Dinner Dance: The countdown is well and truly on to the Nenagh Éire Óg dinner dance and medal presentation which takes place in the Abbey Court Hotel on Saturday, February 1st. On the night the minor team, junior A team, minor Camogie team and junior B Camogie team will be presented with their respective medals. Tickets for this event are priced at €30 (€15 for players). Contact any member of the organising committee (Josephine Mackey, Valerie O’Brien, Catherine Grey, Geraldine Quinn & Paul Henry) for tickets or alternatively contact Brian McDonnell on 087 222 8976. Tickets will be available for collection from the complex at MacDonagh Park, Nenagh on Tuesday evening 8-9pm.
Congratulations: Our congratulations go out once more to Barry Heffernan who was named 2013 north Tipperary minor hurler of the year and presented with his award recently at the Lakeside Hotel in Ballina. Recent winners of the award include: Michael Heffernan (2007), Tommy Heffernan (2009), Seán Geaney (2011), Donnacha Quinn (2012) and Barry Heffernan (2013). Referee Martin Healy was also honoured on the night.
Healthy Club Project: The Nenagh Éire Óg Healthy Club Project team hosted a very successful ‘Well Being and Mental Health’ seminar at the Abbey Court Hotel on Friday, January 24th. Speakers on the night included Cloyne’s Conor Cusack and Séamus Hennessy (Kilruane MacDonagh’s). In addition a number of organisations were present with information pertaining to the critical area of mental health. Please see the club website for a detailed report on the event – click here.
Waterford Crystal Cup: MacDonagh Park, Nenagh will host the Waterford Crystal Cup semi-final between Tipperary and UL on Sunday, February 2nd at 2pm.

JUVENILE
Juvenile Flag Days: Juvenile Flag Days will take place on Saturday, February 1st and Sunday, February 2nd. The support of parents and supporters is needed for this important fundraiser for the boys. If you can spare an hour please call or text Gerry Robinson on 087 207 7782.
Juvenile Registration: Juvenile Registration will take place on Wednesday, February 19th (5.30-7pm) and Saturday, February 22nd (10am-12). The fees remain unchanged at €25 per player and €50 for two or more. There are also family membership deals available with more information on the club website.
National Club Draw: Nenagh Éire Óg are participating in the national club draw which features some sensational prizes like trips to Australia and the US – tickets are priced at €10 and parents are asked to support the club in this initiative. To promote the draw the juvenile club are also offering a package of a ticket and a subsidised Nenagh Éire Óg beanie hat at €15 for both – this offer will be available during registration. HANDBALL
Congratulations to our new North Tipperary singles champions Eimear Meagher (under-14), Katie Morris (under-13) and Meagan Morris (under-11) who won their titles last week. Well done also to Sinéad Meagher who won the Broadford Tournament recently. This was a great achievement as the competition included Munster’s finest young handballers. There was plenty of other action in the club with Cameron Spillane reaching a north final, Katie Morris and Cameron Spillane reaching the Munster semi-final of Gael Linn and Eoin Meagher competing in a Munster semi but losing out to rising star Colin Corbett of Clare.
Up-coming fixtures – Wednesday, January 29th: Tipperary Colleges Boys Intermediate Singles (7pm) followed by Silver Masters competition. Thursday, January 30th: Tipperary Colleges Girls Junior Singles and Doubles (7pm) followed by Silver Masters competition. Saturday, February 1st: Nenagh’s Michael McNamara and Brian Darcy face Kerry opposition in the Munster Junior B quarter-final at 3pm in Nenagh. Best of luck to the lads!
CAMOGIE
Dinner Dance: on Saturday, February 1st the club’s dinner dance will take place in the Abbey Court Hotel where we will be honouring the minor and junior B teams who won their respective championships in 2013. No girl under the age of eighteen will be permitted entry on the night unless accompanied by their parents or guardians. This promises to be an entertaining night as we will be joining up with the hurling club who will be presenting their winning teams from 2013 with their medals as well.
Registration: our registration night was last Friday however if you missed it please contact Denise Morris or your team manager as soon as possible. No player will be allowed train or play with the club unless they are registered as they will not be covered by insurance.
Volunteers: we are always looking for new people to get involved in the club and if you would like to contribute to the growth of Camogie in terms of administration, coaching, playing or in any other way please email eireognenagh@gmail.com
National Club Draw: The Camogie clubs are selling tickets for the National Club Draw. All money raised will go back into the club and will be used for up keep of the club grounds. We ask everyone involved in the Camogie section to please purchase a ticket. Tickets cost €10 and are available from any committee member.
