Under 13
Last Sunday marked a very special day in the Éire Óg Juvenile Club competitive calendar as our three under 13 football teams contest North Tipperary finals at A, C & D grade.
Up first were our young Under 13D team who played Silvermines in Borrisoleigh. After a nail-biting finish Nenagh emerged as champions and captain Ruaidhri O’Brien duly lifted the trophy to the resounding cheers of the team and their families. It was a truly lovely occasion for the boys who have been together on this team since they were 5 years old. Having grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins present for this win made it even more special for the boys.
The next group in North final action were the Under 13C team who played Borrisokane. The boys played superb football and could have had a flurry of goals on the first half but for some very solid goalkeeping from Borrisokane. The Nenagh boys gave it everything right up to the final whistle but Borrisokane emerged champions. Congratulations to Borrisokane and best wishes in the county stages. Well done to the Nenagh C team, they were a credit to themselves.
Last up for the day were the Under 13A team who played Toomevara for the North Tipperary A champions title. This was a hugely exciting and full blooded match, with end to end fabulous football being played by both teams. The Nenagh boys ran out winners to be crowned North A Tipperary champions with Fionn Tucker hoisting the cup to the Nenagh supporters delight. This Noth A football winners title is a back to back accolade for the management group, well done and congratulations to all involved.
Everyone at Éire Óg wish to congratulate all the Under 13 boys who togged in these finals and also congratulate the management group on three fantastic performances.
