The Blues will take on south Tipperary’s Skeheenarinky in the Clean Ireland Recycling County Junior A Hurling Championship final following a 2-12 to 1-12 win over St Patrick’s at Holycross on Saturday afternoon – Éire Óg recovered a three-point interval deficit to register an encouraging win while in their corresponding semi-final Skeheenarinky required an injury time goal to see off Kildangan on a 1-15 to 0-16 scoreline.

While the junior A Camogie team were left broken-hearted following their county semi-final defeat on Sunday there is still plenty to look forward to this coming weekend with the senior hurlers taking on Kilruane, the junior As in county semi-final action against St Patrick’s and the junior B team pitting their wits against Toomevara in a quarter-final replay.

Nenagh Éire Óg bowed out of the county junior A Camogie championship today when they were defeated by Cahir in the semi-final 1-9 to 0-7 at The Ragg.

Ger Tucker’s junior A hurlers booked their place in the county junior A hurling semi-finals thanks to a sixteen-point win over Knockavilla Kickhams at The Ragg on Saturday afternoon – Philip Hickey and Richie Flannery fired home the goals in an impressive display from the Blues.

A Paddy Harrington goal in the 58th minute rescued the Blues at Dolla on Saturday evening. Éire Óg trailed a determined Toomevara side for the duration of this keenly-contested junior B quarter-final and just when it looked like the Greyhounds had done enough to force their way into the last four Harrington struck for a vital three-pointer.

Despite trailing by seven points at half-time the Nenagh Éire Óg junior A Camogie fought back brilliantly in the second half to come within a puck of a ball of an excellent Holycross team at MacDonagh Park, Nenagh on Friday evening. Indeed, based on this display the Blues will now look forward to testing themselves against the very best in the county semi-finals.

Liam Heffernan’s senior hurlers stormed to a six-point win over Burgess in Sunday’s replayed Hibernian Inn North Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship Final at MacDonagh Park, Nenagh. With eighteen minutes to play Burgess led 0-7 to 0-6, but the Blues dominated thereafter and hit eight points without reply to land the Frank McGrath Cup. Meanwhile the junior A Camogie team registered a third consecutive win in the county championship – this time the Blues got the better of an excellent Newport team.
