Grace O’ Brien – Munster Camogie Player of the Year 2025<\/p><\/div>\n

Congratulations to Grace O’Brien, named this week as the 2025 Munster Camogie Player of the Year, a title that underlines her remarkable rise from club trailblazer to provincial star. Wearing the Blue and Gold with pride, Grace became the first Nenagh \u00c9ire \u00d3g player to represent Tipperary in championship camogie. Her standout moment came in the 2023 Munster senior final when her 0-4 contribution powered Tipperary to a commanding 1-26 to 1-9 victory over Clare, before she added a National League medal in 2024 where she played midfield.

\nGrace\u2019s growing reputation on and off the field was showcased earlier this year when she featured in the RT\u00c9 One documentary Camogie: Inside the Championship, offering viewers a rare insight into the dedication, sacrifice and commitment required at inter-county level.

\nEveryone in Nenagh \u00c9ire \u00d3g is immensely proud of Grace and all she has achieved. Her journey continues to inspire the next generation and she carries the best wishes of the entire club with her. Grace will officially receive her award at the Munster GAA Awards on December 13 in Killarney.<\/div>\n

It was double celebrations for Grace as she got engaged to her boyfriend Kevin Hassett last weekend. Grace has been an outstanding member of our club; her commitment, dedication to training, and passion for the game are second to none. Congratulations, Grace!<\/div>\n

Congratulations to Nenagh \u00c9ire \u00d3g\u2019s Lilly Morris, who has been selected for the county under-17 camogie development squad for 2026. The club extends its very best wishes to Lilly for the season ahead.<\/div>\n

Rain, Roars and Rockets: Social Hurling Delivers the Goods Again<\/h2>\n

A high-octane 40-minute session of social \u2018ground\u2019 hurling lit up the Astro on Wednesday night, as energy levels soared despite the persistent rain. The evening opened with a sharp 10-minute warm-up of end-to-end striking, with two balls on the go and both the four-man bibs team and three-man non-bibs team kept flat out from the off. That early intensity carried straight into the 30-minute game and it was the numerically disadvantaged non-bibs trio of Mick Hutchinson, Tom Bourke and John Phelan who set the early tempo with pace, precision and purpose.

\nBourke struck first from the penalty spot with a thunderous effort that gave Conor O\u2019Donovan no chance, setting the tone for a dominant attacking display. Eamon Moylan quickly responded with a superb long-range strike to level matters for the bibs, but the non-bibs tightened their grip through clever zonal defending and lightning-fast counter-attacks. Bourke added three more goals despite the slick surface, while Hutchinson caught fire with five deadly finishes from the sweet spot of the hurley, firing his side to a superb tally of nine. For the bibs, O\u2019Donovan kept the contest alive with a brace and Jamie Kennedy struck late, but the damage had already been done.

\nJohn Phelan may not have troubled the scoreboard, but his disciplined defensive performance proved pivotal in choking off scoring chances, while for the bibs, Conor Hayes produced a series of strong defensive interventions to keep his side within touching distance for long spells. Thanks go to Nicholas Ryan-Purcell for capturing the group photograph on the night. Attention now turns to next Wednesday at 8pm, when another lively chapter in this social hurling series is eagerly anticipated.<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
