North Junior B Hurling League<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Well done to our Junior Bs who recorded a 3 point win over Borrisokane in Round 2 of the Junior B league on Friday evening last. The final score was 3 \u2013 11 to 2 – 11 with the Nenagh goals coming from Aodh\u00e1n O\u2019Connor (2) and Christopher Ryan, all in the first half.<\/p>\n

We now play Kiladangan in the final group game on Sat evening next at 7pm in Puckane.<\/p>\n

Co Senior Hurling League<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Our seniors finished their Co League campaign on Sunday last with a 3 \u2013 21 to 14 point win over Kilruane MacDonaghs. Conor Ryan scored the first goal on 20 mins with Conor Hennessy and Philip Hickey scoring the other two in the second half.<\/p>\n

With the league now complete, attention turns to preparation for the North and County Championships.<\/p>\n

Lotto<\/strong><\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

There was no winner of this week’s lotto jackpot. The numbers drawn were 1, 11, 13 & 22<\/p>\n

    Scrap Metal Collection Fundraiser<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

    Nenagh \u00c9ire \u00d3g will be holding a Scrap Metal Collection in July – dates and times for drop off are outlined below. This gives plenty of time to organise any scrap metal that you have and drop it to us in July.<\/p>\n

    On the 20th of May, at approximately 4pm, Rory Best will be walking through Nenagh Town.<\/div>\n
    Rory is walking 300km to raise \u20ac2,000,000 for Cancer Fund for Children Ireland.<\/div>\n

    The 2023 \u00c9ire \u00d3gres, proudly sponsored by EBS Nenagh New Mortgages Nenagh,<\/strong> resumed on Saturday morning last. The sun beamed down on the newest \u00c9ire \u00d3g stars as we had a morning full of fun and games on the club astro.<\/p>\n

    We are very excited to see everyone again on May 20th at 10am for our final morning of the \u00d3gres camp which will include presentation of t-shirts by club senior stars. <\/p>\n

    Under 9<\/strong><\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

    Under 9 boys played their first hurling blitz of the year against the Silvermines in Dolla on Monday evening last. Both teams showed off their excellent skill level and it\u2019s great to see the improvement in the boys in such a short period. Thanks to Silvermines for hosting. We played Burgess in a hurling blitz on Monday evening and travel to Roscrea on Friday evening for a Go Games blitz. Training continues at 10 to 11.15 on Saturday mornings on the outside field. Mid-week training is on Tuesdays from 6pm to 7.15 for football and hurling. We love to see new faces coming along, boys born in 2014\/15 are very welcome to come and give it a try, contact Alan on 087 7518789.<\/p>\n

    Tuesday evening training for hurling at 6pm followed by football at 6.45. We will also have hurling training on Friday at 6pm. All new boys are very welcome to come along and give it a try, contact Cathal on 086 0806460.  <\/p>\n

    U13A football team were beaten in the county semi-final last week despite a very dogged effort from our boys. Attention now turns to hurling with training on Tuesday and Friday (unless there is a match). New players always welcome, contact Niall on 087 408 6439.<\/p>\n

    Nenagh Eire Og U13A group who were defeated in the Co Semi Final by Boherlahan last week. <\/strong><\/p>\n

    Hurling training this week is on Tuesday at 6:15, Thursday at 6:30 & Saturday at 3:00. <\/p>\n

    Under 17<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

    Under 17 boys were beaten in the county league by Kilruane last Monday evening. A late Kilruane surge put a lot of daylight between the teams.<\/p>\n

    Last weekend the squad went to Galway for a challenge game v Castlegar followed by a team building day. We played a very enjoyable challenge match against Castlegar which resulted in a high scoring result of 5-17 to 2-19 in favour of Nenagh. The game was followed by a few hours in the Pure Skill centre.<\/p>\n

    Next match is against Gortnahoe on this Wednesday night at 7pm in MacDonagh Park, Nenagh.<\/p>\n

    Congratulations to Jake Houlihan, Billy O\u2019Brien and Caylum Fogarty who all made Tipperary U16 Hurling panels in 2023. Everyone in Nenagh \u00c9ire \u00d3g are immensely proud of the boys, the dedication and  hard work they put in is a credit to them.<\/p>\n

    We wish the 3 boys all the very best as they start their All Ireland Campaigns over the coming weeks.<\/p>\n

    We played Knockavilla Kickhams in the U16B League final on Wednesday evening last week. Two evenly-matched teams played out a very entertaining match that went down to the final whistle. Unfortunately we could not find the winning score and Kickhams won out by 3points, It was a tough result to take. Well done to Knockavilla on winning the final.<\/div>\n

    \nThe Coaches want to thank all the girls for the huge effort they have put in so far this year. Moving from division C to B is hard enough, but to reach a final at the first attempt is a great achievement.<\/div>\n

    Rhiannon Jones played in U15 blitz in Clogheen against Limerick and Galway. <\/strong><\/div>\n

    Laura Nagle was successful against Cork in the Munster U17 Development Final, coming home victorious from The Ragg Camogie Grounds with the final score of 1-11 to 0-09.<\/strong><\/div>\n

    Finally the Tipperary Senior Camogie girls won the Munster Championship for the first time since 2010 on a score line of 1-26 to 1-09.<\/div>\n
    Grace O’Brien gave an excellent account of herself in the Munster Final on Saturday, scoring 4 points from play as corner forward (13) and beating Clare in Semple Stadium to become the first Nenagh \u00c9ire \u00d3g player to win a Munster Championship. <\/div>\n
    Congratulations to Grace, her Teammates and the Tipperary Camogie Management.<\/div>\n
