Junior A: Our junior A team will look to maintain their one hundred per cent winning start to the championship on Friday evening when they play Toomevara in Moneygall at 7.30pm.
Minor A: Our minor hurlers were scheduled to play Kilruane MacDonagh’s on Tuesday evening, but that game was called off since Kilruane gave the Blues a walkover.
Best Wishes: Best wishes to Tommy Heffernan, Daire Quinn and the Tipperary under-21 team in Wednesday evening’s Munster final against Clare in Semple Stadium, Thurles (throw-in 7.30pm).
Commiserations: Hard luck to Paul O’Leary who was a member of the Tipperary minor football panel which lost to Monaghan in an All-Ireland quarter-final played in Longford on Monday afternoon.
County Championship Guide: In round three Nenagh Éire Óg beat Upperchurch-Drombane while Roscrea beat Moycarkey-Borris 1-12 to 1-11. Those results leave two remaining games in round three: Borris-Ileigh face Burgess on August 10th while Templederry Kenyons take on Toomevara on August 17th. Following those games four teams in all progress to round four where these teams will play the losing divisional finalists. Thus far we know that Silvermines (north finalists) and Carrick Swans (south finalists) will feature in round four. Two divisional finals remain to be played: Loughmore-Castleiney v Drom & Inch (mid final fixed for August 11th), Clonoulty-Rossmore v Éire Óg Annacarty-Donohill (west final fixed for August 11th).
Therefore Nenagh Éire Óg could meet Silvermines, Carrick Swans, the loser of the Loughmore-Castleiney v Drom & Inch clash or the loser of the west final between Clonoulty-Rossmore and Éire Óg Annacarty-Donohill in the fourth round. The winners of the fourth round games progress to the county quarter-finals – north champions Kildangan and south champions Killenaule are already assured of their place in the last eight.
Éire Óg’s fourth round game could potentially take place on the week-ending of August 24th.

Under-12: The under-12 group one hurlers qualified for the north final on Wednesday last following a hard-fought victory over Roscrea. In an excellent game of hurling Éire Óg came through by the narrowest of margins on a scoreline of 0-11 to 1-7. The group one team have now joined the group four team in the finals – both finals take place in Borrisoleigh on Saturday next, August 10th with the group four game against Templederry Kenyons at 11.30am and the group one final versus the winners of Borrisokane and Kildangan at 1.30pm. Please come out and support both teams on the day!
Under-14: The north Tipperary under-14A hurling quarter-final against Kildangan scheduled for August 8th will now take place a week later on Wednesday, August 15th in Puckane.
Under-16: Well done to the Nenagh Éire Óg under-16A hurlers who beat an excellent Toomevara on Monday evening at MacDonagh Park, Nenagh on a 3-8 to 1-10 scoreline. The under-16A championship continues with an away match against Borrisokane on Monday, August 15th at 6.45pm.

Congratulations: Congratulations to the Tipperary under-16 Camogie team which won the All-Ireland final on Saturday last when the Premier defeated Galway in Portlaoise. Éire Óg had four girls on the panel – Saoirse Gleeson, Rachel Maher, Racher Spillane and Grace O’Brien. This is a fantastic achievement and we send our congratulations to all involved.

Under-16: We would like to congratulate the Tipperary under-16 management for reaching the All-Ireland final against Galway on August 4th and, of course, our club players Rachel Maher, Grace O’Brien, Rachel Spillane and Saoirse Gleeson who are members of this very talented team.
Junior: Our junior team played the Munster Junior A Plate final last Sunday evening in Newport against an experienced Newport-Ballinahinch team. It turned out to be the Camogie game of the year with both sides doing Tipperary proud. Nenagh lined out with nine minor players and four players playing their second game of the day, but you wouldn’t know it such was the intensity that they brought to the game. Nenagh normally compete at the junior B grade, but the Blues reached the final on merit and were absolutely terrific in the decider. In the end, sadly, Éire Óg lost out on a 4-13 to 7-8 scoreline. Bag Packing: The club recently had a bag packing fundraiser in Dunnes Stores and we would like to thank everyone that contributed and of course all those that took part. We will be holding another one in Tesco on August 2nd and 3rd for the juvenile section of the club. We could do with similar support and help in bag packing on those dates. Summer Camp: Our juveniles and their friends are enjoying a great week of fun and coaching at the annual Summer Camp this Monday to Friday. Nothing much changes. A hurley and ball can still make a child’s summer and give them a healthier future. If you know a boy or girl who would benefit from joining Nenagh Éire Óg, please contact any club officer or member and we will get back to you with the relevant training times. All are welcome.
Under-12: The under-12 group one and four hurlers travelled to Littleton to play Moycarkey-Borris in challenge games on Sunday last – many thanks to the home club for their kind hospitality on the day. Both teams are fixed to the play their respective north semi-finals in MacDonagh Park, Nenagh on Friday night next at 6.30pm.
Under-16: Our under-16s were unlucky to go down to Newport by a puck of a ball in a tight game on Monday, July 15th. The lads recovered well from that defeat by beating Ballina 3-20 to 0-5 at MacDonagh Park, Nenagh on Monday, July 22nd. This win brings the lads right back into contention in a very open group. The Éire Óg under-16s are away to Roscrea on Monday, July 29th and would love to see some support for the Blues at that encounter.
Guess The Score: There was no winner in the ‘Guess the Score’ fundraiser. Seller prizes went to juveniles Seán Phelan and Ben White. The prize money will now be awarded to charity. More to follow.

The group four team will play Toomevara in Nenagh on Friday, July 26th while the group one team’s opposition has yet to be decided. That game is also scheduled for the 26th.

Féile na nGael: Our Féile na nGael team enjoyed a fantastic weekend at the All-Ireland finals in Limerick. Our host club Killeedy could not have been more welcoming to our players and made us feel instantly at home. We wish to thank the club and the families for their hospitality and many new friendships have been formed. The girls enjoyed a feast of Camogie playing Killeedy, Newcastlewest, Sarsfields New Inn and Davitt’s of Derry before playing Dicksboro of Kilkenny in the Gaelic Grounds in the final. Unfortunately the Cats proved too strong winning on a scoreline of 3-2 to 1-1. However despite the result the whole weekend has been a positive experience for all our players and many lasting memories and friendships have been formed. Thanks to all who so generously sponsored the panel over the last few months, your kindness will not be forgotten. To the parents, management and committee the whole club owes you a debt of gratitude for all your hard work over the last few months. And finally the players themselves – they have done the whole club and parish of Nenagh proud with their hard work ethic, skilful displays and determination over the last few months. The host families have nothing, but praise for you all for how polite and well-behaved you were over the weekend. The whole club is very proud of you all.

The group one team had a convincing win and have now secured a semi-final place in the knock-out stages. The group four team fought hard, but a strong second half performance from the home team secured the victory. The group one and four teams are at home to Borris-Ileigh in the final rounds on Friday next.

SENIOR
Senior: On Friday evening last in Boherlahan our senior hurlers defeated Mullinahone to progress to round three of this year’s championship – final score was 1-18 to 0-9. The draw took place on Monday night for round three – Éire Óg will face Upperchurch-Drombane in the third round. The remaining fixtures in the third round are: Roscrea v Moycarkey-Borris, Templederry Kenyons v Toomevara and Borris-Ileigh v Cappawhite or Burgess. The fixture details and venues for these games are to be confirmed.
Junior A: Following their recent league success our junior A team begin their championship campaign this weekend when they play Kilruane MacDonagh’s. Fixture to be confirmed.
Junior B: Our junior B team begin their championship campaign this weekend against Ballina. Fixture to be confirmed.
Minor A: Our minor hurlers began the defence of their north title on Sunday evening last when the defeated Newport Gaels on a scoreline of 1-18 to 0-17. Round two takes places this Wednesday evening at 8pm in MacDonagh Park, Nenagh when Borris-Ileigh will provide the opposition.
JUVENILE
Under-6 & Under-8: Training continues on Wednesdays at 5.15pm and Saturdays at 10am. New members welcome.
Under-10: Training as normal on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Blitz season will be here soon so keep training boys.
Under-12: The group one team continued their winning ways in the Go Games league with a home win against Lorrha on Thursday last with the group four players having a bye. The next round takes both groups away to Toomevara on Friday evening at 6.30pm.
Under-14: The next round in the under-14A hurling championship is away to Kilruane MacDonagh’s on Wednesday, July 3rd at 6.30pm in Cloughjordan.
Under-16: Our under-16 hurlers kick off their championship campaign on Monday, July 8th at home to Borris-Ileigh. Please come out to support the lads!
Summer Camp: The summer camp this year is on from Monday, July 22nd- 26th from 2-5pm for boys and girls aged five to 14 years of age. The cost is €40 per child and €70 max per family. Expert coaches lined up. Non-members welcome.

Bon Voyage: We wish to say bon voyage to Louise Hickey who has packed her bags for Australia. Louise has been a stalwart of the club playing corner-forward ever since we established a junior Camogie team. Last year she captained the team to the Munster junior league title. Have a wonderful time Louise. We are missing you already!
Community Games: Hard luck to our Community Games team who were beaten by a last second goal in the Munster final last weekend in Tralee by Ogonnelloe of Clare. The girls and their hard-working mentors put in a huge effort and they did the club proud with their displays on the playing fields. Best wishes to Ogonnelloe in the All-Ireland series.
Junior B: our juniors played Valley Rovers of Cork on Friday last in the Munster league and despite a brave effort we came up short. We played Burgess on Monday in the third round of the Munster league. Please check our Facebook page for details of this fixture.
Féile na nGael: Our Féile team play their first game of the All-Ireland finals this Friday at 2pm in Kileedy. They play two further games on Saturday. Best of luck to their girls and their management team!
Minor: Our minors play Cashel on July 9th in Nenagh in the championship.
Inter-County: Well done to Michelle Collins, Grace O’Brien, Rachel Spillane, Rachel Maher, Sarah Quigley, Aislinn O’Brien and Saoirse Gleeson who all featured for the Tipperary udner-16 A & B teams over the last two weeks in the championship.

An exciting week in prospect for the Blues with the Nenagh Éire Óg senior hurlers preparing for a county senior hurling championship clash with Mullinahone in Boherlahan on Friday evening!
SENIOR
County championship: Our senior hurlers have been drawn to play Mullinahone in round two of the county senior hurling championship on Friday, June 28th in Boherlahan at 7.30pm. This is a vital game for the club and your support would be appreciated in Boherlahan on Friday evening.
Junior A: Well done to our junior A hurlers who completed a three in-a-row of league titles on Sunday evening last in Dolla – Éire Óg beat Borris-Ileigh 0-13 to 0-11 in the final. The junior A hurlers will now hope to successfully defend their junior A championship title in the coming weeks. Éire Óg have been drawn in group two alongside Toomevara, Roscrea, Kilruane MacDonagh’s and Moneygall. Éire Óg campaign will start on the weekend of July 5th.
Minor A: Our minor hurlers begin the defence of their north championship on Sunday, June 30th when they travel to Newport to play Newport Gaels. This game will take place at 12 noon and your support would be appreciated.
Tipperary Minors: Best wishes to Barry Heffernan, James Mackey, Andrew Coffey, Donnacha Quinn and the Tipperary minor team which faces Limerick in a provincial semi-final at Semple Stadium, Thurles on Wednesday.
JUVENILE
Bishopstown Trip: Our under-6, under-8 and under-10 teams travelled to Cork last Saturday for what turned out to be a fantastic day of hurling and fun for all involved. Thanks to all the mentors, the parents who travelled and especially the boys whose behaviour did the club proud. Congratulations to Bishopstown GAA on hosting such a successful day for all the teams involved.
Under-12: Both the groups one and four teams enjoyed victories over Kildangan in the latest round of the Go Games league. Group one’s next round is at home to Lorrha and has been brought forward to Thursday, June 27th at 6.30pm because of Friday night’s senior match. The group four team will not be in action this weekend.
Under-14: Our under-14 hurlers enjoyed a good win to kick start their north Tipperary under-14A hurling championship campaign. Against a good Borrisokane side the lads showed great focus from the start to finish and ran out winners on a scoreline of Borrisokane 1-7 Nenagh Éire Óg 2-11. The next round match is at home to Toomevara on Wednesday, June 26th at 6.30pm.
Summer Camp: The Éire Óg Summer Camp this year runs from Monday, July 22nd to Friday, July 26th (2-5pm). The cost is €40 per child and a maximum of €70 per family. It is open to boys and girls ages five to fourteen years of age. Non-members welcome. It’s a great week of fun and activity for the kids with some expert coaching on hand.

Under-12: Our under-12s head to Tralee next Saturday, June 29th for the Munster finals of the Community Games. We have organised a bus for this event which will meet in the hurling field next Saturday morning 7.15am. There is a small charge of €5 for children and €10 for adults. The first game is fixed for 11am. We would like to wish the team under the guidance of Greg, Philip, Pat and Catriona all the very best of luck.
Under-14: Our under-14s had two more challenge matches over the weekend in their final preparation for the Féile which takes place the weekend of July 5th, 6th and 7th in Killeedy, County limerick. The team are looking forward to the challenge and we would like to wish Noel, Martin, Maeve, Catherine and Mairead with the team all the very best of luck.
Presentation: On Tuesday, June 25th we are having a presentation for both groups, the Community Games and the Féile team, at MacDonagh Park after their training sessions. All are welcome to attend.
Under-16 & Minor: The under-16s and minors are training two evenings a week with the under-16s preparing for a county semi-final with the date to be confirmed. The minors are starting their championship on July 9th in Nenagh against Cashel. Keep up the good work girls.
Junior: our juniors are away this Friday, June 28th to Valley Rovers in Brinny, Cork. We are running a bus for this match meeting in the hurling field at 4.15pm. They are playing Wolf Tones (Clare) the following Wednesday, June 3rd in Nenagh.

County Senior Hurling Championship: On Sunday evening last in The Ragg our senior hurlers recorded a three-point victory (0-15 to 0-12) over Thurles Sarsfields in the first round. Following Sunday night’s draw the Blues will face Mullinahone in round two on Friday, June 28th.
Junior A Hurling League: Our junior A team take on Borris-Ileigh in this year’s league final. This game is scheduled to take place this weekend. See fixtures for details.
County Board Draw: The second monthly County Board draw for 2013-14 is being hosted by the Nenagh Éire Óg GAA Club and on Friday, June 21st in Andy’s Bar. Club winner from the first draw, Deirdre Lowney, will be presented with her prize of a car /€10,000. Aside from the normal prizes on offer there will be other confined club prizes on the night. All club members are invited to attend and food and entertainment will be provided – a reminder that people can still sign up for the draw by contacting Marion Ryan or any club officer.

Cork Trip: Our under-8, under-10 and udner-12 teams are off to Bishopstown in Cork on Saturday, June 22nd to compete in a series of blitzes. Buses will leave the Complex at 8am and boys are to wear full Éire Óg kit.
Under-12: Our group one and four hurlers both recorded wins over Ballina in the latest round of the Go Games in Nenagh last week. It’s a busy week ahead for the boys with the postponed games against Kildangan going ahead (date to be decided) and round six games away to Roscrea on Friday, June 21st for both groups.
Under-14: The under-14 hurling championship kicks off this Wednesday, June 19th away to Borrisokane at 6.45pm and runs for the next five weeks. The boys have been training hard and we wish them the best of luck. Please come out and support the team!
Bag Packing: Thank you to everybody who contributed to the success of the bag packing fundraiser in Dunnes Stores last weekend.

Senior: Our senior hurlers play Thurles Sarsfields in the first round of the county championship on Sunday evening next. This game takes place in the Ragg at 7.30pm. The Blues’ clash with Thurles Sarsfields will form the second part of an attractive double header – at 6pm in the Ragg Boherlahan-Dualla take on Templederry Kenyons in the county senior hurling championship.
We appeal to everyone associated with the club to come out on Sunday evening and support the lads in what is sure to be a wonderful occasion. How Éire Óg progress in the county series will have implications for 2014 so it is vitally important that the efforts of the lads are supported.
The eight losers of this first round in the county championship will enter the Ó Riain Cup (which has relegation attached) while the eight winners from round one of the county championship play-off with the eight losing divisional semi-finalists. Critically, the winners of this round will be guaranteed a place in the top-tier of the 2014 county senior hurling championship. Those eight winners will join the eight divisional finalists to make up the top-sixteen in 2014.
Junior A: On Saturday last our junior A hurlers qualified for the league final courtesy of a four-point win over Burgess. Final score: 1-19 to 1-15. We now play Borris-Ileigh in the league final.
JUVENILE
Under-12: The teams in groups one and four both recorded wins against the Silvermines in the latest round of the under-12 hurling Go Games league. The next round of matches is against Kildangan in Nenagh on Friday, June 14th. Best of luck to both teams!
Bag Packing: Our annual bag packing fundraiser is on this Saturday, June 15th in Dunnes Stores. Help is needed and parents will be asked during the week to please give an hour of their time. Thanks to Dunnes Stores for all their assistance
Trip to Cork: A reminder to all parents of under-8s/10s & 12s that the trip to Bishopstown in Cork is on Saturday, June 22nd. It will be a series of well-organised fun blitzes and the boys are to wear full Éire Óg kit including their new training tops. The permission slips should be returned to trainers immediately. More details will be sent home with the boys during the week.
Date for the diary: The Juvenile Summer Camp is on July 22nd to July 26th this year. Always a very popular camp it is open to boys and girls with non-members welcome.

The girls have a blitz in Toomevara on June 21st.Primary Games: Well done to both Rachel O’Connor and Barry Coffey who featured for Tipperary in the Primary Games at half-time during the Munster senior hurling semi-final between Tipperary and Limerick.
Community Games: Well done to the girls who beat Cashel in the county final of the Community Games last week. This is a fantastic achievement and they advance to play in the Munster finals in Tralee on June 29th. These girls will have a busy schedule as they play in the Féile na nGael on the following weekend of July 6th.
Bag packing: We will be bag packing in Dunnes Stores on the weekend of July 12th and 13th. We ask all our under-16s and junior players to please help out over the weekend and give your names to Denise Morris.
Cumann mBunscoil: Well done to St Mary’s who retained their under-13 county title after a great win over Boherlahan in Semple Stadium on Thursday last. Also well done to the under-11 team who finished runners up in their competition. We wish to thank all the teachers and coaches in St Mary’s for so generously volunteering their time to promote Camogie among the girls. St Mary’s plays a vital role in the development of our players and the teachers’ hard work is greatly appreciated by the club.

SENIOR
Senior: Last Thursday night the draw took place for the first round of the county senior hurling championship. Éire Óg have been drawn against Thurles Sarsfields with the game scheduled to take place on June 15th-16th. On Sunday afternoon last we defeated Kilruane MacDonagh’s in the Dr Fogarty Cup semi-final (County Senior Hurling Challenge Cup) – 2-22 to 2-17 in Cloughjordan. Éire Óg now face Burgess in the final – in their respective semi-final Burgess beat Clonoulty-Rossmore 2-17 to 1-11.
Junior A: On Saturday evening last our junior A hurlers defeated Roscrea in the last group game of the league. The final score was: Éire Óg 2-25 Roscrea 0-16. This win has qualified Éire Óg for the knock-out stages of the league. Éire Óg face Burgess in the junior A league semi-final in Cloughjordan on Saturday, June 8th (7pm).
Junior B: Our junior B team conclude their league campaign this Thursday evening when they take on Borrisokane. This game takes place in Borrisokane at 7.30pm.
Inter-county: Best wishes to Michael Heffernan and the Tipperary panel against Limerick on Sunday in the Gaelic Grounds.

Under-10 & Community Games: Our Community Games team lost out to Roscrea on Wednesday last in the North-Mid final in Nenagh. Well done to these lovely young hurlers for getting this far in the competition and good luck to Roscrea as they progress.
Under-12 Go Games: Our group one hurlers got their campaign off to a start with a victory over Borrisokane on Friday last. In an exciting game Dylan Murphy made a number of excellent saves in goal while Barry Coffey & Cian Griffin got the Éire Óg goals. Our group four team came from behind to snatch a late draw in the first round game against Templederry. There were fine performances from Cameron Spillane & Cian Galvin while Dylan Noonan-Kelly & Adam Ryan scored the two goals. Both teams were due to play Silvermines in the next round on Bank Holiday Monday.
Under-14 Football: Our under-14s won the North Tipperary football title on Monday, May 27th. The team was led by captain Peter Folan and recorded a 3-8 to 1-2 victory over Borrisokane. Congratulations to Peter and the team on a fantastic victory. On Saturday last the team contested the county semi-final against Galtee Rovers which they narrowly lost on a scoreline of 5-5 to 4-5. The team showed great fight and determination to claw back a seven-point deficit at half time. Jake Morris struck three goals in the second half and the score was level with five minutes to go. Unfortunately the team couldn’t get ahead and suffered a narrow defeat following a brave performance. Attention now turns to the hurling championship and full attendance is required at training on Monday and Fridays. A challenge match will take place against Patrickswell on Wednesday. Full attendance required.
Under-16: Preparations are underway for the hurling championship. Full attendance at all training sessions is required.
Guess the Score: The juvenile club are running a ‘Guess the Score’ competition for the Tipperary v Limerick match which the boys are selling at €2 a line. Please support the players.

Community Games: Congratulations to our Community Games team who won the North final last week defeating an excellent Burgess team by seven points.
Junior: Our juniors played Newport on Monday in the opening round of the Munster League. Check Facebook for the result of this fixture. Éire Óg are also due to play Burgess, Valley Rovers (Cork) and Wolfe Tones (Clare).
Civic Reception: On Friday last Nenagh Town Council recognised the club’s achievements last year and awarded us a civic reception where we were presented with a framed certificate. We wish to thank the council for their kindness and the wonderful refreshments provided on the night.
Come Dine With Me: On Friday last over one hundred people attended our ‘Come Dine With Me’ fundraiser in the Hibernian Inn with celebratory guest on the night being former Munster, Leinster and Irish rugby player Trevor Hogan. We wish to thank everyone who helped out on the night including DJ Mickey Mac, the staff of the Hibernian Inn and Trevor Hogan for so generously volunteering his time.
