Co Final Jubilee Team<\/strong><\/p>\n

Delayed by two years because of Covid, the Nenagh \u00c9ire \u00d3g Co Champions of 1995 eventually had their day in Semple Stadium last Sunday when they were honoured by the Tipperary Co Board on Co Final Day.<\/p>\n

Events started with a reception in the Dome and continued on with the players and management team taking to the field to be introduced to the crowd between games. Later that evening proceedings continued in the Abbey Court Hotel in Nenagh where a special function to mark the occasion was organised by the Co Board for the group, their partners and officers of the club. Here each panel member was presented with a framed photograph of the group taken earlier in the day in Semple Stadium, a lovely momento of the day.<\/p>\n

Our thanks to Tipperary Co Board for facilitating this special occasion – it was great that all involved could get together to remember the great days of 1995.<\/p>\n

    Condolences<\/strong><\/p>\n

    We extend our sympathies to the family of Martin O’Meara who passed away earlier this week. Martin, originally from Tyone and living in Naas the last number of years, hurled at all levels with Nenagh \u00c9ire \u00d3g. He won many titles with the club at juvenile level but the highlight of his playing days was undoubtedly the winning of a Co minor hurling title in 1969, a first for the club. He went on to hurl throughout the 70s at senior level and retired from hurling in the early 80s. Ar dheis D\u00e9 go raibh a anam.<\/p>\n

    Weekly Bingo<\/strong><\/p>\n

    The club are planning to run Community Bingo in the \u00c9ire \u00d3g complex during the winter. This will take place on Sunday nights and we are looking for volunteers to help run this \u2013 if you are interested in getting involved one Sunday night per month please contact Matt Lillis 087 6813605 or Anne Kennedy 087 1336024. This should be a great social event for our community through the winter months.<\/p>\n

    JUVENILE NEWS<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

    Under 9<\/strong><\/p>\n

    The boys concluded a fantastic season with great fun and excitement over in Nenagh College last Saturday morning, very well deserved after a great year. This group will now take a break from training for a while until the New Year and recharge the batteries. Any of the boys born in 2013 will move up to the U11 grade when we return next year, those born in 2014 will remain at the U9 grade. <\/p>\n

    Overall it has been a really positive year, they are a really great bunch who are a pleasure to coach. We hope that over the coming years that every one of the boys will remain with us through all various age groups up along, each achieve their individual potential and eventually line out with our adult teams for many years to come. <\/p>\n

    It is really important that the boys remain active over the winter months, please encourage a little bit of hurling and Gaelic practice over the winter months too, it all helps!<\/p>\n

    Finally, thanks to you as parents for your encouragement, bringing the boys to training and to matches from Templemore to Limerick and everywhere in between! It is much appreciated and vital in helping to improve and develop the boys into achieving their potential. <\/p>\n

    A final word of thanks to Cathal Farrell, Erica Flanagan and their wonderful coaching team whom were tremendous in their organisation, coaching and developing these young stars, sincere thank you to all who helped out in any way during the season. <\/p>\n

    This weekend we will have a final day of matches on Saturday 29th with the visit of Fingalians from Dublin. This will be from 10.30 to 12.30. It will be hurling matches for the first hour and football for the second hour. They have very big numbers so we would hope to have everyone there to wrap up a very positive and enjoyable year. We will have food and refreshments in the hall after for our visitors.<\/p>\n

    Under 13<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Under 13 boys will be entering the upcoming Michael Hogan tournament on Saturday October 29th in Cashel, any boy from this group who is interested in playing drop a text into the U13 WhatsApp group.<\/p>\n

    Seniors<\/strong><\/div>\n
    On Saturday the seniors played the Silvermines in the County Shield Final in Portroe.<\/div>\n
    It was a very competitive match with some great camogie played by both teams. The Silvermines scored an early goal to take the lead which they held throughout the match. At halftime the Silvermines went in ahead 2.05 to 0.08 and were still 3 points up with 5 minutes left. Nenagh pushed hard for a goal to level the match during this period however the Silvermines broke up the field to score another goal to finish 3.11 to 0.14 winners.   <\/div>\n

    Hard luck to our u13 girls who made a very long trip to Ballingarry on Sunday only to come up short against St. Pat’s.<\/div>\n
    As always, the girls gave 100% but it was not our day. <\/div>\n
    Thanks to the two Caitrionas, Criona and all the mams who have looked after them through this league, and thanks to all the coaches who have helped out on the sideline.<\/div>\n
    Thanks to all the parents and families for making the long trip down on Sunday to give great support, and for bringing the girls to training and games over the last few weeks. They have put in a long year of hurling and many are playing other sports etc. so we will take a break now for a few weeks.<\/div>\n

    Exercise Class Fundraiser<\/strong><\/div>\n

    As you know we are hosting fitness classes every Wednesday at the moment in the complex and it’s pay as you go and very popular.<\/div>\n
    Here’s a chance for you to try out the fitness class in the \u00c9ire \u00d3g Complex on Wednesday the 2nd of November. If you do then your \u20ac10 on the night will go to the Camogie Club!<\/div>\n
    So come on, give the class and try, usual crew welcome as normal and we’d love to see new faces and a crowd on the 2nd to raise a few \u20ac\u20ac\u20ac for the club. 1hr workout for women! Kids over 10 are welcome also. (Kids go free).<\/div>\n
