Senior<\/strong><\/p>\n

Well done to our senior hurlers on their 3 \u2013 19 to 1 \u2013 17 win over Kilruane MacDonaghs in Round 3 of the Co SHC on Sunday. Our goals came late on with Jake Morris getting two and Cian Crowley scoring the other. This win secures second place in the group and a place in the Co Quarter Final.<\/p>\n

Development Update<\/strong><\/p>\n

Work is continuing on the development of our new full sized pitch with the fencing work complete and the site now secure. This phase of the development is due to be completed by the end of September. To fund this, the club is offering packages on club membership for individuals and families –  please contact any club officer or committee member for more information or if you would like to support this fundraising project. Many thanks to all who have donated to date.     Our Community Friendly lotto was launched in June 2020 and since then we have donated \u20ac4,500 of our lotto funds to local charities so when you play our lotto you are also supporting local charities.<\/p>\n

    All our current members should have received their receipts for last year\u2019s draw – these contain the brochure for the new draw which starts in September.     Club Development – Phase II Funding<\/strong><\/p>\n

    In order to achieve the next phase in our development goals for our club a number of fundraising options including bank account details have been circulated to the juvenile groups in the last few weeks. If any of these options suit you and you wish to participate please contact Anne Kennedy (087 1336024) or John Tooher (087 950 0912) with a WhatsApp message so that we can organise your receipt and Enda Long can then record your new membership details.<\/p>\n

    Under 5<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Our little boys continue to train at 10 a.m. on Saturday mornings, we are moving to the astro pitch to train for the next few weeks and we will be organising a few blitzes for early September. The boys have great fun and we would love to welcome any new boys who would like to join in. Any boys born in 2017 are welcome to come along and try training out, any questions call John on 087 1365053.<\/p>\n

    Under 7<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Our Under 7 boys played a hurling blitz against Roscrea on Saturday morning in Nenagh where both teams showed great skill and determination throughout! Well done to all involved and thanks to Roscrea for travelling. We travel to Ballina this coming Saturday for a hurling blitz. Training continues Wednesday evening from 6-7pm and Saturday mornings from 10-11am on the outside field unless we are involved in a blitz. New players are always welcome to come along, so any boys born in the years 2015\/16 please come along. For further information please contact Alan on 087-7518789.<\/p>\n

    Under 9<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Our Under 9 boys had three really competitive games against Toomevara on Saturday morning last. Great skills on show from both sides and great improvements each week from our lads, well done boys! Thanks very much to Toomevara for hosting us and we hope to return the favour in the coming weeks.     Our Under 11 boys played Shannon Rovers in Nenagh last weekend and Templederry away on Monday evening. Training continues on Tuesday of this week for hurling and football. New players born in 2011 and 2012 welcome to come along and give it a try. Contact 0874086439 for more details.<\/p>\n

    Under 13<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Our Under 13 A and C panels both played Newport in Newport last week and both teams came away with well fought wins.  Following a great second half performance, the C panel lost out to Ballinahinch in a hard fought game on Monday evening, they now have a bye into the quarter final where they play the losers of Newport and Templederry on August 31st.<\/p>\n

    The A panel will play Roscrea this evening, Tuesday August 23rd, in a preliminary quarter final game. Training continues on Wednesday and Friday at 6.30.<\/p>\n

    Under 15<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Our Under 15s played Lorrha Rovers Gaels on Thursday evening in Lorrha, after a stern test Nenagh managed to come out on top. Next match is against Newport on this Thursday at 7pm in Newport. Training continues Tuesday and Thursday from 7-8 p.m. <\/p>\n

    Under 17<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Our Under 17 hurlers had a great outing last Monday night against Ballina. Ballina started brighter and for much of the first half dictated the game. Nenagh \u00c9ire \u00d3g backs and goalkeeper were resolute and managed to prevent Ballina racing into a bigger lead than they had at half time. By midway through the second half, the boys drew level. Heading into injury time Ballina led by two points but Nenagh \u00c9ire \u00d3g were awarded a last minute free, Tipperary county minor captain Sam O’Farrell stepped up and rifled it to the back of the net. With time just up, a one point victory was a very satisfactory outcome to an entertaining match. We have now drawn Newport in the quarter final to be played on Wednesday 31st Aug in Ballina. U17 training continues every Monday and Wednesday at 6.50 pm unless there is a match. <\/p>\n

    Seniors<\/strong><\/div>\n
    Our seniors began their championship in earnest at the weekend and were defeated by the reigning County champions Drom-Inch.<\/div>\n
    Alanna Morris  scored a goal and two points. Grace O’Brien scored a point. The work rate by this young Nenagh team was very good and they never stopped trying but ultimately they were up against a much stronger and experienced side. Next match is at home to Annacarty at 6pm Saturday the 3rd of September. Come out and support the girls. <\/div>\n

    It was a mixed week for our minor girls who were defeated by a strong Newport team in McDonagh Park on Wednesday last and then played out a good win against Burgess Duharra on Monday night – the score in this game was 4 – 3 to 4 – 1. Well done girls.<\/div>\n

    We hosted a County Blitz in Nenagh on Saturday welcoming U8 teams from Toomevara, Kilruane, and Roscrea. Well done to our U8 girls who were the stars of the show.<\/div>\n
    Thanks to Deirdre McDonnell and Paul Ryan who organised everything to run smoothly and to everyone else who helped out to make it a memorable blitz for all of the girls. They are improving every week.<\/div>\n
