A massive weekend of football ahead for our seniors and juveniles. Tipp hurlers overcome Clare. A busy week ahead for ‘The Blues’!
John Kissane Sevens
Don’t forget the Permanent TSB sponsored John Kissane Football Sevens tournament takes place tomorrow in MacDonagh Park with the juvenile tournament beginning at 13:30 while the adult competition commences at 17:00. Nenagh Éire Óg are joined by Kiladangan, Portroe, Upperchurch Drombane, Seán Treacy’s, Lorrha and Dorrha and JK Bracken’s in competing for the adult title. Food will be available in the main hall from 5pm provided by Andy Flynn’s.
Senior Hurling
Our senior hurlers defeated Toomevara in the Tipperary Water county league on Tuesday evening last in St. Michael’s Park. Killian Gleeson set us up with an early goal and we finished three point winners, 1-21 to 1-18.
Well done to Tipp Senior hurlers Barry Heffernan and Jake Morris and the team on another solid display. Hard luck to the minor team and our own Paul McLoughlin on their loss to Clare.

Juvenile News
U6: Great to see so many boys take the field again on Saturday morning. Keep up the practice and thanks to all of the parents for your enthusiasm and support.
U8: Big day in of football in MacDonagh Park tomorrow, Monday, as our under 14s play their county semi final at 11.30am. The John Kissane tournament is on later in the day with the Under 11s playing from 2.00pm and the seniors from 5.00pm. Be great for the boys to go along to some of the younger games and see what’s ahead of them over the next few years. Keep up the hard work at training boys.
U12: Both groups A and C begin the U12 league this week with Group A away to Burgess on Tuesday evening. The C group are home to Shannon Rovers at 7.30pm on Thursday.
U14: The best of luck to the lads in their county semi-final in Nenagh tomorrow, Monday at 11.30am. All support appreciated!
U16: The junior cert throws in for many of our hurlers this week. Good luck, don’t stress and all will work out just fine!
Camogie News
U12: Our U12 girls hosted Kiladangan on Tuesday evening in Nenagh in our first round of the league. While we were beaten, we can take many positives from the game. Round two will see us travel to Moneygall on Bank Holiday Monday to face the home team at 6.30pm.
Bereavement
Nenagh Éire Óg offer our sincere condolences to the Maher and O’ Sullivan families on the untimely loss of Sinéad, a wonderful wife, mother, daughter, sister and so much more to so many. Our thoughts are with her husband Eoin Maher, her children Daire, Seán and Clodagh, her mother Helen, sisters Margaret, Mary and Áine, brothers Enda and John, parents-in-law Tim and Dolores, aunts, uncle, and wider family. The club would like to send special condolences to our friend, Enda, club PRO, who is there for everyone from U6 – Junior B in hurling, camogie and football.
