Despite the fact that the senior hurlers lost to Templederry on Sunday the Blues have already started to regroup and Nenagh Éire Óg junior A Camogie team lifted the spirits of the club with a terrific win in Lorrha on Sunday afternoon.
SENIOR
Congratulations: Congratulations to Nenagh Éire Óg’s Denis Parker (Rathmartin, Nenagh) who won the €20,000 jackpot in the Tipperary GAA Members Draw. On Wednesday last Mr Parker was presented with his cheque at the MacDonagh Park complex by Ger Gavin (representing the Tipperary County Board). The presentation ceremony was hosted by club chairman Jim Nagle who welcomed the Parker family to the club. For the past twenty-seven years the Tipperary GAA Draw has served the clubs and the people of Tipperary well. A unique Nenagh Éire Óg branded brochure will become available in the coming weeks to promote the up-coming draw. The Tipperary GAA Draw features an extraordinary €500,000 prize fund. And, don’t forget that your club, Nenagh Éire Óg, benefits significantly from your contribution to the Tipperary GAA Draw. Indeed, the draw committee has introduced major increases in commission for the coming year. Should you wish to join the draw or renew your subscription to the Tipperary GAA Draw please contact any club officer or email eireognenagh@gmail.com .

The Blues’ final group game will be against Clonoulty-Rossmore on the week-ending Sunday, May 3rd or Sunday, May 10th depending on Tipperary’s progress in the knock-out stages of the Allianz National League – the league final is scheduled to take place on Sunday, May 3rd. Minor A: Nenagh Éire Óg got their minor A football championship campaign back on track on Friday evening when beating Portroe by six points (1-12 to 0-9). JUVENILE
Under-8 & Under-10: Special football training continues on Tuesdays for under-8 and under-10 boys. Hurling training is on Wednesday at 5.15pm. Full attendance required as there is a Community Games match on Saturday at 11am against Templemore – more information from management.
Under-12: Our under-12A footballers enjoyed a 3-3 to 2-5 win away to Toomevara on Friday. They play their final group match against the Silvermines on Friday in Nenagh at 6.30pm. Training continues on Mondays at 5.30pm and Wednesdays at 6.30pm until further notice.
Under-14: The under-14 footballers have had a busy week. On Easter Monday they travelled to Dolla for the Peil na nÓg competition, but unfortunately bowed out in the semi-final to a more clinical Borrisokane side on a scoreline of 2-4 to 1-2. On Wednesday the lads travelled to Borrisokane to take on the same opposition in the first round of the championship. A much better performance saw the Blues reverse Monday’s result on a scoreline of 2-6 to 0-3 with man-of-the match Callan Scully making a number of fine saves in goal, including a penalty towards the end of the game. We play Toomevara in the semi-final of the Féile na nGael hurling on Saturday, April 18th at 3pm in Borrisoleigh. Best of luck to the boys!
Under-16: Our boys enjoyed their second win in the championship last week with a 3-15 to 2-6 victory over Borrisokane in Nenagh. Nenagh led 1-7 to 2-2 at half-time following a poacher’s goal from Killian Malone and the accurate shooting of Jake Morris. The team raised their performance in the second half and a well-taken goal from Scott O’Brien put the result beyond doubt. Key performers for Nenagh were Daniel O’Donovan and Conor Bonar while Cian O’Brien and Ethan O’Brien defended well throughout. The team would like to wish Conor Bonar a speedy recovery from his recent injury.
