SENIOR<\/p>\n

Senior: <\/strong>The \u00c9ire \u00d3g senior hurling team face Burgess in the final of the Hibernian Inn North Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship on Sunday, September 14th at MacDonagh Park, Nenagh (3.30pm). This represents the club\u2019s first appearance in the final since 2009. The entire group have made a terrific effort to prepare for this decider and the players would appreciate your support.<\/p>\n

Junior A:<\/strong> On Saturday, September 13th in Templederry at 4pm the junior A hurlers will face Kildangan in the Watch Centre North Tipperary Junior A Hurling Championship final. This represents the club\u2019s first appearance in the final since 2012. During the group stage of the 2014 championship Nenagh \u00c9ire \u00d3g drew with Kildangan (1-16 to 3-10) at MacDonagh Park, Nenagh. The players have made a terrific effort to prepare for this final and would appreciate your support.<\/p>\n

Junior B:<\/strong> Conor Ryan\u2019s junior B hurlers are expected to be in quarter-final action against Toomevara on the week-ending September 21st. The other quarter-final involves Kildangan and Newport while group winners Lorrha and Portroe have already progressed to the semi-final stage.<\/p>\n

\nMinor:<\/strong> Unfortunately our minor A hurlers were defeated by Toomevara in a north semi-final played at MacDonagh Park, Cloughjordan on Wednesday evening last (3-17 to 1-13). This semi-final defeat brings \u00c9ire \u00d3g\u2019s campaign to an end and concludes a sequence which saw the Blues win seven consecutive minor A north titles (2007-2013). Between 1992 and 2007 \u00c9ire \u00d3g failed to win a title at the grade, but the recent success enjoyed by the club has been down to outstanding work carried out at underage level. Congratulations:<\/strong> Nenagh \u00c9ire \u00d3g\u2019s John Heffernan, Conor O\u2019Donovan and Michael Cleary were honoured as part of the jubilee celebrations at Croke Park, Dublin on Sunday for the handsome part that all three played in Tipperary\u2019s 1989 All-Ireland final win over Antrim. In \u201989 John Heffernan lined out at corner-back wearing the number two jersey which is proudly on display in the MacDonagh Park complex. Conor O\u2019Donovan featured twenty-five years ago at full-back while Michael Cleary played wing-forward with the number ten jersey on his back.<\/p>\n

Anniversary:<\/strong> This year marks the fifty-year anniversary of \u00c9ire \u00d3g\u2019s north final triumph over Roscrea in 1964. In \u201864 \u00c9ire \u00d3g bridged a seven-year gap when the Blues were crowned north Tipperary senior hurling champions following a great win over Roscrea at MacDonagh Park. Well done to the under-10 hurlers who won the plate at the Ahane Tournament on Saturday.<\/em><\/center><\/p>\n

JUVENILE<\/strong><\/p>\n

Under-6:<\/strong> Our under-6 hurlers enjoyed a wonderful mornings hurling in Roscrea on Saturday. Thank you to the hosts and the parents for support.<\/p>\n

Under-8:<\/strong> The under-8 hurling team travel to Roscrea on Saturday – more details from management during the week.<\/p>\n

Under-10:<\/strong> Well done to the under-10 hurlers who won the plate at the Ahane Tournament on Saturday. Well done lads!<\/p>\n

Under-13:<\/strong> There are two groups taking part in the under-13 plate this year with Nenagh playing in group one with Kildangan, Toomevara, Ballina and Borris-Ileigh. The postponed under-13 plate match against Kildangan is scheduled for Wednesday, September 10th in Nenagh. The boys will play the next round match away to Ballina on Friday evening.<\/p>\n

Under-16:<\/strong> Our under-16 hurlers face Kilruane in the North semi-final on Saturday, September 13th. Please check www.nenagheireog.com<\/a> for fixture details and come out to support the lads.<\/p>\n

Bag Packing: <\/strong>Thank you to everybody who supported our recent bag packing fundraiser in Dunnes Stores, the shoppers and the hard-working packers.<\/p>\n

Senior North Final:<\/strong> Best of luck to the senior team against Burgess from all the boys.<\/p>\n

Primary Schools Hurling Coaching: <\/strong>Nenagh \u00c9ire \u00d3g has been actively supporting hurling in the local primary schools by providing a coach for up to fifteen hours per week. The schools involved are St Mary\u2019s Boys, Nenagh CBS and the Gaelscoil. We are now looking for additional coaches for the school year 2014-15. Applicants should have some experience in coaching children from age 6-12 age group and be available Mondays to Fridays inclusive – most coaching will take place in the mornings with times to be confirmed. Suitable applicants will be subject to the GAA Garda Vetting procedure. For further information contact Phil Hennessy (Schools Liaison Officer) on 087 127 5613 or any club officer before Wednesday, September 10th.<\/p>\n
