Tipperary<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Hard luck to Barry Heffernan, Jake Morris, D\u00e1ire Quinn and the Tipperary senior hurling team who were defeated by Limerick in the opening round of the Munster championship in the Gaelic Grounds. On what was his first championship start for the Premier, Barry is to be congratulated on a fine game at wing back. They now face Cork this Sunday in Semple Stadium. <\/p>\n

We also commiserate with Cian O’ Farrell, Se\u00e1n Phelan and the county minor side who also suffered a defeat at the hands of Limerick in the Munster championship. Cian came on as a second-half substitute but couldn’t claw back Limerick’s lead. Best of luck to the team against Cork next weekend. <\/p>\n

Our seniors were defeated by Clonoulty Rossmore in the Tipperary county league on Saturday evening 2-16 to 3-21. Hard luck lads.<\/p>\n

Junior-A Hurling<\/strong><\/p>\n

Our junior-A side face Kilruane MacDonaghs on Saturday evening at 17:30 in the opening round of the championship. Best of luck to all involved. <\/p>\n

The club have decided to enter a junior-B team into the championship after a gap of a few years. Anyone interested in playing is asked to contact 083 334 3347 ASAP. <\/p>\n

Under-6 training continues every Saturday at 10am. Numbers have been great at training and we encourage all parent and guardians to please keep children practicing at home.<\/div>\n

 Under 8:<\/u><\/i><\/b><\/div>\n
Under-8 training continues every Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday for both Gaelic football and hurling. It is very important that the children keep practicing at home as there will be plenty of blitzes coming up in the next month.<\/div>\n

 Under 10:<\/u><\/i><\/b><\/div>\n
Under-10 hurling training continues same days and times as normal this week.

The under-16s played in the seven-a-side hurling tournament in Holycross and a great day was had by all. We were beaten in the shield final however, a lot of positives was got from all four games. Thanks to Holycross for hosting us and for all the food on the day and also to the parents who drove on the day, training continues as normal during the week.<\/div>\n

Family Fun Run<\/h2>\n

The Nenagh \u00c9ire \u00d3g Juvenile club 10k\/5k Family Fun Run is scheduled to take place on Sunday June 17th. This year as part of the Healthy Club Project the annual run will support the worthy cause of former Tipperary hurler Seamus Hennessy who, as part of his Running for Josie campaign, is aiming to raise \u20ac200,000 for Pieta House.<\/p>\n

    The Tipperary primary school’s team featuring Jack McLoughlin<\/p><\/div>\n

    We extend our congratulations to Jack McLoughlin who played in the full-back line for the Tipperary primary school’s game at half-time of the Munster senior quarter-final between Tipperary and Waterford on Saturday evening. Jack had a fine game in the full-back line showing off the many great skills of Gaelic football to the large crowd. Jack got his photograph taken afterwards with many of the players including Michael Quinlivan and Alan Campbell. A special thanks goes to Jack’s teacher George Hannigan who nominated Jack to play on the team. <\/p>\n

    Congratulations to the Flynn brothers, Paddy and Kevin, on winning the Boston seven-a-side tournament over the weekend with Fr. Tom Burkes’. They played and won five matches on their way to the final where they defeated Tipperary. Well done lads. <\/p>\n

    We commiserate with Barry Coffey and the Irish under-17 soccer team who were beaten in extraordinary circumstances in the quarter-finals of the European Championship by the Netherlands on Tuesday last. Barry had a fine tournament cementing his growing reputation as an up and coming soccer player. <\/p>\n
