The Clean Ireland Recycling County Senior Hurling Championship resumes this weekend when \u00c9ire \u00d3g take on Roscrea in Moneygall on Friday, August 1st.

SENIOR<\/p>\n

Senior:<\/strong> \u00c9ire \u00d3g return to action in the Clean Ireland Recycling County Senior Hurling Championship on Friday, August 1st when the Blues face Roscrea in Moneygall at 7.30pm. This is a third round contest; \u00c9ire \u00d3g have already beaten Clonoulty-Rossmore and the Templederry Kenyons in the group phase of this year\u2019s championship. The players would appreciate your support on Friday night.<\/p>\n

Minor A:<\/strong> The minor A hurlers lost to Newport Gaels on a 3-7 to 2-21 scoreline in Templederry on Thursday evening last. Great credit is due to Newport Gaels for a fine performance. This year\u2019s Ger Gavin North Tipperary Minor A Hurling Championship is being played on a single group round robin format with the top four teams progressing to the semi-finals. While the Blues lost this encounter the \u00c9ire \u00d3g lads have already beaten Toomevara, Ballina and Roscrea. The Blues\u2019 remaining group games are against Borris-Ileigh and Kilruane MacDonagh\u2019s. A full match report on this encounter is available on the club website – click here<\/a>. The minor hurlers return to action in the Ger Gavin North Tipperary Minor A Hurling Championship on Thursday, August 7th when the Blues face Kilruane MacDonagh\u2019s in Toomevara at 7pm. This represents a vital match for the lads and they would really appreciate your support in Toomevara.<\/p>\n

Toomevara man Damien O\u2019Meara won last year\u2019s competition while Paul Burke was second, Mark Flannery third, Denis Ryan fourth, pre-season favourite Noel Maloney was fifth, David Burke sixth, Eddie Darcy seventh, Dean Ryan eighth, Jimmy Henry ninth and Brian McDonnell tenth.<\/p>\n

JUVENILE<\/strong><\/p>\n

Under-6 & Under-8:<\/strong> Training resumes after the break for the Summer Camp on Wednesday at 5pm.<\/p>\n

Under-10:<\/strong> Training continues on Wednesdays at 5pm and Saturdays at 10am.<\/p>\n

Under-12:<\/strong> Hard luck to our under-12 hurlers who lost their north semi-final against Kilruane MacDonagh\u2019s in Cloughjordan last week. They put in a huge effort and we are all extremely proud of both teams\u2019 efforts so far this season. Training continues as normal. There will be plenty of matches organised for the coming weeks so the boys can continue the improvement they have shown so far this year.<\/p>\n

Under-14:<\/strong> Our under-14 hurlers played their final group game on Wednesday last against the Silvermines. Played in front of a sizable crowd the Blues played well from start to finish and won out on a scoreline of 4-12 to 0-3. The win guarantees \u00c9ire \u00d3g a place in the semi-finals and the pairings will be decided after the two play-off games to be played this week. \u00c9ire \u00d3g will play Roscrea in Nenagh on Wednesday evening at 6.30pm. Please come out to support our young hurlers. Well done to Evan Murphy who took played at full-back in Tipperary’s under-14 win over Waterford at the weekend. They face Cork this weekend.<\/p>\n

Under-16:<\/strong> On Monday evening \u00c9ire \u00d3g beat Kildangan 3-15 to 2-16 – the Blues recovered a first half deficit to storm to an encouraging win at MacDonagh Park, Nenagh against a fine Kildangan team. The under-16 hurling campaign continues on Monday, August 5th when they face Kilruane MacDonagh\u2019s in Cloughjordan. Best of luck to the boys and well done to Mark O\u2019Farrell and Conor Bonnar who were part of the Tipperary under-15 teams to take on Kilkenny last weekend in Nowlan Park.<\/p>\n

Summer Camp 2014:<\/strong> Thank you to all the kids who took part in our annual Summer Camp last week. It was a great week in glorious sunshine. Thanks as always to Christy Manning and the Manning family for their continued sponsorship of the treats for the boys and girls. Thanks also to Paddy Moore for his expert coaching throughout the week and to Brendan Maher, who took time out of his busy schedule to meet and sign something for every child at the camp. Congrats to him and the Tipp team on Sunday’s win from all the \u00c9ire \u00d3g juveniles. <\/p>\n

NENAGH HANDBALL CLUB<\/strong><\/p>\n

Well done to Meaghan Morris who is the new under-11 North champion following her win in Ballina last Monday. The best of luck to her in the rest of the championship! Hard luck to Eoin Meagher who lost his Munster quarter-final in Broadford last week.<\/p>\n

Under-15:<\/strong> The under-15 team beat Newport in the league semi-final on Saturday last and face Drom & Inch in the league final on Wednesday in The Ragg. Best of luck ladies from everyone in the club and your support at the final is more than welcome. <\/p>\n

Bag Packing:<\/strong> We wish to thank everyone who volunteered for bag packing last week in Dunnes Stores. This is a vital fundraiser for the club and your generosity is very much appreciated. Thanks to Dunnes Stores and their staff for the opportunity to bag pack and also to the shoppers who kindly donated.<\/p>\n

Tipperary:<\/strong> The Tipperary under-16 Camogie team have qualified for the All-Ireland semi-final against Cork next weekend. The four Nenagh \u00c9ire \u00d3g girls on the panel have represented the county with distinction so far this year. We wish Sarah, Hazel, Maeve and Grace all the best of luck in the up-coming semi-final!<\/p>\n
