Specsavers Health Talk

Specsavers, our valued club sponsor, delivered a highly successful one-hour health talk in the Complex last week for one of the daytime groups that regularly uses our facilities.
Lowery from Specsavers spoke about the importance of hearing health, answered questions and provided practical support on the spot, including cleaning and tightening glasses. Participants also received goody bags from Orlagh, which were greatly appreciated.
If other groups, whether based in the Complex or meeting elsewhere in the community, would like to arrange a similar session, please contact healthyclubnenagheireog@gmail.com.

Jamie Runs Riot in Social Hurling Goal Fest!

Three hardy bucks turned up with smiles on their faces and hurleys at the ready for Wednesday evening’s social hurling session at the Nenagh Éire Óg Astro – and what followed was a night of goals, saves and serious competitive spirit!
Jamie, Eamonn and Ger kicked things off with a man-in-the-middle drill before sharpening their skills with a wall session. Then it was straight into three mini-games of 2v1, where Jamie took centre stage in spectacular fashion.
The goals flowed as Jamie plundered an impressive SIX goals across the games, while his opponents managed just one in reply during his stint between the posts. Talk about making every chance count!
Next up came the penalty shoot-out, with each player taking six strikes from alternate sides. Ger emerged victorious to claim the bragging rights, but the goalkeepers deserve just as much praise. Between the three men, only THREE of the 18 penalties found the back of the net. The onion bag stayed remarkably empty as shot-stopping took centre stage!
The evening wrapped up with another round of the man-in-the-middle drill, bringing a lively session to a close.Well done to Jamie, Eamonn and Ger for the effort, skill and good humour on display. The rivalry is building, the gloves are coming off and the goals are flying!
Next session: Wednesday evening at 8.15pm at the Nenagh Éire Óg Astro. Be there for the next instalment!
