-12 Girls
Our Under-12s trained well during the week and return to training on Monday and Wednesday this week.
Everyone is looking forward to Family Fun Day and the blitzes taking place this coming Sunday.
Under-13 Girls
Our Under-13s travelled to Monaleen on Saturday evening for a challenge match. The girls were superb, showing great skill, strength and determination to come away with a hard-fought one-point victory over the Limerick club.
Another challenge match is arranged against Ballina in Nenagh this Wednesday. Best of luck to the girls and management.
Under-16 Girls
The Under-16 girls travelled to Drombane to play Slieve Feilim in Round 2 of the Championship. The girls made a slow start against strong opposition and, despite their best efforts, were unable to close the gap after half-time.
The girls play Templemore away in the final round of the Championship this week. Best of luck to all involved.

Last week’s social hurling on the astro was, for the very first time, broadcast live on radio and we have the transcript below of that wonderful occasion.
Good evening and welcome to the Astro, where we are all set for another instalment of what has become one of the great rivalries of modern Social Ground Hurling.
The Bibs are lining out with just two men tonight — Conor O’Donovan and Jamie Kennedy — against three in the shape of John Phelan, Ger Ryan and Eamon Moylan.
Two against three.
You have to say, the Bibs are either incredibly confident or have completely lost the run of themselves.
“Well, I think it’s a little bit of both, to be honest with you. But remember, they were beaten by a single goal the last time these sides met, so there’s a bit of unfinished business here tonight.”
Indeed there is. That encounter, two weeks ago on the night of the solar eclipse, went right down to the wire, with the Non-Bibs coming out on top by a single goal.
The Bibs will be looking for revenge.
Three periods of ten minutes tonight, following ten minutes of puck-around, and we are ready for the opening puck.
And we’re underway!
Immediately, Conor O’Donovan has possession. He’s looking for Kennedy. Kennedy has it now, turns away from the challenge, opens his body…

The Non-Bibs haven’t settled at all.

This is extraordinary stuff!

And, remarkably, you feel there should have been another five or six goals.
Chances have been missed at both ends.
Some glorious opportunities.
And, to be fair, nobody is covering themselves in glory when it comes to finishing.
Everyone is culpable.
Nobody is escaping that particular criticism tonight.
SECOND PERIOD
We’re back underway.
The Bibs lead by one but, remember, they’re down a man.
The Non-Bibs have the numerical advantage and you’d expect that to begin telling as the game goes on.
But here’s Kennedy.

He’s already got two.
He’s looking for his hat-trick…
He’s through!
SHOT!
GOAL!
HAT-TRICK!

Three goals for Kennedy and the Bibs extend their lead!
Ten minutes gone in the first, and already three for the man up front.
The Non-Bibs need an answer.
Eamon Moylan now.
Moylan picks it up.
He’s got space.

That’s the response they needed.
And Moylan comes again.
The Bibs are stretched here.

And the Non-Bibs are back in the contest.

And suddenly the two-goal lead has disappeared.

And the Bibs restore their advantage.

And you have to say, for a team playing two against three, they are showing remarkable legs.
But the Non-Bibs have another ten minutes to come.
And that is a long time in Social Ground Hurling.
FINAL PERIOD
This is it.
Ten minutes remaining.
The Bibs lead 10–7.
Two against three.
Can they hold on?
That’s the question.
And immediately the Non-Bibs are on the attack.
They’re throwing everything at the Bibs.

GOAL!
Ger Ryan!
The lead is down to two!
And now Eamon Moylan…
Moylan has possession.
He’s looking for the opening.
He shoots…

And we’re back to a one-goal game!
What a turnaround!
The Bibs were three ahead and suddenly they’re hanging on.

The Non-Bibs need two.
They get one and we’re into a draw.
But the clock is running down.

And that’s the final attack!

AND IT’S A PENALTY ’65!
A PENALTY ’65 FOR THE NON-BIBS!
Now, the game itself is beyond them.
They’re two goals behind.
But this is about more than just tonight.
Remember, the first encounter was won by the Non-Bibs by a single goal.
The Bibs lead tonight by two.
If Phelan scores here, the aggregate across the two legs is level.

And once again, Eamon Moylan proves himself the penalty-saving specialist, with four saves to his name.
But that final save from Kennedy…
That was something else.
John Phelan had the chance to send the aggregate score level with the final puck of the match.
He went for the bottom-right corner.
Kennedy read it perfectly.
Dived to his left.
And somehow got enough on it to turn it away.
You couldn’t have scripted it better.
And perhaps fittingly, John Phelan also produces what was arguably the goal of the night earlier on — blasting one from distance into the top-left corner.
As for the player responsible for the most glaring misses of the evening…
Well, we’ll leave that one unnamed.
There are reputations to protect.
And friendships to preserve.
But one thing is certain — we’ve had another outstanding night of Social Ground Hurling.
The Bibs take the victory.
The Bibs take the bragging rights.
And after two legs, we have our answer.
