Everyone at Nenagh \u00c9ire \u00d3g is bursting with pride as our own Jake Morris has been recognised among the elite of the hurling world, receiving a prestigious PwC All-Star Award for his outstanding performances in the 2025 All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship. To make the achievement even more impressive, Jake was also nominated for the Hurler of the Year award \u2014 a fitting acknowledgement of his incredible season in the blue and gold of Tipperary.<\/p>\n

<\/div>\n

Jake played a central role in Tipperary\u2019s All-Ireland triumph, lining out alongside his teammate and fellow \u00c9ire \u00d3g man Sam O\u2019Farrell as the Premier County overcame Cork in last July\u2019s final. Consistent, skilful and full of heart, Jake scored in every championship match this season, earning widespread admiration from fans and pundits alike.<\/p>\n

<\/div>\n

Although the Hurler of the Year award ultimately went to John McGrath, Jake\u2019s inclusion among the top three hurlers in the country \u2014 and his earlier recognition as RT\u00c9\u2019s Sunday Game Hurler of the Year \u2014 highlights just how special his 2025 campaign has been.<\/p>\n

Jake now joins an exclusive group of Nenagh \u00c9ire \u00d3g legends, becoming only the second hurler from our club to win an All-Star following in the footsteps of the great Michael Cleary who claimed the honour in 1990, 1991, 1992 and 1993.<\/p>\n

Commiserations to our Under-21 hurlers who were defeated in tough conditions in Borrisoleigh on Saturday evening in the final round-robin game of the championship, on a scoreline of 3-13 to 3-9 with the goals coming from Aodan O’Connor, Billy O’Brien and Sam O’Farrell from a penalty.<\/p>\n

Despite the wet and windy weather, the match proved to be a thrilling contest with both sides giving everything right to the final whistle. The result brings our campaign to an end and the club extends sincere thanks to the management team and the entire panel of players for their commitment, effort and hard work throughout the year.<\/p>\n

Our Club AGM took place on Friday, November 7th, 2025, and was very well attended. Chairperson Tom Boland, in his address, gave a comprehensive overview of the year\u2019s activities and achievements from U6s right up to Senior level. He thanked all coaches and players for their hard work and dedication, with a special mention of the tremendous effort and support that made this year\u2019s Walkathon such a success.<\/p>\n

Tom, after five years of outstanding leadership, and Caitr\u00edona, following many years of dedicated service, have both made an immense contribution to the club. We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to them for their commitment, hard work and the positive impact they have had in driving the club forward. As a token of appreciation, Tom was presented with a gift by Treasurer Donal Ryan, while Caitr\u00edona received flowers from Barry Grace.<\/p>\n

The Under-15 camogie team played their final group-stage match on Sunday in MacDonagh Park against Burgess. In a highly competitive and sporting encounter, Burgess came out on top with a scoreline of 4-9 to 1-5. Aisling Ryan, Emily Harmse and Aoibh Cahill were on the scoresheet for Nenagh. The team now advances to the knockout stages of the competition in the coming weeks.<\/p>\n

Nenagh \u00c9ire \u00d3g Members Hit the Trails in Templemore for Event No. 2 of the November Five x Five Challenge<\/h2>\n

On Saturday, November 8th, a group from Nenagh \u00c9ire \u00d3g were on the move once again, this time heading to Templemore Town Park for Event No. 2 of the Healthy Club November Five x Five 2025 Challenge.<\/p>\n

Templemore proved to be a fabulous location, with most of the route winding through the woods and along the lakeside. The park, rich in history and natural beauty, provided the perfect backdrop for a morning of fitness and fun.<\/p>\n

A big thank you goes to Tom, the Parkrun Director, and all the volunteers who helped make Saturday\u2019s event such a success.<\/p>\n

His overall goal is to raise \u20ac5,000, with \u20ac1,000 going to the Dillon Quirke Foundation and \u20ac1,000 to Nenagh \u00c9ire \u00d3g.<\/p>\n

In a fast-paced 5 v 5, four-quarter (4 x 10 minutes) game of Social \u2018Ground\u2019 Hurling on the Astro this week, the non-bibs team emerged victorious with an 11\u20138 scoreline.

The non-bibs held the lead at the end of each quarter \u2014 and crucially at the final whistle \u2014 thanks to two goals from Conor Hayes, one apiece from Martins Gleeson, Hogan, and Jamie Kennedy, and an outstanding six-goal \u2018hat-trick\u2019 performance from Mick Hutchinson, the night\u2019s top scorer.

Grace O\u2019Brien Adjusts to \u2018Global Stardom\u2019 After RT\u00c9 Documentary<\/strong><\/h2>\n

There\u2019s fame, and then there\u2019s Grace O\u2019Brien fame<\/em> \u2014 or at least that\u2019s how the Nenagh \u00c9ire \u00d3g and Tipperary camogie star now sees it. Ever since her appearance in the recent RT\u00c9 One documentary Camogie: Inside the Championship<\/em>, Grace has reportedly been \u201cstruggling\u201d to deal with the pressures of celebrity life in Nenagh.<\/p>\n

<\/div>\n

Locals say she has been spotted strutting through town with oversized Prada sunglasses and her hoodie pulled up, doing her best to stay \u201cincognito.\u201d When asked if anyone had actually approached her for a selfie or autograph, one bystander said, \u201cNot really, but she looked very busy power walking from Bamba Square to MacDonagh Park, so we didn\u2019t want to disturb her.\u201d<\/p>\n

Grace, with two hoods up in an effort to avoid being recognised, shields her face from the paparazzi.<\/p><\/div>\n

Since the documentary aired, Grace has also developed a new signature drink \u2014 a Dirty Chai Latte from Steeples \u2014 which she claims is her \u201cgo-to celeb order.\u201d Staff at the caf\u00e9 say she now wears her sunglasses indoors while waiting for her take-away cup, just in case someone recognises her from television.<\/p>\n

In one memorable scene from the RT\u00c9 documentary, Grace was interviewed outside her home with her boyfriend Kevin Hassett, where she casually referred to their house as \u201cOur Crib.\u201d During the same interview, she gazed lovingly into Kevin\u2019s eyes, calling him \u201cmy babe, my bae” and could be heard whispering, \u201cHe’s soooooo dreamy\u2026\u201d.<\/em> The pair have since been dubbed \u201cthe Posh and Becks of Nenagh\u201d \u2014 though by Grace more than anyone else. \u201cWe\u2019re basically Ireland\u2019s power couple now,\u201d she allegedly joked, before checking if anyone nearby was filming.<\/p>\n

Sources close to Grace claim she\u2019s been comparing her newfound fame to that of global superstar Taylor Swift. \u201cGrace reckons she can\u2019t even go for a coffee in peace anymore and has to wear her hoodie,\u201d said a friend. \u201cThough in fairness, most people just think she\u2019s cold and forgot her hat.\u201d<\/p>\n

The camogie ace is said to have started signing sliotars \u201cjust in case\u201d she gets recognised and there are rumours she\u2019s considering hiring more security for her next trip to the clubhouse. \u201cIt\u2019s the price of fame,\u201d she reportedly told a teammate, while sipping her Dirty Chai Latte behind dark Prada sunglasses.<\/p>\n

Despite her new celebrity lifestyle, Grace continues to train hard with both Nenagh \u00c9ire \u00d3g and Tipperary. When asked if her teammates treat her differently since the documentary, one replied, \u201cShe doesn\u2019t do warm-ups anymore, just meet-and-greets.\u201d<\/p>\n
