Well done also to the \u00c9ire \u00d3g senior squad which represented the club so proudly in the Tom Semple Cup on Saturday and best of luck to our minor A and junior B teams who return to competitive action this week. A huge well done goes out to a whole series of Camogie players who turned out in the blue and gold of Tipperary recently and a special word of encouragement to the Blues\u2019 under-12 team who paid a visit to Croke Park, Dublin. Finally, well done to our under-16A hurlers who recorded a third consecutive victory when beating Silvermines 5-19 to 2-16 on Monday evening!<br \/>\n<!--more--><br \/>\n<strong>SENIOR<\/p>\n<p>Senior:<\/strong> \u00c9ire \u00d3g lost out to Midleton in the semi-finals of the Tom Semple Cup at Dr Morris Park, Thurles on Saturday. The Thurles Sports Fest is a festival of sports, music and drama which ran from Friday, July 3rd to Saturday, July 11th in Tipperary. Hurling, Camogie, ladies football, road bowling, handball and rounders all feature in the festival, but the highlight of the festival is the hurling competition for the Tom Semple Cup which ran on Saturday, July 11th in Dr Morris Park and in the Outside Field at Semple Stadium, Thurles. Ultimately \u00c9ire \u00d3g lost out on penalties, but everyone associated with the team was proud of the manner in which the Nenagh players represented themselves, their families and their club in the tournament. Missing from photo: Christopher Ryan.<\/em><\/center><\/p>\n<hr>\n<p><strong>Junior A: <\/strong>On Wednesday, July 7th the junior A hurlers lost to Burgess in the Watch Centre North Tipperary Junior A Hurling Championship on a 2-10 to 2-16 scoreline at Kilcolman. The Blues have already beaten Kildangan and Silvermines and have one remaining group game to play against Kilruane MacDonagh\u2019s who won the north Tipperary junior A hurling league for the first time in recent weeks.<\/p>\n<p>The Watch Centre North Tipperary Junior A Hurling Championship is being run on a two-group system with the top team in each group progressing to the semi-finals and the second and third teams qualifying for the quarter-finals. Nenagh \u00c9ire \u00d3g, the defending champions, were drawn in group one while group two features Toomevara, Borris-Ileigh, Roscrea, Knockshegowna and Templederry. This year the junior A team is managed by Greg Browne (manager), Con Morris, Michael Ryan and Conor Ryan. <\/p>\n<p><strong>Junior B:<\/strong> Following the withdrawal of three teams from the competition the North Board were forced to re-draw the groups for the Watch Centre North Tipperary Junior B Hurling Championship. Nenagh \u00c9ire \u00d3g have been drawn in group one alongside Lorrha, Toomevara, Shannon Rovers and Ballina. Moneygall, Portroe, Newport and Borrisokane make up group two. This year the \u00c9ire \u00d3g team is managed by Cian Tucker (manager), Mark Long, John Paul King and Paddy Flynn. The junior B team are expected to launch their north championship campaign on the week-ending Sunday, July 19th.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Minor A:<\/strong> Nenagh \u00c9ire \u00d3g survived a late rally from a spirited Borris-Ileigh team at Templederry recently to register a 1-15 to 3-8 win. Next up for the Blues in the Ger Gavin North Tipperary Minor A Hurling Championship is a clash with Portroe on Wednesday, July 15th in Puckane at 7.30pm. John Manley\u2019s Nenagh \u00c9ire \u00d3g team have been drawn in group one of the championship alongside Roscrea, Newport Gaels, Borris-Ileigh and Portroe. Thanks to the mentors and parents for the huge effort they are putting in with this group. The boys are having a great time.<\/p>\n<p>The under-8 and under-10 hurlers hosted Ahane on Saturday morning. A great time was had by all. Best of luck to the boys!<\/p>\n<p>Our under-14 hurlers were defeated by a stronger Roscrea outfit in round six of the championship on Wednesday last. We play Borris-Ileigh in the final round on Wednesday, July 15th in Borrisoleigh at 7.30pm.<\/p>\n<p>Well done to Josh Keller who played in the Primary Game in Thurles on Sunday last.<\/p>\n<p>Well done also to Se\u00e1n Phelan and coach Shane Connolly who was part of the Tipperary under-14 team which beat Galway in Killimor on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>The under-16 team had a comprehensive win over Moneygall-Clonakenny last week in Nenagh &#8211; final score 3-22 to 0-10. On Monday evening, July 13th the under-16 hurlers beat Silvermines 5-19 to 2-16, but face a stiff challenge on Monday, July 20th at 7pm in Nenagh when they take on Roscrea. Mentors will be in touch with the details.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Under-10: <\/strong>we played a fantastic blitz in Toomevara on Saturday last. Thanks to our hosts for their wonderful hospitality.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Under-12:<\/strong> We travelled to Croke Park on Tuesday last and had a memorable day out. We played three fun matches and got a guided tour of the stadium. We wish to thank the staff of Croke Park, the organisers of the event and all the mentors and parents who travelled. The players themselves were excellent throughout and painted a very positive image of our club and town with their good humour and politeness to all they encountered. Well done ladies.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Under-13:<\/strong> We played Ballina on Thursday last in opening round of the summer league and were unfortunately beaten. We play Knockavilla Kickhams in Dundrum on Tuesday next at 7.30pm.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Under-15:<\/strong> We were defeated by two points by Silvermines in the summer league on Thursday. We face Ballina this Thursday in Nenagh at 7.30pm.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Bag Packing:<\/strong> we are bag packing on Saturday, July 25th and if you would like to volunteer one hour of your time for this vital fundraiser please contact Denise Morris at 087 103 2070.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tipperary:<\/strong> well done to Katie Morris, Ella Carey and Lucy Spain who all featured for the Tipperary under-14 team which won the shield final in the National Blitz in Dublin on Saturday last. Saoirse Shanahan, Rachel Browne, Lilly Purcell, Leah Kelly and Katie Manicle also played for the Tipperary under-15 team on Saturday in Dublin.
