Lotto

There was no winner of this week’s lotto jackpot. The numbers drawn were 2, 6, 21 & 26

As the lotto continues into 2023, we thank everyone for continuing to support our lotto. If you have not yet joined the lotto or if your ticket has recently expired (check recent emails from Clubforce to check status of your ticket), please consider signing up again – it is our main fundraiser and contributes enormously to the day to day running of the club.

Junior A Hurling League

Hard luck to our Junior As who lost out to Roscrea by a point in the league final on Friday evening last – score in the game was 2 – 19 to 1 – 23 with Anthony Walsh and Aodhán O’Connor getting the Nenagh goals.

Attention now turns to the Junior A Championship which begins next weekend.

Our opening game is against Roscrea on Fri evening next at 7.30pm in Borris-Ileigh.

Junior B

Our Junior Bs lost out by 2 points to Portroe in the first round of the Junior B championship on Sunday afternoon last, final score was 18 points to 16.

The Junior Bs now play Knockshegowna on Sat evening next at 7pm in MacDonagh Park with Round 3 against Ballina on 15th July as below:

U19A Hurling

The u19s open their championship on this Wednesday evening when they play Toomevara at 7pm in MacDonagh Park.

With 5 teams in the U19A championship, the remaining fixtures are outlined below:

Tipperary

Hard luck to Jake Morris and the Tipperary team who lost the All Ireland quarter final to Galway last weekend.

With Tipperary now out of the championship, the North senior championship gets underway on the weekend of 8^th/9^th July. We will play Toomevara in the North Quarter Final on Sunday evening, 9th July, at 7pm in Dolla.

New Field Update

More positive news to report on the new field this week with the spreading of the topsoil starting late last week.

Further drone footage below gives a good idea how the field is shaping up and starting to look like a pitch at last!!

Scrap Metal Collection Fundraiser

The club’s annual scrap metal collection takes place on 6^th, 7^th and 8^th of July this year – posts on social media outline the items that can be dropped off – contact Shane at 087 63703830 for any queries.

Over 40s Social Hurling

Social Hurling continued again last Thursday night when once again the numbers were high.

Highlight of the evening was the great goal scored by organiser Conor O’Donovan!!

This will continue again this week, details of day/time via the Clubs Whatsapp group.

Nenagh Éire Óg Gaelic Games Youth Academy

The 2023 Nenagh Éire Óg Gaelic Games Youth Academy proudly sponsored by Albany Home Decor Nenagh & A Sportsmans Dream is underway and welcoming new boys to join in and give hurling and football a try.

Nenagh Éire Óg Summer Camp

The 2023 Nenagh Éire Óg Summer Camp will run from August 15th to 17th, Tuesday to Thursday, 10am to 1pm, €40 per child. Contact Niall on 087 4086439 to book.

Cúl Camp

Cúl Camp for this summer is now taking enrolments, go to https://www.kelloggsculcamps.gaa.ie/booking to secure a place for your child.

Under 5

Training for under 5 boys is now underway on Saturday mornings at 10am on the club astro. Contact John on 087 1365053 to join up. No training next weekend due to Féile competition being held in McDonagh Park.

Under 7

Training continues at 10 am on Saturday mornings at the club grounds. Mid-week training is on Wednesday from 6 to 7. No training next weekend due to Féile competition being held in McDonagh Park.

Under 9

Training continues Tuesday evening 6-7.15pm and Saturday morning 10-11.15am. No training next weekend due to Féile competition being held in McDonagh Park. We love to see new faces coming along, boys born in 2014/15 are very welcome to come and give it a try, contact Alan on 087 7518789.

Under 11

Under 11 boys played host to Dublin’s Ballyboden St Endas who travelled down to McDonagh Park on Sunday morning last. We had two very really competitive games each in both hurling and football. Fantastic skills shown by both sides in both codes.

A huge thanks to Ballyboden for making the trip down to us. We hope to head to Dublin later in the year to make the return trip up to ‘Boden. Training continues on Tuesday from 6 for both hurling and football and then on Friday at 6 for hurling. All new boys are very welcome to come along and give it a try, contact Cathal on 086 0806460.

Under 13

The U13C had a win over Borrisoleigh on Monday evening last.

Training on Tuesday and Friday at 7. New players always welcome, contact Niall on 087 408 6439.

Under 15

Under 15 boys won their match v Ballina last week and lost out to Roscrea by 2 points on Monday evening last.

Next up for this group is the Féile Peil which will be held in MacDonagh Park next weekend.

Training this week is on Tuesday and Thursday. In preparation for the upcoming regional Féile competition the boys were presented with new Féile gear – socks, togs and training tops. The gear is fabulous and has been kindly sponsored by a number of businesses in town, Brendan Gavin of Ger Gavin Home Interiors, Joe Mulqueen from Andy’s Bar & Restaurant, Permanent TSB and the Nenagh Éire Óg JuvenileClub.

We would encourage you all to support these businesses in return for their generous sponsorship to this group of players.

CAMOGIE NEWS

Under 6

Our under 6 group broke out the ash this week. Training is postponed until Saturday 8th July due to the Feile next weekend.

Under 8

Our Under 8s played the Silvermines, Portroe and Borrisoleigh in a blitz in Nenagh.

Under 10

U10 girls had a busy week with two blitzes playing Kilruane, Roscrea, Kiladangan and Moneygall.

Training continues every Mon and Thurs at 6 .

Under 12

Two good wins for U12 Blue and Navy teams. Waiting on dates for County Semi finals. In the meantime training continues on Mondays and Thursdays.Training continues Monday at 6pm.

Under 14

Training continues Monday at 7pm and Thursday at 7:15pm.

Under 15

Training Wednesday at 8pm and Sunday at 10am.

Tipperary

Junior All Ireland Championship

Rachel Maher started wing back with the Tipperary Camogie Junior Team yesterday in the final round of the Glen Dimplex All Ireland in an away fixture to Cavan. Tipperary won that match on a score line of Tipperary 3-14 to Cavan 1-9. This result means that Tipperary have topped their group and have qualified for the quarter final of the Junior Camogie All Ireland. They await the result of a draw next Saturday evening which may allow them as one of three group winners to progress straight into the All Ireland semi final.

Senior All Ireland Championship

Grace O’Brien started corner forward with the Tipperary Senior Camogie team in the second round of the Glen Dimplex All Ireland in an away game in Enniscorthy against Wexford. Tipperary won this game on a score line of Tipperary 3-15 to Wexford 0-12. This result also means that Tipperary have qualified for the knock out stages of the Senior Camogie All Ireland as they currently are on top of their group.

Next up is an away fixture next Saturday to the current All Ireland Champions Kilkenny. A win in this match for Tipperary would enter them into a draw with a chance to go directly into the All Ireland semi finals.
