Presentation <\/h3>\n

As part of the Nenagh \u00c9ire \u00d3g Community Friendly Lotto, Club Treasurer Jim Nagle presented a cheque for \u20ac500 to Noel Power Chairperson Silver Arch Family Resource Center (FRC).<\/p>\n

Previously known as North Tipperary Community Services, FRC provides community-based support, information and advocacy services to individuals, families and groups in North Tipperary with a particular focus on those who are most disadvantaged.<\/p>\n

The donation will go directly to funding play therapy services. Our Community Lotto was first started in June 2020 and since then Nenagh \u00c9ire \u00d3g have donated over \u20ac7,500 from lotto funds to local charities.<\/p>\n

Remember when you play our lotto you are also supporting charities in the area. <\/p>\n

Community Walkway Update <\/b><\/h3>\n

Nenagh \u00c9ire \u00d3g is thrilled to announce that the club has <\/span>been awarded<\/span> \u20ac69,000 from the Community Recognition Fund by Tipperary County Counc<\/span>i<\/span>l, which will<\/span> support the development of<\/span> our<\/span> planned community walkway. This funding marks a significant step forward in our efforts to create a safe, accessible, and high-quality exercise facility for the entire<\/span> community.<\/span><\/p>\n

The planned 2.5km walkway will connect St. Conlon’s Road with Stereame and has <\/span>been designed<\/span> with everyone in the community in mind. The club is working with Tipperary County Council because the proposed route for our walkway is part of the Nenagh Urban Cycle Network Plan from the National Transport Authority (NTA). This route <\/span>is also highlighted<\/span> as a key link in the Local Transport Plan for Nenagh.<\/span> Once completed, it will offer a <\/span>safe walkway<\/span>, fenced, and illuminated route that will be available<\/span> all<\/span> year-round. The walkway will not only serve as a vital exercise space but also as a critical link in the local transport infrastructure, making it <\/span>a valuable asset<\/span> to the town of Nenagh.<\/span><\/p>\n

Nenagh <\/span>\u00c9ire \u00d3g is committed to making this project a reality, but we recognize that it will require a collective effort.<\/span> <\/span>To <\/span>deliver a truly first-class and safe community walkway,<\/span> the club<\/span> will need to secure added financial support.<\/span> However, the Club plan to <\/span>begin<\/span> with our section of the project as soon as funds are released.<\/span><\/p>\n

Line Dancing <\/b><\/p>\n

Classes start on Monday 16th September at 8.00pm<\/span> in the Nenagh \u00c9ire \u00d3g Complex and will run until December.  Suitable for all ages. Pay as you go: \u20ac5<\/p>\n

Line dancing is a fun, sociable and effective way to strengthen your legs, core, and upper body muscles; boost your endurance; and improve your memory, balance & coordination.<\/p>\n

November FIVE x FIVE Challenge<\/b><\/p>\n

Are you looking to get active, try running, or just improve your fitness?<\/p>\n

This is the perfect opportunity to start!<\/p>\n

We’re launching an eight-week training plan designed for people of all ages and fitness levels, especially those new to running or returning after a break.<\/p>\n

With our gradual plan, you’ll work your way up to a 5K run at your own pace, starting with walking and slowly building up. It’s all about feeling good, improving your health, and reaching that achievable goal of a 5K! Junior C <\/h3>\n

Our Junior C hurlers enjoyed their first match of the season against Kilruane in Cloughjordan yesterday. The home team pulled ahead towards the end of a fiercely contested game but we can take many positives from it. It\u2019s great to see some familiar faces and new players joining this team.<\/p>\n

Their next game is on Sunday morning against Ballinahinch in Nenagh. Time is TBC. Best of luck to players and management. <\/p>\n

Under 9 boys travelled to Thurles on Saturday afternoon<\/span>, where they took part in a County hurling blitz. They played two games in Dr. Morris Park and their final game in Semple Stadium! Nenagh’s three teams were very competitive in all their games against Moyle Rovers, Kilruane, Ballingarry and Carrick Davins. It was a brilliant experience for the boys, with memories for life! <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

On Saturday morning<\/span> last our Under 11 hurlers travelled over to Cloughjordan for the Paddy Quinlan Festival of Hurling. Both of our teams  put in great performances against local teams Borrisokane, Moneygall, Burgess and Kilruane McDonaghs. Huge thanks to John and all involved in organising the tournament over in Kilruane. A really well organised event and we were delighted to take up the invitation. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Camogie Notes <\/h3>\n

Intermediate<\/b> <\/p>\n

We played Boherlahan\/Dualla on Friday evening<\/span> last in McDonagh Park in the championship third round. Although we were missing some players through injury, their replacements stepped up well for Nenagh. Boherlahan came into the game having won both their previous games with ease. Unfortunately we conceded 2 soft goals in the first half to come in at half time 3-7 to 0-6 down.
\nThe Nenagh girls upped their game and worked their way back into the match in the second half. We had some great play to bring the lead down to 6 points with 10 minutes to go. However, Boherlahan finished the stronger and got a fourth goal and some points in the last 5 minutes to win 4-14 0-13.<\/p>\n

We now play our re-fixed game at home to Toomevara on Tuesday evening at 6.30pm<\/span>, before our quarter final at the weekend.<\/p>\n

U16 <\/b><\/p>\n

We welcomed Holycross\/Ballycahill to Nenagh last Wednesday evening for our co championship group match. Holycross came out with a fine running game in the first half and stuck in 2 goals to leave them just a couple of points behind at half time. The Nenagh girls had a purple patch at the start of the 2nd half and put away 3 goals of their own to kill off the game and ease to a comfortable win.<\/p>\n

Next up is our final group game away to Drom & Inch on Monday evening, best of luck to players and management. <\/span><\/p>\n

U13 <\/b><\/p>\n

We played a very good close game with Lorrha. Eventually losing out by 3.8 to 3.5<\/span>. Next up for the girls are Burgess in Nenagh on Wednesday night<\/span>.<\/p>\n

Tipperary U13 County Development <\/strong><\/div>\n

Well done to Naoise Kelly, Aisling Ryan and Jenny Talbot from our u14 panel who played in the Co u13 Development Tournament in Borris-Ileigh on Sunday afternoon<\/span>. The club are very proud of the girls who will hopefully go on to represent Nenagh \u00c9ire \u00d3g at county level in the years to come.<\/div>\n

U10 <\/strong><\/p>\n

Travelled to Newport on Saturday morning<\/span> with two teams to play in the Mary Troy Memorial tournament. We beat Boherlahan in the final with a great score from Lauren Bourke to win it for Nenagh. Lauren was also player of the tournament.
