Running for Josie\/Blues’ 10KM\/5KM Family Run\/Walk<\/h2>\n

Next Sunday see the annual Blues’ 10KM and 5KM family run and walk starting at 10:30am in MacDonagh Park. This year we are partnering with Kilruane MacDonagh’s hurler Seamus Hennessy who is aiming to raise \u20ac200,000 for Pieta House by running the Antarctic Ice Marathon. Entry costs \u20ac15 for the 10KM run, \u20ac10 for the 5KM run while the 5KM walk costs \u20ac5 per family and you can register online here.<\/a><\/p>\n

On Wednesday, Tipperary under-20 Gaelic football manager David Power revealed his championship panel for the upcoming Munster campaign and we were thrilled to learn the exciting news that Conor McCarthy has been included. This is a remarkable achievement for Conor considering the amount of club football he plays compared to others who were hoping to be included. They face Cork on Saturday June 16th in P\u00e1irc U\u00ed Rinn at <\/em>19:30 and we wish Conor and the team the very best of luck. <\/p>\n

Grace in action against Meath on Saturday last<\/p><\/div>\n

On Saturday the Tipperary senior camogie team faced Meath in the opening round of the All-Ireland series and recorded a 6-14 to 0-10 over the Royal county. Grace O’ Brien started while Sarah Quigley was an unused substitute despite two clean sheets against Limerick and Cork in the Munster championship. <\/p>\n

In the Munster minor hurling championship on Sunday, Tipperary defeated Clare 2-14 to 1-12. Cian O’ Farrell helped himself to 1-1 from centre-forward before dropping deep late on to help out the defence while Se\u00e1n Phelan had a superb game at wing-back. The team must await the results from the final round of games next Sunday to learn if they will qualify for the Munster final. <\/p>\n

In the Munster senior hurling championship Tipperary, unfortunately exited the competition following a disappointing 1-23 to 1-21 defeat to Clare. Jake Morris was introduced as a second half substitute and was very unlucky to see a shot ricochet off the Town End goal post which would have been a fantastic goal. D\u00e1ire Quinn and Barry Heffernan were also part of the panel.<\/p>\n

Our senior hurlers make a return to competitive action on Tuesday evening when they travel to The Ragg to take on Drom & Inch at 8pm in the county senior league. Preparations will now begin in earnest for the North Tipperary senior hurling semi-final against Kiladangan which is expected to take place in the final weekend in July. <\/p>\n

Our junior-A championship game against Knockshegowna last week was postponed after Knockshegowna sought a postponement. We are now due to face Roscrea on Saturday evening, June 16th, at 19:30 in Toomevara in our next game.<\/p>\n

Last Sunday we were pleasantly surprised to see our club were featured in the official match programme for the Munster championship game between Tipperary and Waterford. Tipperary fought back to secure a late draw against the D\u00e9ise. <\/em><\/p>\n

The under-8 team played a blitz in Newport Saturday morning. Newport, Sean Treacy’s, Ballinahinch and Thurles Gaels took part. Huge thanks to Newport for having us and we look forward to a return visit over the summer. Training continues as usual during the week and we welcome Ballina next Saturday for a blitz.<\/div>\n

The under-10s travelled to Kiladangan last Saturday morning where all players got two hurling games each followed by a game of Gaelic football. Hurling training continues this Wednesday at 5:15pm.<\/div>\n
