The Éire Óg junior A Camogie team maintained their 100% record in the league with a resounding 19-point win over Kildangan in Puckane on Sunday afternoon.

The Blues raced into 0-6 to no-score lead inside the opening nineteen minutes. Rachel Spillane set up Grace O’Brien for the opening point in the third minute before O’Brien converted two placed balls. Grace O’Brien notched her second point from play in the 13th minute while Sarah O’Connor set up Louise Hickey for a terrific point five minutes later. A converted Grace O’Brien free added to the Blues’ tally before the Kildangan ‘keeper made a stunning save to deny Alicia Hallinan a goal in the 25th minute following terrific work from Alanna Morris.
Two more Grace O’Brien frees left eight in it before Kildangan got off the mark thanks to a placed ball in the third minute of first half injury time. At the break Éire Óg led 0-8 to 0-1.
Three minutes into the second half Éire Óg notched their opening goal of the game – Louise Hickey’s cross found Sarah O’Connor who turned a fired home off her left-hand side. A minute later the Blues scored a terrific point – Sarah Quigley’s puck-out found wing-back Alanna Morris who worked the ball into the hand of Grace O’Brien. O’Brien, in turn, found Rachel Spillane and the wing-forward landed a great score off her right. Sarah O’Connor struck once more in the 35th minute, this time off her right, before two Grace O’Brien frees helped the Blues into a 1-12 to 0-1 lead.
Aislinn O’Brien set up Grace O’Brien for a point in the 40th minute before Sarah O’Connor added to the Nenagh tally with fifteen minutes to play.
With ten minutes to go Kildangan rallied scoring a goal and a point in quick succession, but Éire Óg responded in kind in the 55th minute when Rachel Spillane set up Grace O’Brien for a left-handed finish (2-15 to 1-2).
Late points from Aislinn O’Brien, Holly O’Brien and Grace O’Brien (free) completed the scoring from an Éire Óg point of view.
