Commiserations to Josh, Jake and Sam as Tipperary were defeated by Cork in Round Three of the National Hurling League at P\u00e1irc U\u00ed Chaoimh on Saturday evening, 0\u201329 to 0\u201322. Jake contributed 0\u20133 (0\u20131 from a free) while Sam added 0\u20131. The lads now turn their attention to Limerick in two weeks\u2019 time, with the next fixture set for Saturday 21 February in Semple Stadium at 5:30pm.<\/p>\n

This fun and social event is a great opportunity for members, families and friends of the club to come together for an enjoyable evening while supporting the development of our juvenile teams. Tables of four are \u20ac40 and all proceeds from the night will go directly towards funding equipment, training and activities for our young players. We encourage everyone in the community to come along, test their knowledge and help us continue to grow and strengthen juvenile hurling in Nenagh.<\/p>\n

Congratulations go to referee Christy McLoughlin who was recently presented with his county medal by Philip Kelly in recognition of his officiating of a county hurling league final last year. Referees are an integral part of our games and it is important that we all continue to show them the upmost respect when officiating.<\/p>\n

The North Board have put out an urgent appeal to clubs to seek out members who would have an interest in becoming a referee. Across the county in general there is a need to boost the number of referees in order to allow our games to continue without disruption, such is the shortage that is emerging. Anyone interested in taking it up can contact 087 6687589 and we will begin the process for you. A Referee\u2019s course will begin on February 10th so no time like the present to give it a go.<\/p>\n

Throughout human history it was extremely rare for the average person to meet and truly know their grandparents. Only in the past 100\u2013150 years, as life expectancy increased, has this become a normal part of family life across much of the world. Rarer still is the chance to meet a great-great-grandparent, yet baby Billy now has a photograph to cherish, pictured here with club stalwart Jimmy Morris \u2014 five generations of the Morris clan captured in a single image.<\/p>\n

And judging by the smile on Jimmy\u2019s face, this great-great-grandfather could not be prouder.<\/p>\n

EIGHT-GOAL HERO CAN\u2019T SEPARATE SIDES IN 40-MINUTE SHOOTOUT!<\/h1>\n

It was 40 minutes of pure Astro-turf drama last Wednesday night as two fearless 4-a-side social hurling squads clashed in a goal-fest that had everything \u2014 lightning strikes, cheeky penalties and last-gasp heroics! The bibs brigade of Ger Ryan, Conor Hayes, Jamie Kennedy and Conor O\u2019Donovan went toe-to-toe with the non-bibs warriors Eamon Moylan, Martin Hogan, John Phelan and Mick Hutchinson \u2014 and when the final hooter screamed, the scoreboard couldn\u2019t split them: twelve goals apiece in a pulsating stalemate!

The action exploded into life inside 15 blistering seconds when Mick Hutchinson rattled the net for the non-bibs \u2014 surely the fastest strike of the entire season! By the end of the first quarter the non-bibs edged ahead 4\u20133, with Hutchinson already bagging a brace and John Phelan adding another. The bibs fired back through Conor Hayes, Jamie Kennedy \u2014 notably without<\/em> his trademark cartwheel \u2014 and Ger Ryan to keep the contest razor tight.
<\/div>
Quarter two delivered more fireworks as the non-bibs stretched their lead to 7\u20136. Hutchinson was in ruthless form, slamming home two more while Eamon Moylan coolly dispatched a penalty. But the bibs refused to blink \u2014 Ger Ryan struck twice and Conor O\u2019Donovan added another to keep the scoreboard ticking and the tension rising.

Then came the third-quarter surge! The bibs roared back into contention, hammering in four goals shared between O\u2019Donovan and Ryan to snatch a 10\u20139 advantage. The non-bibs weren\u2019t done yet \u2014 Hutchinson struck again while Martin Hogan produced a moment of pure trickery from the penalty spot, shaping for the bottom right before cheekily slotting into the opposite corner and leaving O\u2019Donovan stranded in goal.

The final quarter was nothing short of chaotic brilliance. The non-bibs rallied to lead 12\u201311 thanks to two more from the unstoppable Hutchinson and another clinical finish by Phelan, while Conor Hayes kept the bibs alive with his second of the night. Just when defeat loomed, Conor O\u2019Donovan delivered the ultimate late-show twist, smashing home a last-minute equaliser to snatch a draw from the jaws of despair!

When the dust settled, honours were even \u2014 and few could argue it wasn\u2019t deserved. Hutchinson finished the night as top scorer with a staggering eight goals for the non-bibs while Ger Ryan led the bibs with five. In a rare and glorious twist, every single player found the net, making it another unforgettable midweek showdown.
