Our Under 13D hurlers won the North final last Wednesday evening against a very strong and fancied Newport team on a score line of 2-04 to 0-08 after extra time. This match was played at a very fast tempo with nothing separating the teams for most of the game. With three points down and time up, Nenagh scored a goal from virtually the last puck of the game which brought the match to extra time much to the delight of a huge home crowd. Five minutes per side of extra time ensued and the two sides went at it ‘hammer and tongs’ again. Newport were a point up with three minutes remaining when Charlie Talbot met the ball in mid flight to crash the ball to the back of the net. Heroic defending in the last minute and when the final whistle was blown jubilant scenes could be seen all over the field from players and supporters alike. Well done to all the panel on a fantastic and workmanlike performance as they never gave up. Many thanks to all the supporters who cheered on the boys as it was great to see so many from all the other age groups and their families, it made for a wonderful occasion for the club especially on home turf. The boys now face Fr. Sheehy’s in the Co Semi Final – this game is due to take place next Sat in Clogheen at 4pm.

Under 15
Our Under 15 hurlers wrapped up their year last Thursday with a defeat against Silvermines in the Plate semi final. The lads led by five points at half time after some excellent play from the team as a whole. The second half saw a reversal of fortunes and Silvermines ran out deserving winners despite a valiant effort from the Nenagh boys. Many thanks to all the panel for their efforts throughout the year. The management hope these boys stick together as they have a bright future ahead and with plenty of work on our new fantastic hurling wall facility over the winter there’ll be positive days ahead.
Under 17
Our minors played the North final last Sunday evening week and had a great win over old rivals Toomevara in a superb match between two evenly balanced and well prepared squads. In front of a large crowd in Kilcolman the sides were level on several occasions. An early Johnny O’Reilly goal settled nerves and Nenagh looked comfortable for much of the first half but some simple errors allowed Toome back in the game by half time. The second half was a dogged affair with little between the sides. All square at full time, extra time beckoned. Éire Óg went two points up but this was soon cancelled out and we found ourselves two points down with little left on the clock. But our boys rallied, a point from play was followed by a free in the dying seconds. Sam O’Farrell was accurate but the sliotar fell in the goals much to the absolute delight of the Nenagh supporters giving us a two point cushion. The referee blew the final whistle on the puckout with Nenagh winning on a score line of 2-18 to 0-22. Captain Sean Moylan accepted the cup on behalf of a jubilant squad. Éire Óg Abú!
Following their great victory in the North final last week, the U17s will now face Carrick Swans in the Co Quarter Final. This game will take place next Sunday in Nenagh at 1pm. Please keep an eye on social media and the website for all fixtures.

CAMOGIE NEWS
U12 County Final News
Well done to both U12 teams for reaching the County Finals on Sunday in Boherlahan. Both finals were kindly sponsored by PJ Brett from Aqua Leak Management.
Nenagh 1
Congratulations to the Nenagh 1 team that defeated Kilruane to win the cup for Nenagh Éire Óg. The girls fought to the end and it looked like it was all over when Kilruane scored a goal with only a couple of minutes remaining. However the fighting spirit of the team came to the fore when it needed to and a point followed in quick succession with a goal, both from Grace Cleary, sealed the victory for Nenagh in the dying seconds. While the entire team played their part in this victory, Lauren Grace, Saoirse Ryan and Carly Walsh were immense in winning possession throughout the match to keep Nenagh in touch. Great credit is due to the management team of Tom Boland, Barry Grace, Donal Ryan, Michelle Harty and Caitriona Fahy. Thanks to all the parents and supporters who came to watch a County Final win for Éire Óg 3.04 to 3.02. Hard luck to Kilruane who played a great match. Thanks to Sheedy’s of Centra in Nenagh for providing the food for the celebrations at the club house.
U12 Camogie group celebrate following their Co Final win over Kilruane on Sunday.
Nenagh 2
Nenagh 2 were up next and the weather conditions worsened dramatically for their match against Gortnahoe in Boherlahan. The wind and rain did not make scoring easy and it was nil all at half time. With five minutes to go in the second half Gortnahoe scored two goals that ultimately sealed the victory for the team. 0.0 to 2.0. Well done to the Nenagh girls for reaching the final, and to the Management Team of John Slattery, David Peters, Neil England, Jackie Sheehy Hayes and PJ Brett for all their support this season. It’s definitely onwards and upwards for this great bunch of girls whose commitment has been second to none all season.

The Senior Team face Burgess Duharra in their second match of their Championship Campaign this Saturday at 5pm in Kilcoleman.

Best of luck to the team and please come out and support the seniors next Saturday.
