The juvenile club have also launched an innovative \u00c9ire \u00d3gres project while the Camogie club are preparing to host a registration night for players on Friday, January 23rd.<br \/>\n<!--more--><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"960\" height=\"386\" src=\"https:\/\/www.nenagheireog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/Club-Of-The-Year-1.jpg\" alt=\"Club Of The Year 1\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3008\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.nenagheireog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/Club-Of-The-Year-1.jpg 960w, https:\/\/www.nenagheireog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/Club-Of-The-Year-1-300x120.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 960px) 100vw, 960px\" \/><center><em>Nenagh \u00c9ire \u00d3g officers, mentors, players and supporters pictured celebrating winning the club of the year award at the MacDonagh Park Complex on Friday evening.<\/em><\/center><\/p>\n<p><strong>SENIOR<\/p>\n<p>Awards:<\/strong> Out-going chairman John \u2018Rocky\u2019 McGrath hailed Nenagh \u00c9ire \u00d3g as a \u201cfantastic club\u201d at a North Board awards ceremony hosted by the MacDonagh Park Complex on Friday evening &#8211; at the event Nenagh \u00c9ire \u00d3g was presented with the club of the year award while players D\u00e1ire Quinn and Alan Kelly were presented with the senior and junior hurler of the awards respectively. Connie Cleere received an award in recognition of his years of service as a referee while it was later revealed that D\u00e1ire Quinn had also won the Nenagh Guardian North Tipperary Hurler of the Year award. A report and photos from the North Board awards ceremony is available on the club <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nenagheireog.com\/index.php\/rocky-mcgrath-hails-nenagh-eire-og-as-a-fantastic-club-at-north-board-awards-ceremony\/\" target=\"_blank\">website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Club Social:<\/strong> A club social and medal presentation night will take place at the Abbey Court Hotel on Friday, February 6th &#8211; on the night the 1957 and 1964 north champions will be honoured while music will be provided by Ebony (followed by disco). Tickets are priced at \u20ac40 for a four-course dinner (\u20ac350 for a table of ten). This promises to be a great club occasion as we honour our victorious 2014 teams and look forward to the 2015 season. We would encourage people attending to get their tickets ASAP so as to help with planning on the night. All welcome.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Hard Luck:<\/strong> Commiserations to the Nenagh CBS team which lost last week\u2019s Dr Harty Cup quarter-final to St Francis College, Rochestown at Charleville. Two \u00c9ire \u00d3g men, namely Dean Ray and John Flannery, were members of the management team. On the day Brian Flynn, Gavin O\u2019Connor, John Cahalan, Jake Morris and Anthony Walsh featured while Aodh\u00e1n Geaney, Adam Healy, Brian Tuite and Shane Hennessy were all members of the Nenagh CBS panel.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Healthy Club Project:<\/strong> The Nenagh \u00c9ire \u00d3g Healthy Club Project team, in partnership with SOS (Suicide or Survive), will host a one-day Wellness Workshop which aims to help people understand, take charge of and responsibility for their own mental health &#8211; this workshop, which will be delivered by SOS, takes place on Thursday, January 29th in the Business Innovation Centre on Stafford Street, Nenagh. <\/p>\n<p><strong>Book:<\/strong> The first two volumes of the book \u2018A Central Culture &#8211; Gaelic Sport in Nenagh\u2019, which has been compiled by D\u00f3nal A Murphy, PJ Maxwell and Nancy Murphy, are now on sale for a combined price of \u20ac40 (both volumes). Copies of the book can be obtained in selected local shops or alternatively from officers of the club. \u2018A Central Culture &#8211; Gaelic Sport in Nenagh\u2019 is now on sale at the following book shops: Nenagh Book Shop, Eason\u2019s, Cleary\u2019s Garage and Cinnamon Alley Caf\u00e9. Crucially, however, we are not simply interested in developing our playing population. We are also interested in attracting volunteers who are interested in becoming coaches with the club and administrators of the club. <\/p>\n<p>Here at \u00c9ire \u00d3g we appreciate that not everyone can train a team, that not everyone is interested in coaching and that not everyone has time to attend committee meetings. That said there are plenty of very practical ways in which you can help your club work hard for the betterment of the local community, our children and our cultural heritage. <\/p>\n<p>We therefore encourage anyone in the community who supports the club and who is prepared to give of their time on a voluntary basis to get involved so that fresh faces can bring fresh ideas forward. If you take that brave first step over the threshold, we guarantee that you will not regret it. This free &#8216;\u00c9ire \u00d3gres&#8217; programme is perfect for boys born 2008-2010 to help improve their hand-eye coordination and agility in a safe and fun environment. No equipment necessary. Tea and coffee will be provided for parents. The boys will be presented with a cert and a special \u00c9ire \u00d3gres T-shirt on completion of the course &#8211; call or text Shane (087 637 3830) or Catherine (086 085 5165) for more information or to register before January 31st.<\/p>\n<p>Parents and mentors will be contacted soon regarding the juvenile flag day on January 31st. Please give an hour of your time for this important fundraiser.<\/p>\n<p><strong>CAMOGIE<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Registration Night:<\/strong> There will be a registration night for all Camogie players in MacDonagh Park this Friday, January 23rd from 6pm to 8pm. All players are asked to make the effort to attend and register for the year.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sympathies:<\/strong> We wish to extend our condolences to the family of Peggy McGrath following her recent passing.
