Another encouraging week for Éire Óg! The under-14 hurlers enjoyed a terrific win on Wednesday, the under-14 Camogie are preparing this week to take part in the Féile na nGael tournament in Galway, the senior hurlers returned to winning ways on Friday night, Evan Murphy collected the under-16 poc fada county title on Saturday and the Blues 10K proved a resounding success on Sunday morning.
SENIOR
Blues 10K: The Blues 10K & Fun Run/Walk proved a resounding success on Sunday, June 14th with a huge crowd turning out to enjoy this unique community event hosted in aid of the North Tipperary Hospice. Christopher Ryan won the 5K race in a time of nineteen minutes and eleven seconds. Paddy Murphy was second and Alan Kelly came home in third place. Louise Hickey won the ladies 5k event in great style while in the 10K Cillian Dunne (36.26) was first home in the wheelchair category. Aaron Quigley won the 10K race in 36.32. Second in the 10K was David Sheehan with Peter Madden third. Margaret Danaher was first woman home in 38.29, Mary Gavin second and Serena Moloney came third. In the 5K walk Diarmuid Maloney finished first in 24.09, second were the Ryan Family and Sam O’Farrell was third. The Nenagh Éire Óg club would like to thank all of those who worked so hard to ensure that the event ran smoothly. The complete results from the event have now been published to the club website. Senior: Nenagh Éire Óg booked their place in the final of the Dr Fogarty Cup thanks to a resounding thirteen-point win (1-23 to 0-13) over Lorrha-Dorrha at MacDonagh Park, Nenagh on Friday evening. Éire Óg last appeared in the Dr Fogarty Cup final in 2013 when the Blues lost after a replay to Burgess. On the opposite side of the draw Burgess will take on Mullinahone on Friday, June 19th in Drombane at 7.30pm. The final of the Dr Fogarty Cup is expected to take place in the coming weeks. The Blues will not return to championship action until the respective divisional championships reach a conclusion – Éire Óg have already qualified for the last sixteen of the Clean Ireland Recycling County Senior Hurling Championship. Tickets: Any paid-up members who require tickets (including family tickets) for the Munster senior hurling semi-final between Tipperary and Limerick at Páirc na nGael, Limerick on Sunday, June 21st are asked to text club secretary Anne on 087 133 6024 as soon as possible. Junior A: The first round of the junior A hurling championship is scheduled to take place on Saturday, June 20th when Nenagh Éire Óg take on Kildangan in Dolla at 7pm. This year the team is managed by Greg Browne (manager), Con Morris, Michael Ryan and Conor Ryan. The Watch Centre North Tipperary Junior A Hurling Championship will be run on a two-group system with the top team in each group progressing to the semi-finals and the second and third teams qualifying for the quarter-finals. Nenagh Éire Óg, the defending champions, have been drawn in group one alongside Kildangan, Kilruane MacDonagh’s, Silvermines and Burgess. Meanwhile group two will feature Toomevara, Borris-Ileigh, Roscrea, Knockshegowna and Templederry.
Junior B: The first round of the Watch Centre North Tipperary junior B hurling championship is scheduled to take place on the week-ending June 21st or June 28th. This year the team is managed by Cian Tucker (manager), Mark Long, John Paul King and Paddy Flynn. The Watch Centre Junior B Hurling Championship will be run on a two-group system with the top team in each group progressing to the semi-finals and the second and third teams qualifying for the quarter-finals. Nenagh Éire Óg have been drawn in group two alongside Ballina, Portroe, Borrisokane, Toomevara and Lorrha-Dorrha. Meanwhile group one features Silvermines, Newport, Shannon Rovers, Kildangan, Moneygall and Borris-Ileigh.
Minor A: The first round of games in the Ger Gavin-sponsored North Tipperary minor A hurling championship is expected to be played on Wednesday, July 1st or Thursday, July 2nd. John Manley’s Nenagh Éire Óg team have been drawn in group one alongside Roscrea, Newport Gaels, Borris-Ileigh and Portroe. John Manley is joined on the management team by selectors Derek Lillis, Christy McLoughlin and Paudie Gleeson.

JUVENILE
Under-6 training continues at the usual times.
Under-8 and under-10 hurlers enjoyed good challenges in Dolla last weekend. Thank you to hosts Silvermines. Our next matches are against Toomevara. More from managers during the week.
Our under-12 group D team suffered a narrow loss away to a strong Ballina team on Monday. The boys put in a great performance and will be out again this week against Burgess. Group A also face Burgess opposition this week.
The Nenagh under-14 hurlers had a well-earned win over Toomevara on Wednesday on a 2-15 to 3-3 scoreline. They will play their round three under-14 match away to Kildangan on Wednesday, June 17th at 7pm.
Well done to Nenagh Éire Óg’s Adam Ryan who had a great run out for Tipp in the Primary Games during the Tipp versus Kerry football match.

Date for the Diary! Nenagh Éire Óg Summer Camp is on from Monday, July 20th to Friday 24th. It has evolved over the years in to much more than a hurling camp with a lot of emphasis on fitness, movement and fun games. All are welcome. Contact Catherine on 086 085 5165 for more information!
SCHOOLS
The annual Nenagh Éire Óg-sponsored Schools Tournament was held in MacDonagh Park on Monday between Nenagh CBS Primary and Gaelscoil Aonach Urmhumhan. In glorious sunshine the boys gave their all for their schools. Following under-11 and under-13 matches and a skills competition, the shield was retained by Nenagh CBS and presented to under-13 team captain Paul McLoughlin by Christy McLoughlin. Well done to both schools and their teachers. The future of hurling in Nenagh is in safe hands!
CAMOGIE
Primary Game: We wish Abbie Sheedy the very best of luck on Sunday as she represents Tipperary in the Primary Game during the Tipperary and Limerick Munster semi-final at the Gaelic Grounds. Have a great day out Abbie!
Under-12: We faced Shannon Rovers on Monday in Ballinderry. Please check our website for the result of this game.
Under-14: We send our best wishes to Michael, Lorraine and the panel as they pack their bags and head off to Carnmore in Galway for the Féile na nGael this Saturday. Have a wonderful time ladies!
Under-16: The county semi-final against Silvermines has been fixed for Saturday 27th at 7pm in The Camogie Grounds in The Ragg.
Tipperary: Well done to Sarah Hallinan, Abbie Sheedy, Naoise MacLoone and Sine Morris who played for the county under-13 team in a blitz in Mallow at the weekend.

The Blues 10K: Well done to all the organisers of this fantastic event, especially Shane Connolly and Gerry Robinson, on Sunday last and to all who took part. It was great to see so many people support this worthwhile cause.
Congratulations: Congratulations to Louise Hickey who held a hugely successful table quiz in The Dapp Inn on Friday last in aid of Columa Primary School in Uganda. It was fantastic to see so many from the club attend and a great nights fun was had by all. Louise will also be auctioning off a signed Tipperary jersey in the near future.
