SOS Cycle
Thanks to everyone for supporting our first Sink or Spin Cycle on Saturday last – this was a great success with 150 cyclists taking part in what will be an annual event. Special thanks to our sponsors Ivers & Cullinan and Sherry Fitzgerald for their generous sponsorship for this event. Thanks also to JP O’Meara who sponsored the flags and to Mannings who sponsored some of the food. Thanks also to the Gardaí for all their assistance and to all the marshals who helped out on the day.
Specsavers Sponsorship
Nenagh Eire Og are delighted to announce that we have signed a new three year main sponsorship agreement with Specsavers, Nenagh. The club will receive significant financial funding over the next three years that will allow the club to continue it’s adventurous development programme that includes a 2.5km Community Walkway project. Specsavers have supported us since 2019 but this agreement is a huge endorsement for the club’s business and community based plan. We would especially like to thank Orlagh Moynihan, Managing Director and Sandra Cooke, Clinical Director for their ongoing support. We ask that Nenagh Éire Óg members and friends support both Specsavers, Nenagh and all local businesses who have over the years never failed to support our various fundraising ventures.
This sponsorship also includes jerseys for both our senior hurlers and senior camogie teams.

Thanks to everyone who helped out last Sunday evening when we hosted the North senior hurling final in MacDonagh Park. Thanks in particular to our great team of stewards, to our lotto sellers Breda and Josie and to Catherine for co-ordinating everything on the day. Special thanks to Jim, Mattie and Shane who helped prepare the facilities for this game. Everything ran very smoothly on the day thanks to the huge effort from everyone.

Our Under 9 boys made the journey to Puckane on Saturday morning where they played a number of games against Kilruane and Shannon Rovers. This group of boys played admirably in each match and came away content in the knowledge that they had put in a great effort for their team. Thanks to Kilruane and Shannon Rovers for the games. Very well done to all the Nenagh Eire Og teams.

Under 11
The three Under 11 teams travelled to Ballina on Saturday morning to play Ballina in what were three very competitive games. The Nenagh teams battled right to the end and showed some real grit and determination against what was strong opposition from Ballina.
Training continues Tuesday & Friday for hurling at 6 and Wednesday for football at 5.30.
New players are always welcome for either code. Great to see new faces joining over the last few weeks and we look forward to seeing more new boys.
Three U11 groups who lined out in Ballina last weekend.
Under 13
Nenagh Under 13A team played Borrisoleigh on Tuesday evening in MacDonagh park. As the Autumn evening drew in, the match unfolded as both a competitive and highly entertaining game with some excellent skills and determination on display from both teams. This was particularly evident in the match up’s between the staunch Nenagh Éire Óg backs and the nifty Borrisoleigh forwards with both groups in full flow as they saw the vast majority of the action during both halves of the game. Despite the competitive nature of the match Borrisoleigh ran out convincing winners as the Borris boys found the Nenagh Éire Óg net on five occasions while Nenagh just couldn’t generate the necessary momentum in order to rattle the Borris goal. Well done to this group of Nenagh Éire Óg boys who put in a gallant effort right through to the end of the game.
Nenagh Under 13D played a very competitive match against Burgess on Tuesday evening in MacDonagh park. The Nenagh boys were equal to the Burgess test right throughout the game and traded scores to finish 1-7 to 1-6 at the end with the win going to Burgess on this occasion.
Training continues Wednesday and Friday evenings as usual.
