Plenty to look forward to this week as the junior Bs launch their north Tipperary championship campaign and a whole series of underage hurling and Camogie teams are in action. In other news the June edition of the club newsletter has been published while details for the forthcoming golf classic have also been confirmed.
SENIOR
Senior: Liam Heffernan’s Blues will not return to championship action until the respective divisional championships reach a conclusion – Éire Óg have already qualified for the last sixteen of the Clean Ireland Recycling County Senior Hurling Championship. Éire Óg have also qualified for the final of the Dr Fogarty Cup against Mullinahone – that final is expected to take place in the coming weeks.
Junior A: Following victories over Kildangan and Silvermines and a defeat suffered against Burgess the junior A hurlers have one remaining group game to play against Kilruane MacDonagh’s. The Watch Centre North Tipperary Junior A Hurling Championship is being run on a two-group system with the top team in each group progressing to the semi-finals and the second and third teams qualifying for the quarter-finals. Nenagh Éire Óg, the defending champions, were drawn in group one while group two features Toomevara, Borris-Ileigh, Roscrea, Knockshegowna and Templederry. This year the junior A team is managed by Greg Browne (manager), Con Morris, Michael Ryan and Conor Ryan.
Junior B: On Friday, July 24th the junior B hurlers will launch their championship campaign when the lads take on Lorrha-Dorrha in Lorrha at 7.30pm. In the Watch Centre North Tipperary Junior B Hurling Championship Éire Óg have been drawn in group one alongside Lorrha, Toomevara, Shannon Rovers and Ballina. Moneygall, Portroe, Newport and Borrisokane make up group two. This year the Éire Óg team is managed by Cian Tucker (manager), Mark Long, John Paul King and Paddy Flynn. The junior B team would appreciate your support in Lorrha on Friday.
Minor A: The Nenagh Éire Óg minor hurlers recorded a ten-point win over a determined Portroe team at Puckane on Thursday evening (4-16 to 2-12). The Nenagh Éire Óg minor A hurling team have been drawn in group one of the North Tipperary minor A hurling championship alongside Roscrea, Newport Gaels, Borris-Ileigh and Portroe. In the previous round the Blues beat Borris-Ileigh 1-15 to 3-8. The minor A hurlers will return to competitive action on Wednesday, July 29th when the Blues face Newport Gaels in Dolla at 7pm. Manager John Manley is joined on the management team by selectors Derek Lillis, Christy McLoughlin and Paudie Gleeson.
Golf Classic: The Nenagh Éire Óg Golf Classic, which has been kindly sponsored by Eddie Connolly Builders Nenagh Limited, will take place at Nenagh Golf Club on Friday, August 14th. A whole range of attractive prizes are on offer. The format for the competition will be a team of four scramble. The cost of entry is priced at €120 per team. Commiserations: Our commiserations go to Barry Heffernan and Andrew Coffey who featured on the Tipperary under-21 team which lost a Munster semi-final to Limerick at the Gaelic Grounds on Thursday evening last.

JUVENILE
There will be no under-6 training this week due to the summer camp. The boys will then have a short break and training will resume on August 8th. Thank you to our recent visitors Roscrea for a great morning of fun and hurling.
There will be no training for our under-8 boys this week due to the summer camp. Parents will get notice by text about a blitz in Thurles on Saturday. Training will resume as normal next week for this group.
There will be no under-10 hurling or football training this week. The boys will be playing Kilmacud Crokes on Sunday in Nenagh at 10.30am. More information from trainers.
The under-12 group D hurlers had a good win against Kildangan on Friday evening in Puckane. This group has two matches left against Silvermines and Moneygall. The group A team did not fare as well losing out by five points to a strong Kildangan side. There is one match left for this team against Silvermines.
The under-14 round seven game against Borris-Ileigh has been re-fixed for this Wednesday in Borrisoleigh at 7.30pm. Depending on results we may be out in a quarter-final or in a play-off on Saturday. Well done to Seán Phelan, Cian O’Farrell and Rory O’Donovan who featured in both Tipperary under-14 games against Waterford and Wexford on Saturday in Waterford.
The under-16 hurlers enjoyed a good win against the Silvermines finishing on a scoreline of 5-19 to 2-16 last week and on Monday evening they lost an entertaining clash with Roscrea on a 1-20 to 2-19 scoreline. The lads travel to Toomevara on Monday, July 27th at 7pm. Please come out to support the lads. Well done to Conor Bonnar and Jake Morris who were part of Tipp under-16 panels which travelled to Wexford on Saturday. Evan Murphy was on the under-15 panel to play at the Ragg.
Our sincere sympathy goes to the Kennedy family, Templederry on the sad passing of Ronan Kennedy. RIP.
CAMOGIE
Under-8: We played a blitz in Kilcolman on Saturday last and we would like to thank Burgess for the great day out.
Under-13: We face Newport on Tuesday at 7.30pm in the next round of the summer league. This game takes place in Newport.
Under-15: We host Newport on Friday at 7.30pm in the Summer League.
Tipperary: Congratulations to the county under-16 team who defeated Clare in the championship at the weekend. We had five girls on the panel: Hazel McAuliffe, Caroline Browne, Maeve Coffey, Niamh Sheridan and Eimer Ryan. Well done ladies. Also well done to Katie Morris who played on the county under-14 team which played Offaly over the weekend.
