Commiserations to the Nenagh \u00c9ire \u00d3g minor A Camogie team which exited at the semi-final stage of the championship following a defeat suffered at the hands of Newport-Ballinahinch on Sunday afternoon. There has been more encouraging news, however, with a goal by Michael Heffernan nominated for the C\u00fail Iom\u00e1na na Bliana 2015 award. \nSENIOR<\/strong><\/p>\n

Under-21A:<\/strong> Greg Browne\u2019s under-21A hurling team made an encouraging start to their championship campaign recently when beating Roscrea by sixteen points. The team is now awaiting a semi-final fixture. This year the under-21A hurling team is managed by Greg Browne (manager), Con Morris and Michael McNamara. <\/p>\n

C\u00fail Iom\u00e1na na Bliana 2015:<\/strong> Michael Heffernan\u2019s goal against Thurles Sarsfields in the recent county senior hurling final at Semple Stadium, Thurles is in the running for the prestigious TG4 GAA Beo C\u00fail Iom\u00e1na na Bliana 2015 award. Mikey\u2019s brilliant strike is up against goals from S\u00e9amus Callanan (Tipperary), Aaron Cunningham (Clare), Joe Canning (Galway), Maurice Shanahan (Waterford), David O’Callaghan (Dublin), TJ Reid (Kilkenny), John O’Dwyer (Tipperary) and Shane Bennett (Waterford). Night at the Dogs:<\/strong> Tickets are now on sale now for the combined juvenile and Camogie club \u2018Night at the Dogs\u2019 club fundraiser on Saturday, November 21st at the Thurles Greyhound Stadium. Tickets are priced at \u20ac10 and are available from all committee members.<\/p>\n

AGM:<\/strong> The Nenagh \u00c9ire \u00d3g Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held on Wednesday, December 16th at 8pm in the MacDonagh Park Complex. Nomination forms and forms for notices of motion are available from the club secretary Anne Kennedy – email secretary.nenagheireog.tipperary@gaa.ie. Nomination forms and notices of motion should be returned no later than 9pm on Friday, December 4th.<\/p>\n

CAMOGIE<\/strong><\/p>\n

Minor:<\/strong> Our minor side were defeated by Newport-Ballinahinch in the county semi-final at The Ragg on Sunday last (1-13 to 1-5) and this concludes our on-field action for the year. The club wishes to thank the management team of Noel Coffey and Kieran O\u2019Brien for the countless hours they put in this year with both this team and the junior A side. We wish also to thank Noreen Ryan, Marie O\u2019Brien and Mary Quigley for all their work behind the scenes as well as Brian McDonnell, Shane Connolly, Ciara McGrath and Aileen Duggan who looked after proceedings on Sunday in the absence of Noel and Kieran. We especially want to thank the entire panel for their dedication throughout 2015 and in the proud manner in which they represented their club. We also wish to thank the mentors who looked after all our teams this year and all the players, parents and other volunteers who helped in any way in 2015. We want to thank Denise Morris and the committee who put in mammoth and often thankless work to help our teams and continue to grow our club. We look forward to seeing everyone back again in 2016. <\/p>\n

AGM: <\/strong>The Camogie club AGM is due to take place on Thursday, November 26th in the clubhouse – if you are interested in getting involved in the club in any way or if you have any motions or nominations please contact any committee member or email us at eireognenagh@gmail.com.<\/p>\n

Strength & Conditioning:<\/strong> Our strength and conditioning training continues under the supervision of former Tipperary hurler John O\u2019Keeffe. On Tuesday nights we train in the running track at Ballygreigue. Under-10s and under-12s train from 7.30pm to 8pm while all players from under-14 upwards train from 8pm to 8.30pm. On Friday evenings we are training in the complex in MacDonagh Park from 7pm to 7.30pm for under-10s and under-12s while everyone from under-14 up trains from 8pm to 8.30pm. It costs \u20ac2 per evening and is run in conjunction with the juvenile club.<\/p>\n

JUVENILE<\/strong><\/p>\n

Strength and conditioning classes will continue on Friday night at the following times: 10\/12s girls and boys to be in complex at 6.50pm to start at 7pm, 14\/16 boys in complex at 7.50pm to be ready for 8pm. Running Tuesday night at 7.30pm for 10\/12 and 8pm for 14\/16. <\/p>\n

Tickets are on sale now for the ‘Night at the Dogs’ club fundraiser on Saturday, November 21st at Thurles Greyhound Stadium. Tickets are \u20ac10 and are available from all committee members.<\/p>\n

\n

NENAGH HANDBALL CLUB<\/strong><\/p>\n

Nenagh Handball Club will host an open night on Friday, November 27th at 7pm at the \u00c9ire \u00d3g complex. We would especially like to see boys and girls born 2003-04-05, but all are welcome to come along, have a go and see what it’s all about. Refreshments will be served on the night.<\/p>\n

Well done to the St Mary’s Convent handballers who competed well in recent Munster championships. Sin\u00e9ad Meagher will now continue to represent the school and compete in an All-Ireland semi-final this weekend.<\/p>\n
