The Late Jimmy Morris<\/h1>\n

Nenagh \u00c9ire \u00d3g extends its deepest sympathies to the family of our beloved Life President Jimmy Morris on his passing after a long life of such fulfilment and service to our club that is immeasurable and left a legacy that will never be extinguished.<\/h1>\n

Born and bred in Borrisokane he moved permanently to Nenagh in the late 1960s and when members of his young family began playing at juvenile level, Jimmy soon began a journey with the club, starting as a committee member in the mid 1970s and a selector with many underage teams which had great success at minor and under-21 level in the late 70s and early 80s in both hurling and football.<\/h3>\n

It was as an officer that Jimmy left an indelible mark, serving as Treasurer between 1986 and 1996, and Chairman for 1997 and 1998. Alongside fellow officers, Jimmy played a huge part in the building of our complex and viewing stand at our main field which are permanent monuments to the drive and vision of great club people, with Jimmy at the heart of it.<\/p>\n

He was made a club president in 2001 and his passion for the club never waned in recent years, continuing to attend as many games as he could, including following his grandson Jake all the way to Croke Park and an All Ireland title last July. Jimmy\u2019s family have themselves played a huge part in the fabric of the club in various roles over the years, that enthusiasm passed on from the man himself. An encounter with Jimmy was always something to treasure and we will miss him greatly. But the flame from his passion will live on forever in our club and in our hearts.<\/p>\n

This is an inter firms team that represented Tom Hayes Limited. This photo was taken at a challenge game against the Ballina junior team in 1955. It was played in the old Ballina pitch. In what was a cracking game Ballina prevailed by one point while the team here added extra spice to the occasion by wearing the Killaloe jerseys.
Featured in the team photo are Johnny McGrath, an all Ireland medal winner with Tipperary in 1958 and Jimmy Morris. Also here is Connie Collins who was a notable All Ireland winning handballer.

Tipperary drew with Kilkenny on Saturday evening in Semple Stadium, 2-27 to 3-24, in the National League with Sam O’Farrell scoring 0-2 while Jake Morris, who no doubt had a very proud grandfather smiling down from above, bagged 1-5 in a fantastic display. That ends Tipperary’s interest in this year’s league and they now prepare for Cork in the opening round of the Munster championship next month.<\/p>\n

Congratulations to the Tipperary Under-23 team, along with manager Bryan Darcy and coach David Minogue, on their historic victory over Cork in the Munster Under-23 Final on Sunday, 22nd, in Cappamore.

\nWe are especially proud to have one of our own leading the team to success. It was a hard-fought win, finishing 1-12 to 0-13. Well done to everyone involved.

Under the glare of the Astro lights last Wednesday night, six warriors clashed in a 40-minute hurling spectacle that had everything: drama, destruction and downright madness.<\/h2>\n

<\/div>
On one side stood the bibs brigade of Eamon Moylan, Conor Hayes and Jamie Kennedy. Facing them, the ruthless non-bibs trio of Conor O\u2019Donovan, Mick Hutchinson and Martin Hogan \u2014 and what followed was nothing short of a demolition job.<\/h3>\n

The opening exchanges? A massacre.<\/strong><\/h3>\n

<\/div>
The non-bibs came out breathing fire, tearing through their opponents with savage efficiency to rack up a staggering 12-2 lead by half time. Hutchinson in particular was in an unplayable mood, smashing home goals at will as the bibs were left chasing shadows.<\/p>\n

<\/div>
The third quarter offered a flicker of hope. A six-goal shootout saw both sides trade blows in a rare moment of parity. Hayes led the resistance, Kennedy chipped in, and for a brief spell the tide looked like it might turn.<\/p>\n

<\/div>
But dreams of a comeback were brutally crushed.<\/em><\/p>\n

<\/div>
The final quarter saw the non-bibs hit another gear, hammering home six more goals to the bibs\u2019 two and sealing a thumping 24-10 victory that will echo through Astro folklore.<\/p>\n

And at the heart of it all? Mick Hutchinson.<\/em><\/p>\n

<\/div>
Eighteen goals. Yes, eighteen. A scoring blitz of outrageous proportions, featuring rockets, screamers and finishes that bordered on the ridiculous. This was not just a performance \u2014 it was a statement. Hutchinson now sits king of the scoring charts and who\u2019s going to stop him?<\/p>\n

Elsewhere, O\u2019Donovan and Hogan played their part with four and two goals respectively, while Hayes battled bravely with seven for the bibs and Kennedy added three \u2014 including the strangest goal of the night, bundling the sliotar over the line with his torso in a moment of pure chaos.<\/p>\n

Defensively, Hogan produced the moment of the match \u2014 a heroic, full-blooded shoulder block to deny Moylan a certain goal. It was grit, guts and pure defiance rolled into one.<\/p>\n

Player of the Match? No debate. Hutchinson. A one-man wrecking crew.<\/strong><\/p>\n
