Development Update<\/strong><\/p>\n

Work is continuing on the development of our new full sized pitch with the fencing work complete and the site now secure. This is a most exciting time for the club with this phase of the work due to be completed by the end of September. To fund this, the club is offering packages on club membership for individuals and families –  please contact any club officer or committee member for more information or if you would like to support this fundraising project.<\/p>\n

Our Round 3 game Co Championship against Kilruane will be played on this Sunday at 12.30 in The Ragg. Tickets for this game or any other games over the weekend can be bought at the link below. A tap and go service will also be available in the Ragg so tickets can be purchased at the gate with debit\/credit card – no cash will be accepted.<\/p>\n

Under 19<\/strong><\/p>\n

Our Under 19 hurlers bowed out of the championship on Wednesday evening last against a very strong Roscrea side. With only one player up to the age, \u00c9ire \u00d3g fielded ten under 17’s in the starting lineup. In the first half of the match, these young players showed their metal and matched their older opponents in all areas of the field. When Roscrea did take a slight lead they were reined back by a well worked Nenagh goal. The start of the second half continued in the same vein as the first but gradually Roscrea began to dominate the game. Nevertheless this young \u00c9ire \u00d3g side fought to the final whistle and despite a comfortable win by Roscrea this Nenagh team can be very proud of this performance which will stand to them in the Under 17 championship. We would like to thank the players and management for their dedication this year.<\/p>\n

Condolences<\/strong><\/p>\n

We extend our sympathies to the family of William Fogarty who sadly passed away last week. William was a great supporter of Nenagh \u00c9ire \u00d3g and regularly attended our games. His daughter Mary Jo has been involved in various roles in the club over the past number of years, his grandson Ben is a member of the senior panel while his brother John is a valued worker in MacDonagh Park.     Tipperary Draw<\/strong><\/p>\n

    All receipts for last year\u2019s draw are being issued at the moment by the Co Board. These receipts also contain the brochure for next year\u2019s draw. Please take time to have a look at the great prizes on offer again this year \u2013 added to the top prize for the first four draws are prize bonds. Our club promoters will be contacting all members in the coming weeks re the new draw which starts on 2nd of September. <\/p>\n

    Nenagh \u00c9ire \u00d3g Gaelic Games Youth Academy<\/strong> Summer camp<\/strong><\/p>\n

    The Nenagh \u00c9ire \u00d3g Gaelic Games Academy sponsored by Albany Home & Decor and A Sportsman’s Dream <\/em><\/strong>Gaelic Games Summer camp was held last week and it was a tremendous success with close to 100 children attending over the sun drenched few days. The coaching team in place were a real dream team with the children coming away from each day delighted with the camp. Thanks to Niall for organising the camp, to Pat for leading the event over the three days, to our county stars Sam O’Farrell, Grace O’Brien and Jake Morris for their support and time at the camp and to all the many brilliant coaches and helpers who made the camp the great event it was. Everyone at the camp also came together to wish Barry Heffernan a full recovery and we look forward to seeing him back in action for Nenagh \u00c9ire \u00d3g and Tipperary. <\/p>\n

    Our little boys continue to train at 10 a.m. on Saturday mornings, we are moving to the astro pitch to train for the next few weeks and we will be organising a few blitzes for early September. The boys have great fun and we would love to welcome any new boys who would like to join in. Any boys born in 2017 are welcome to come along and try training out, any questions call John on 087 1365053.<\/p>\n

    Under 7<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Training continues Wednesday evening from 6-7pm and Saturday mornings from 10-11am on the outside field. New players are always welcome to come along, so any boys born in the years 2015\/16 please come along. For further information please contact Alan on 087-7518789.<\/p>\n

    Under 9<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Our Under 9 boys had football games Saturday morning last v’s JK Brackens in McDonagh Park. Great effort and skills on show from the boys and three really competitive games took place. Huge thanks to JK Brackens for making the trip up to Nenagh and we hope to play them again in football later in the year. Hurling\/Football training continues on Wednesday evenings and we hope to have hurling games lined up for the boys next Saturday morning again. New boys born in 2013 and 2014 are always welcome to join. Contact Cathal on 086 080 6460 or the club social media sites with any queries. <\/p>\n

    Under 9 boys who played JK Brackens last weekend in MacDonagh Park<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Our Under 11 boys played hurling matches last weekend. On Saturday morning two teams travelled to Roscrea and on Sunday morning the other team played Borrisokane in MacDonagh Park. Despite the very warm conditions all three games were very even and keenly contested. Huge improvements from all the boys lately with all the practicing and camps. Training continues on Tuesday of this week for hurling and football. New players born in 2011 and 2012 welcome to come along and give it a try. Contact 0874086439 for more details.<\/p>\n

    Under 13<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Our A panel lost to Roscrea on Tuesday evening last in Nenagh. The boys led at half time but Roscrea found an extra gear in the second half to pull away and take the spoils on this occasion.<\/p>\n

    Both the A and C panel cames away with wins over Newport in Newport on this Tuesday evening. Training Wednesday and Friday at 6.30.<\/p>\n

    Under 15<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Our Under 15’s played Kilruane last Thursday evening in Nenagh with the match concluding in a draw. Conditions were extremely warm and the team played admirably. They play Lorrha this Thursday evening at 7pm in Lorrha. Training continues Tuesday and Thursday from 7-8 p.m. <\/p>\n

    Under 17<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Our U17s had a good win against Ballina on Monday evening last – the score in the game was 1 – 14 to 16 points with Sam O’Farrell getting a late goal from a free to secure the win.<\/p>\n

    Well done to all of our Under 17 boys who played in the Under 19 championship last week, unfortunately it wasn’t to be but everyone from this squad who played in the older age group gave a great performance on the night.<\/p>\n

    U17 training continues every Monday and Wednesday at 6.50 pm unless there is a match. <\/p>\n

    Training Monday and Thursday and our first championship match next Saturday at 6 o’clock away to Drom and Inch. A big thanks to Kilcormac Killoughey for playing us last Friday and Coolderry for the use of their pitch.<\/div>\n

    After a couple of false starts, our minor girls play their first championship game against Newport on Wednesday evening at 7pm in McDonagh Park.<\/div>\n

    The U15s lost out to Ballina in Ballina on Monday evening last in their final group game, semi finals will be coming up in the next few weeks.<\/div>\n

    U10s played Kiladangan and Toomevara in Nenagh, a great display from girls from all three clubs in the sun , they certainly deserved their ice pop afterwards. Training continues Monday and Thursday and we hope to have more games next Saturday morning.<\/div>\n
