Two Trophies, One Unforgettable Team
Féile na nGael Division 1 Champions 2026
Nenagh Éire Óg made history this Bank Holiday Monday by completing the Féile and Peil double for the first time in the club’s history. It marks only the second time the club has won the Peil and just the third Féile title, following previous successes in 1988 and 1993.
It has been a remarkable week for this group of players. They faced Mullinahone in their opening match in MacDonagh Park at 12.00. With Drom & Inch withdrawing, the game was played over 25 minutes a half. Nenagh led comfortably at half time, but Mullinahone mounted a determined comeback, reducing an eleven-point deficit to a single score. Their persistence forced Nenagh to fight for every score, but the boys held firm to secure a hard-earned two-point victory.
Toomevara progressed through the other group with wins over Cashel and Boherlahan in shortened games. They came into the final with strong pedigree, having been county under-13 champions two years ago when they defeated Nenagh in the North Final.
Nenagh started the final brightly in what was an end-to-end contest. Dylan Corrigan struck an excellent goal, quickly matched by Oliver Duff for Toomevara. The sides were level approaching half time when Nenagh were reduced to fourteen players following a second yellow card. Rather than retreat, the team responded with determination, outworking their opponents for the remainder of the game. Their resilience and spirit over the final twenty minutes were exceptional.
Fionn Tucker added a crucial goal, with Toomevara responding through Aidan O’Gorman. Frees were traded as the tension built, each score more significant than the last. Nenagh Éire Óg ultimately emerged victorious by two points, 2–7 to 2–5, to the delight and relief of a large crowd.
Joint captains Paraic Sheehy and the injured Kevin Hogan accepted the Tommy Barrett Cup from PJ Bowden and Michelle McKelvey of Tipperary Bord na nÓg. Celebrations followed, made even more special by winning a county title on home soil.
As tradition dictates, the team paraded through the town, sounding horns and proudly displaying both the Féile and Peil cups, before heading to JKC’s where they were treated to ice cream by Michael Cleary. Sincere thanks to Michael and Caitríona for their generosity over both weeks.

Our under-8 girls in their first North Tipp Blitz in Shannon Rovers on Saturday 2nd May
Nenagh Éire Óg under-8 girls took part in their first North Tipperary blitz of the season on Saturday morning. The girls fielded three teams and played against Shannon Rovers, Burgess and Lorrha.
They performed brilliantly across all their games and thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to get their season underway against strong opposition. Many thanks to Shannon Rovers for hosting a very enjoyable morning.

Under-10
Our under-10s at their Blitz in Nenagh on Saturday 2nd May
Our under-10s took part in a blitz on Saturday morning in Nenagh, where they played Burgess and Shannon Rovers. It was a great morning of camogie, with excellent effort and enthusiasm shown by all the girls.
Their next blitz takes place on Thursday evening, 7th May, when they face Toomevara in Nenagh.
Under-12
Our under-12 girls received their Cáman To Croker Certificates on Monday 27th April
The Blue Team played a cracking game against Kilruane on Thursday, 30th April in Nenagh, showing great determination and skill throughout.
The Navy Team are in action this Bank Holiday Monday, 3rd May, away to Roscrea.
Under-14
Our under-14 girls played their second game of the campaign against Shannon Rovers on Monday in Nenagh. Despite a spirited and determined performance, Shannon Rovers came out on top on the night.
Next up is a trip to Annacarty on Sunday, 10th May. Training continues this week, along with a challenge game against Kiladangan.
Under-16
The under-16 girls play Silvermines in a challenge match this Tuesday. Training continues as usual on Thursday and new players are always very welcome to join.

Under-8

Féile na nGael
Huge congratulations to all the boys involved in Féile na nGael hurling on winning the Division One final in a thrilling match against neighbours Toomevara. This is a fantastic achievement, with the group securing both hurling and football Division One titles this year and firmly etching their names into the club’s history.
Under-17
Our under-17 boys face JK Brackens on Wednesday evening in the football league. The match takes place in Templemore at 6.45pm. Best wishes to the team.

Nenagh Run Club
Nenagh Run Club, which have been making fantastic use of our community walkway, are hosting a special “Strides & Stretches” event next Sunday, 10th May, in collaboration with Suzanne Seymour (Chartered Physiotherapist and Pilates Instructor), as a fundraiser for Pieta House—a cause that resonates deeply within our community and supports individuals and families affected by suicide and self-harm.
The morning will begin with a Pilates session in the hall, designed to prepare participants for run club at 11am. There will also be a raffle featuring generously sponsored prizes, along with the Rituals coffee truck on site to provide pre-run refreshments, and a selection of sauna offers available on the day.

BAMBOO-ZLED! Bamboo Blade Blasts Scoring Blitz
Astro under the lights? More like a bamboo battlefield under fire.
Last Wednesday night exploded into life as the non-bibs duo of Mick Hutchinson and John Phelan ran riot in a bamboo blistering 40-minute shootout, blowing away the bibs brigade—Martin Gleeson, Eamonn Moylan and Martin Hogan—by a jaw-dropping 23–13.
From the very first strike, it was thunder and lightning from the men without bibs. Hutchinson and Phelan didn’t just take control—they seized it, shook it and refused to let go. The bibs came armed with their slick diamond setup, a tactical web spun tight in the early exchanges—but for all the style, there was no sting. Pressure without payoff. Smoke without fire.
And then came the onslaught.
Hutchinson, brandishing a bamboo stick like a warrior-poet gone rogue, turned the goalmouth into his personal playground—twelve times he rattled the net. Twelve! A dozen daggers, each one sharper than the last. Not to be outdone, the Offaly Rover Phelan was right there in the slipstream, firing home eleven of his own in a relentless, ruthless display. Twenty-three between them. Twenty-three!
To their credit, the bibs didn’t fold—they flared. As the light dimmed and shadows stretched across the Astro, Moylan and Hogan found their rhythm, each striking five, while Gleeson—guardian, general and occasional goal-getter—added three of his own.
But let’s talk about Gleeson between the posts: a one-man wall, inspired by the great Tony Reddin, wielding his new keeper’s hurley like Cú Chulainn’s shield. He stopped everything he could—and then some—and this hero refused to be overwhelmed even-though the storm woouldn’t stop coming.
Final score: 23–13. A scoreline that screams dominance.
