Long Puck

Juvenile and Camogie long puck winners Éanna Tucker, Cian Ryan, Naoise Kelly and Carli Walsh receiving their medals from Barry Heffernan.

We had a very special GAA community morning on Saturday last in MacDonagh Park as the Long Puck competition in aid of the Dillon Quirke Foundation was held. Thanks to everyone who helped organise this event and to everyone who took part on the day. The following were the winners in the different categories:

Camogie: U12 Naoise Kelly & U14 Carli Walsh

Juvenile: U11 Donagh Farrell, U13 Cian Ryan & U15 Éanna Tucker

Adult: Killian Malone

Over 40: Cathal Farrell.

Well done to all our winners and special congratulations to father and son Cathal and Donagh Farrell who both won prizes in their categories.

A total of €570 was raised – this will be donated to the Dillon Quirke Foundation.

North Tipp Presentation Night

The North Tipp Presentation Night took place on Friday night last in Kilruane MacDonagh’s GAA Complex in Cloughjordan. Two Nenagh Éire Óg players were honoured with player of the year awards in 2022 with Jake Morris receiving the Senior Hurler award and Cian Carmody receiving the U19B Footballer award. On the night Club President, Jimmy Morris, accepted the award on behalf of grandson Jake while Cian Carmody was present to accept his award. 2022 senior captain, Barry Heffernan, was also present to collect the North senior medals won in 2022 – well done to all.

Come Dine With Me

Date for your Diary – The Club are holding a Come Dine with me on Friday 3^rd March in the HiB. This is a One Club event with tickets available from the senior camogie and juvenile clubs. Tickets cost €30 and are limited so book yours now by texting 086 085 5165. Great night guaranteed – celebrity chef and more details to follow next week.

Membership

Membership for 2023 is now due and can be paid through Foireann.ie.

If you are already set up on Foireann simply login and select and pay your membership type here. If you do not have an account, go to Foireann.ie and choose the New user – Register option – once you have set up an account your membership can then be paid here.

We encourage all when they are paying their membership this year to do this through Foireann – any queries on this please contact Enda Long at 087 221 3954. Membership can also be paid to Enda Long or any Committee member.

For insurance purposes we ask all our players to please pay their membership ASAP before training starts over the next few weeks.

Membership rates remain the same as last year and are as follows:

Full Membership – €50

Student/OAP/Unemployed/Juvenile – €30

Family options are also available as follows:

Option 1 – One adult + multiple U18s – €80

Option 2 – Two adults + multiple U18s – €100

Lotto

There was no winner of this week’s lotto jackpot. The numbers drawn were 12, 16, 27 & 30.

Easter Camp

The Club are running an Easter Gaelic Games Camp on April 4th, 5th & 6th, from 10am to 1pm.

This is open to boys and girls up to the age of 12 and costs €40 per child. To book or for further information contact Niall at 087 408 6439.

U15 North Tipp Football Panel

Congratulations to the Nenagh Éire Óg boys Michael MacCloone and Adam Boland who both made the U15 North Tipperary Football panel.

Everyone at Nenagh Éire Óg wishes the boys and their team mates the very best of luck.

All Ireland Colleges Win

Congratulations to Sean Phelan who was part of the UL squad who won the All Ireland Intermediate Hurling Final yesterday. This is a second title in a row for UL with Sean winning the back to back titles – well done Séan.

Croke Cup Quarter Final

MacDonagh Park was once again a busy place on Saturday when, following the Long Puck in the morning, the field hosted the All Ireland schools quarter final between St Kieran’s Kilkenny and St Raphaels from Loughrea. Once again thanks to everyone who helped out to ensure that all ran smoothly on the day – Kierans ran out winners to reach the semi final of the Croke Cup.
