Camogie Notes
U12
Both teams played last week. Good win for the Blue team against Lorrha and a great effort by the Navy team against Borrisoleigh. Two games for the Navy team this week against Ballina and Slieve Felim and Blue team playing Portroe. The numbers playing the games and training are really good and the girls are improving all the time.
U14
We lost out to a very athletic Brian Borus team in the cup B county semi-final in Boherlahan last Tuesday evening. They were 3 points up, 5 mins into the second half but then Borus started to dominate all over the pitch and they ended up losing by a large margin in the end. Five of our players travelled over three hours back from the Gaeltacht or from holidays to play and energy levels were bound to wane as a result. Still there is huge talent and heart in this team and there is no doubt they will experience success in the years ahead. Many thanks to our parents who supported the girls home and away throughout the season. Thanks also to head coach Johnny Slattery for his huge commitment to this team and to his co-mentors and all who helped out with this team throughout the championship.
Tipperary
The Tipperary Senior Camogie team played Antrim in Round 3 of the All Ireland Championship last Saturday and had their third win on a score line of 1-17 to 0-6. Our very own Grace O’Brien started corner forward and scored 1-5 from play, with a terrific player of the match performance. Next up is an away game to Limerick
in 2 weeks time.
