Dean Ryan Final<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Congrats to Nenagh CBS on their great win in the Dean Ryan U17A final on Friday last, a first win in this competition for the school.<\/p>\n

Special congratulations to the Nenagh \u00c9ire \u00d3g boys on the squad \u2013 Emmet Jones, Billy O\u2019Brien, Daniel Connolly and Daniel Quinn and to mentor Philip Hickey, well done to all on being part of this great achievement.<\/p>\n

Handball<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Congratulations to Sin\u00e9ad Meagher from Nenagh Handball Club who received one of the An Garda S\u00edoch\u00e1na Coiste Siamsa Sport Star Awards over the weekend.<\/p>\n

These awards recognise and celebrate the amazing achievements of individual Garda Members in their sporting endeavours – below is the piece posted by An Garda Sioch\u00e1na about Sin\u00e9ad: <\/p>\n

Sin\u00e9ad Meagher\u2019s proficiency in handball commenced at the early age of eleven under the stewardship of her uncle, Eamonn Spillane.<\/em><\/div>\n
 <\/div>\n
Sin\u00e9ad was also heavily involved in camogie in her early sporting years and joined the Nenagh Handball Club with a view to improving her camogie hand\/eye coordination skills.<\/em><\/div>\n
 <\/div>\n
Little did she know that her handball training and commitment at that time would lead her to many national and international competitions and successes.<\/em><\/div>\n
 <\/div>\n
Sin\u00e9ad has competed on the handball world stage for many years and highlights her gold medal in the under 19 singles World Handball Championships in Minnesota in 2018 as her best sporting achievement to date.<\/em><\/div>\n
 <\/div>\n
As recently as February 2023, Sin\u00e9ad competed in the US Handball Collegiate in Tuscon, Arizona representing An Garda S\u00edoch\u00e1na and taking home the gold medal in the Ladies Open Doubles alongside her handball partner, Niamh Heffernan, currently studying at University of Limerick.<\/em><\/div>\n
 <\/div>\n
Sin\u00e9ad\u2019s handball journey has amassed many high level accomplishments including two world gold medals and three silver medals in both single and double disciplines. She has also attained fifteen All-Ireland medals of various colour throughout her career and most recently secured a gold medal in the women\u2019s intermediate doubles representing County Tipperary with her partner, Roisin Cahill. Sin\u00e9ad will compete in the All-Ireland senior rank competition in 2024.<\/em><\/div>\n

We played a very close game against Ballina this Sunday gone losing by only 1 point.
\nOur minors have had a great season so far and displayed excellent camogie, the club is very proud of the efforts of the team and management.<\/div>\n

\nGAA Healthy Clubs <\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/div>\n
Our women’s strength classes for beginners continue each Thursday in the complex from 8-9pm. Classes are \u20ac12 and teenagers attend free.<\/div>\n
