CAMOGIE NEWS
Seniors/Minors
The Seniors arranged challenge matches against Clonara last Friday night and Killimor on Sunday to prepare for their first league outing of the season this Friday in Kilcolman against Burgess. The seniors are improving everytime they get together. Training continues on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Any former player looking to come back and train is most welcome.
Well done to Sarah Quigley and Caroline Browne who were on the Tipperary team that defeated Dublin in the Division 2 league relegation match at the weekend.
Under 14s
Fresh from their great performance against Thurles last weekend, our u14 girls welcomed Rockwell Rovers to McDonagh Park on Saturday evening. The Nenagh girls found the going hard and we found ourselves 4 points down, a lead which would be been more but for some great defending by the full backline. A penalty save by super-keeper Eleanor Boland seemed to lift the team and we scored a quick goal and point to lead by one point at half time.
Unfortunately we just could not get our game going in the 2nd half. Despite some heroics in the backs and good running in midfield, we lost out in the end 4-6 to 2-5. Well done to Rockwell on their win.
We must give a special mention to Lauren Grace, who was one of our best players on the night, despite carrying a serious injury picked up early in the 2nd half. We wish you well in your recovery Lauren!
Under 12s
Both u12 teams play their first two games in the championship this week.
Nenagh 1 make the trip to Moycarkey for an Away game on Tuesday evening at 8pm.
Nenagh 2 will make the shorter trip to Burgess for their first game on Wednesday evening at 6.30pm.
Best of luck to both teams on their travels!
