Club News 26 October 2025
Senior Hurling
Unfortunately, our senior hurlers were defeated by Loughmore Castleiney by one goal in last Sunday’s county final, 2-22 to 1-22. The entire panel and management team have given us supporters many great days out this year and while all were disappointed with the result, supporters left with a great sense of pride with the performance of the team with all players leaving everything out on the pitch. With our brilliant panel of players and fantastic management team we can all look forward to 2026 with a lot of confidence.
The very best of luck to Loughmore Castleiney as they represent Tipperary in the Munster club championship.
Under-15 Camogie
The under-15 camógs got their championship campaign off to a winning start with a very competitive match against Silvermines on Monday, coming out on top 2-13 to 4-1. Keevah Morris scored two goals, while there was some wonderful point scoring from Aisling Ryan, Emily Harmse, Laura Gleeson, and Aoibh Cahill. It was a very strong team performance overall, with several girls making their under-15 debut and the team captained brilliantly by Aimee Brett. The next group match is away to Newport Ballinahinch next weekend.

John “Mackey” McKenna

The late Mackey McKenna, winner of four All-Ireland senior hurling titles.
We were deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Tipperary hurling legend John “Mackey” McKenna. John was a key member of the great Tipperary teams of the 1960s and won four All-Ireland medals alongside our own Mick Burns in 1961, 1962, 1964 and 1965.
We extend our heartfelt sympathy to his wife Bernadette, his children Laureen, John, Ruairí and Aoife, his brother Tony and sister Philomena, and to the extended McKenna and Nealon families, as well as the Borrisokane and Burgess GAA clubs.

Support Seamus Morris’ “Come Dine With Me” Fundraiser for Quid Games
Nenagh Éire Óg’s Seamus Morris is taking part in the Quid Games on behalf of Tipperary GAA and needs to raise €3,000 to participate. His overall goal is to raise €5,000, with €1,000 going to the Dillon Quirke Foundation and €1,000 to Nenagh Éire Óg.
As part of his fundraising effort, Seamus is hosting a Come Dine With Me evening in the Hibernian Inn on Friday, November 28th.
Tickets cost €30, which includes a two-course meal and wine — and 100% of the ticket proceeds will go directly to the fundraising total.
It promises to be a fantastic night for a great cause, and your support would be greatly appreciated!
