A jolly Darragh Droog arrives at Semple Stadium on Sunday evening<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/div>\n

Our senior hurlers got off to the perfect start in this year’s FBD Insurance senior hurling championship on Sunday evening when we recorded a 1-19 to 0-11 win over Holycross Ballycahill. Played in an eerily quiet Semple Stadium with only 200 in total allowed inside the building, Nenagh finished the first half strongly thanks to a 27th minute Michael Heffernan goal. Incidentally, this game created a little piece of club history as it was the first time we played a match streamed live on the internet thanks to the county board’s new service. Our next game is against Clonoulty Rossmore on Sunday, 7th August, in Semple Stadium at 7pm. <\/p>\n

Our junior-A hurlers play Kilruane MacDonaghs in the opening round of the North Tipperary championship this Saturday evening at 7.30pm in Borrisokane. Please note the change of venue and time to what was earlier advertised.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

North Tipperary Junior-C hurling champions 2010<\/p><\/div>\n

After a number of disappointing results in recent years in the junior-B championship, the club has elected to enter our third team into the junior-C championship this year where they will play Borris-Ileigh, Ballinahinch and Ballina. Under the management of Brian Maxwell, this team will play Borris-Ileigh in their opening match on Sunday, 16 August, at 7pm in Borrisoleigh. <\/p>\n

Tour of the Lake for Living Links Nenagh<\/h2>\n

Eddie Hynes along with Shane Connolly and Eddie Tucker will cycle the tour of the lake<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/div>\n

Club man Eddie Hynes, aided by Eddie Tucker, Shane Connolly and 35 other hardy cyclists, will complete a full lap of Lough Derg, totalling 106 km, to raise money for local charity, Living Links Nenagh. In 2015, Eddie’s son Ois\u00edn became a victim of suicide and this wonderful charity provided invaluable support to the Hynes family during those tough times. The cyclists aim to raise \u20ac5,000 for Living Links and we are asking our supporters to please dig deep into your pockets and help. If you would like to donate, you can access their Go Fund Me page here<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Under-6<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

Under-6 training will be every Saturday morning from ten o’clock to eleven. Hoping to see lots of new faces on the field, please contact one of the management group in advance via the club’s social media sites if you would like to join so that we can direct you to the relevant Covid protocols and registration process to ensure safe training for your child. <\/span><\/p>\n

Under-8 boys h<\/span>urling training will continue each Tuesday evening from six to seven and Saturday mornings from ten o’clock to eleven. New members (boys born in 2012 or 2013) are always welcome. <\/span><\/p>\n

Under-8 boys football training is held every Wednesday evening from half-past five to half-past six, everyone welcome, a reminder that gum shields are compulsory for football so please make sure each child brings their own to training. <\/span><\/p>\n

Thank you to all the parents who encourage practicing of both codes at home between training sessions, this is so important to the children developing their skills and confidence on the ball and ultimately their enjoyment of the game. <\/span><\/p>\n

For any child returning to training specific guidelines and requirements for their safe return have been issued on the various group communications. Thank you to those who volunteered as Covid officers for the different age groups, without this framework and support from parents return to play would not be possible. Thank you to the parents for your patience and co-operation with the new Covid procedures around return to play. Please continue to follow all of the GAA and HSE guidelines.

\nLast Wednesday we had our first championship match, despite losing to a good Ballina team, everyone put in a great effort. Our next match is Wednesday 29th in Puckane against Kiladangan.<\/p>\n

\nWe played our first competitive match of the year against Kiladangan in Puckane on Sunday morning. After a very even first half, we got caught by two sucker punch goals just after half time. Despite dominating the rest of the game, we couldn’t make it show on the scoreboard and Kiladangan went on to win 4-5 to 1-5. Best for Nenagh on the day were Eimear Brislane and Ella O’Brien.
\nTraining continues Monday and Thursday 7-8pm Thursday at \u00c9ire \u00d3g.<\/p>\n

\nOur two under-12 teams had their first games of the season this week. Nenagh 2 were first up, playing a strong Kilruane team in MacDonagh Park on Thursday. After taking the first half to get settled, we came back well in the second. All sixteen girls gave everything they had but lost out to Kilruane 6-2 to 2-3. Best of luck to Kilruane in the rest of the championship.<\/p>\n

\nTeam 2 played Portroe in a challenge match on Friday evening. A strong display from every one of the girls saw us come away with a good win. Thanks to Portroe for a great game and best of luck in the championship.<\/p>\n

\nOur training time this week is Monday 6-7pm. All are welcome to join us.
\nTeam 1 play away to Kilruane 1 on Thursday evening at 7.30pm in Cloughjordan.
