Juvenile club launches innovative \u00c9ire \u00d3gres campaign while club members look forward to Friday night\u2019s divisional awards ceremony which will see the Nenagh \u00c9ire \u00d3g club, D\u00e1ire Quinn and Alan Kelly honoured by the North Board.

\nSENIOR<\/strong><\/p>\n

Team Managements: The team managements for the junior A, junior B, under-21A and minor A teams will be appointed in due course. The club officers and members of the hurling committee are expected to meet this week to discuss the issue. If you are interested in getting involved with any of the respective management teams please make contact with any officer of the club.<\/p>\n

Good Luck:<\/strong> The Nenagh \u00c9ire \u00d3g club would like to wish Nenagh CBS all the very best of luck on Wednesday, January 14th when they takes on Rochestown in the quarter-finals of the Dr Harty Cup in Charleville (1.30pm).<\/p>\n

Awards:<\/strong> The North Tipperary GAA Board has named Nenagh \u00c9ire \u00d3g as the club of the year for 2014, D\u00e1ire Quinn has also been named senior hurler of the year and Alan Kelly has been named junior A hurler of the year. The presentation ceremony will take place in the MacDonagh Park Complex, Nenagh on Friday, January 16th at 8pm. Chairman Jim Nagle has appealed to supporters of the Blues to come out and show their support for the club on the night. For more details on the awards please see the club website<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Healthy Club Project:<\/strong> The Nenagh \u00c9ire \u00d3g Healthy Club Project team, in partnership with SOS (Suicide or Survive), will host a one-day Wellness Workshop which aims to help people understand, take charge of and responsibility for their own mental health – this workshop, which will be delivered by SOS, takes place on Thursday, January 29th in the Business Innovation Centre on Stafford Street, Nenagh.<\/p>\n

Book:<\/strong> The first two volumes of the book \u2018A Central Culture – Gaelic Sport in Nenagh\u2019, which has been compiled by D\u00f3nal A Murphy, PJ Maxwell and Nancy Murphy, are now on sale for a combined price of \u20ac40 (both volumes). Copies of the book can be obtained in selected local shops or alternatively from officers of the club. \u2018A Central Culture – Gaelic Sport in Nenagh\u2019 is now on sale at the following book shops: Nenagh Book Shop, Eason\u2019s, Cleary\u2019s Garage and Cinnamon Alley Caf\u00e9. Those interested can also purchase a copy via the club website. Club Presentation Night:<\/strong> A club social and medal presentation night will take place at the Abbey Court Hotel on Friday, February 6th – on the night the 1957 and 1964 north champions will be honoured while music will be provided by Ebony (followed by disco). Tickets are priced at \u20ac40 for a four-course dinner (\u20ac350 for a table of ten). This promises to be a great club occasion as we honour our victorious 2014 teams and look forward to the 2015 season. We would encourage people attending to get their tickets ASAP so as to help with planning on the night. All welcome.<\/p>\n

VOLUNTEER APPEAL<\/strong><\/p>\n

In 2014 Nenagh \u00c9ire \u00d3g catered for over 400 active members (170 juvenile, 225 adult) and in 2015 we hope to grow that number. Crucially, however, we are not simply interested in developing our playing population. We are also interested in attracting volunteers who are interested in becoming coaches with the club and administrators of the club.<\/p>\n

Here at \u00c9ire \u00d3g we appreciate that not everyone can train a team, that not everyone is interested in coaching and that not everyone has time to attend committee meetings. That said there are plenty of very practical ways in which you can help your club work hard for the betterment of the local community, our children and our cultural heritage.<\/p>\n

We therefore encourage anyone in the community who supports the club and who is prepared to give of their time on a voluntary basis to get involved so that fresh faces can bring fresh ideas forward. If you take that brave first step over the threshold, we guarantee that you will not regret it. So, if you are interested in lending a hand drop us a line – contact us<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u00c9ire \u00d3g will be running a GAA camp for beginners for four Saturdays in February beginning on the 7th from 10am to 11am at the MacDonagh Park complex. This free ‘\u00c9ire \u00d3gres’ programme is perfect for boys born 2008-2010 to help improve their hand-eye coordination and agility in a safe and fun environment. No equipment necessary. Tea and coffee will be provided for parents. The boys will be presented with a cert and a special \u00c9ire \u00d3gres T-shirt on completion of the course – call or text Shane (087 637 3830) or Catherine (086 085 5165) for more information or to register before January 31st.<\/p>\n

NENAGH HANDBALL CLUB<\/strong><\/p>\n

Well done to Meaghan Morris who won the under-12 north Tipperary girls singles title in Nenagh at the weekend. She now goes on to represent Tipperary in the first round of the Munster championship against Clare opposition in a few weeks\u2019 time. In total four Nenagh Handball Club girls will represent Tipp in this competition – namely Sin\u00e9ad Meagher, Eimear Meagher, Katie Morris and Meaghan Morris.<\/p>\n

CAMOGIE<\/strong><\/p>\n

There will be a registration night for all Camogie players in MacDonagh Park on Friday, January 23rd from 6pm to 8pm. All players are asked to make the effort to attend and register for the year. All welcome!<\/p>\n
