Healthy Club Initiative: The Healthy Club Project team are hosting a health and wellbeing night in the Abbey Court Hotel on Wednesday March 23rd at 7.30pm. The talk, which is entitled “Minding the Body, Minding the Mind”, will be given by Dr. Fergus Heffernan PhD, who is a renowned psychologist and psychotherapist and a leading educator in the area of stress management and how it relates to our mental health. Fergus has worked with the Irish Defence Forces, the United Nations and NATO. He is a visiting lecturer and Workshop Director in Trinity College Dublin, Columbia University New York and Boston University USA.
County SH Challenge Cup: Our senior hurlers ran out 1-12 to 0-13 point victors over Kildangan in the second round of the Senior Challenge Cup on Saturday.

The Intermediate team play Newport this Sunday in Nenagh at 12 noon in the first round of the league, opening a new chapter for the club . U16’s first round match is on the 29th all panel members must attend training in readiness for this game.

Clothes recycling is on Saturday 9th April this is another important fundraiser for the club.
Congrats to Alanna Morris and the Tipperary Senior Camogie team on their second win of the campaign on Sunday away to Offaly which puts them in the reckoning for the league Quarter finals .
Congrats also to Meaghan Morris, Abbie Sheedy and Ella Carey who were on the Tipperary u14 team which played Cork on Sunday and have all made the final squad.
Registration is due and can be paid to any committee member or team manager.
Juvenile Notes
A big thank you to our juveniles and all who helped for their wonderful behaviour walking behind our banner on St. Patrick’s Day. Well done to all and congratulations to Hughie McGrath and the team once again for their great work for the town.
Our under-12 players have a bye in the football championship this week. Well done to all for their huge effort on Saturday and your training continues as usual.
The under-14 football season begins on Easter Monday when they take part in the Féile Peil, playing Ballina in the semi-final in Ballina at 2pm. The final will follow on the day.
Under-16 footballers travel to Roscrea to play Inane Rovers on Monday, March 28th.

St Patrick Say parade: In keeping a wonderful tradition alive, we invite our U6 & 8, U10 and U12 players to walk with us in the St. Patrick’s Day Parade on Thursday. A very special welcoming invitation to our new Éire Ógres whom we hope will wear their new shirts and walk with us also. Please meet in the C.B.S. Primary on Summerhill at 1.45pm at latest. Parents must meet their boys in the Railway Station car-park as they arrive back after the parade. We will be there with the Goodie-Bags!
Under-12: Well done to the U12 A football team on a good win away to Inane Rovers on Saturday. We play Silvermines in the next round matches on Saturday at 2pm in Nenagh.
Under-14: Football training continues on Wednesday at 5pm. Your crested gloves can be collected there on receipt of payment. Keep up the hard work lads.

Tipperary: Hard luck to both the A and B Tipperary under-16 teams who were defeated in their Munster finals in Puckane on Saturday last. The club was well represented on both panels with Niamh Sheridan, Caroline Browne, Rachel Browne and Lily Purcell all involved. Also Greg Browne was part of the management team. Well done to Grace O Brien and Ruth Hassett who were part of the county minor side who had a great win over Clare at the weekend.
Clothes Recycling: We will be having our annual clothes collection on April 9th in the complex in MacDonagh Park. If you are having a Spring clean and would like to get rid of old clothes, curtains, bed sheets, shoes etc please contact any member of the committee and we will be delighted to take them off your hands. Under-6 & 8: Training has resumed on Saturday mornings at 10am. New members always welcome.
Under-10: Training resumed on Saturday and well done to all for the great turn-out.
Under-12: Our under-12 footballers got off to a winning start against Newport on Sunday. Training continues on Wednesday evening and full attendance required. Our next games are away to Inane Rovers on Saturday.
Under-14: Féile Peil will be held during March so full attendance required now at training. There will be a meeting on Monday at 6.30pm with the new management team and all players are asked to attend.
Under-16: Our match against Lorrha Rovers was postponed due to weather. We travel to Roscrea to play Inane Rovers this weekend. Please check the club website for up to date fixtures.

Éire Ógres: Thank you to the wonderful young stars of our month long ‘Nenagh Éire Ógres GAA For Beginners Camp’ which finished on Saturday. The kids were presented with camp training T-Shirts to help them start their hurling careers in the coming weeks. Many thanks also to the trainers and family members for their support of the kids and club. Under-6 training will commence soon. Please keep an eye on the notes for details.

Intermediate: Training for 2016 commenced on Saturday last for the entire panel and will continue again on Tuesday. All players are asked to attend as the league will be starting in the next few weeks.
Under-16: Training for this panel continues on Tuesdays and Fridays. All our other underage teams will be commencing training in the next few weeks and management will be in touch with the details.

Tipperary: Well done to the Tipperary under-16 side which defeated Clare on Sunday. Niamh Sheridan, Rachel O Connor and Caroline Browne all played. Harty Cup final: A crowd in excess of 3,000 were in attendance at the weekend for the Harty cup final. Thanks to all members who helped out in preparing the grounds and facilities for the event and also to all those that helped with general stewarding and all the other activities on the day.
Congratulations: Well done to Andrew Coffey and who made his SH league debut against Kikenny at the weekend, following on from Daire Quinn’s debut the previous weekend. Best of luck for the rest of the campaign to Andrew, Daire and Barry Heffernan who are all members of the Tipperary SH panel.

Healthy club initiative: Our thanks to former Tipperary hurler John Leahy on giving a superb enlightening talk titled ‘Substance Awareness” last Saturday evening in the Complex. He spoke to the many teenagers in attendance and their parents about the dangers of substance abuse at a young age and also gave a fascinating insight into his own sporting life both on and off the field.

Éire Ógres camp: Our Éire Ógres GAA for Beginners camp finishes on Saturday. All registered members will be presented with a cert and a special t-shirt as a reward on the day.
Juvenile registration: Juvenile registration will take place on Saturday morning, February 27th from 10am-11am. Membership costs €25 for the year and we will have subsidised helmets and hurleys for sale on the day.
Under-12: Training continues at 6.30pm on Monday evenings. Gum shields are compulsory. The first football championship match will be on March 5th.

CAMOGIE:
Tipperary: Sunday was a very proud day for the club as Alanna Morris became the second player from Nenagh Éire Óg (Ciara McGrath being the first) to play a competitive game for the county senior side as she came on at corner back in the league game on Sunday in The Ragg against Galway. We hope this will be the beginning of many appearances in the senior set up from Alanna. We also send our congratulations to the county minor side who won against Kilkenny, the reigning all Ireland champions, by two points. Grace O Brien and Hazel McAuliffe both played and had fine games while we also had three more players on the panel, Ruth Hassett, Maeve Coffey and Sarah Quigley.
Under 16: Training continues for this panel every Tuesday evening in the complex in MacDonagh Park at 7pm in the hall.
Healthy Club initiative

A talk by former Tipperary hurler John Leahy titled ‘Substance Awareness” has been organized for Saturday Feb 20th at 7:30pm in the Complex. While primarily targeted at u14, u16, minors players and their parents from the juvenile and camogie club, all club players and members are invited to attend. Now a qualified addiction counsellor, John works with the HSE and voluntary bodies as a drug education officer in the area of helping people overcome problems with substance abuse.
