U19 Football
Well done to our U19 footballers who defeated Newport in the North U19B Football Final on Sat evening. The final score in the game was 4 – 6 to 2 – 10 with two goals each from Cian Carmody and Aodhán O’Connor. Our boys came back into the game well after Newport took an early 5 point lead and led by a point at half time – 3 – 3 to 1 – 6 with Aodhán O’Connor bagging two goals and Cian Carmody scoring one from the penalty spot.
Nenagh started the second half well without scoring and Newport came back to score a goal and a couple of points and went 2 points clear late on. But a brilliant goal by Cian Carmody and late point from Ben Connolly won the game for Nenagh with Seanie Moylan doing a heroic piece of defending late in the game to deny Newport a certain goal. Well done to all involved on a terrific win. They now go on to contest a County Quarter Final which takes place later in the summer.
