All in Nenagh \u00c9ire \u00d3g and the wider community were shocked and saddened to hear of the sudden passing of Dillon Quirke last Friday night. We extend our sympathies to Dillon\u2019s family, friends and all in Clonoulty Rossmore GAA. Ar dheis D\u00e9 go raibh a anam. <\/p>\n

A Book of Condolences for the late Dillon Quirke is available each evening this week between 6pm and 9pm in the meeting room in MacDonagh Park.<\/p>\n

Our senior hurlers lost out to Moycarkey Borris last Fri night on a scoreline of 2 – 16 to 1 – 15, Jake Morris getting the first half goal. Our final group game will be against Kilruane which is due to take place on the 4th September.<\/p>\n

Under 19<\/strong><\/p>\n

Our U19s play Roscrea in the North Quarter Final this Wed evening at 7pm in Roscrea.<\/p>\n

Minor Hurling Team of the Year<\/strong><\/p>\n

Congratulations to Sam O’Farrell who was one of four Tipperary players named on the Electric Ireland Team of the Year for 2022. Sam was captain of the Tipperary minors this year and led by example all the way through the campaign –  his late point in the All Ireland final kick started Tipp’s revival that culminated in their famous win.<\/p>\n

Well done to Sam –  a richly deserved award.<\/p>\n

Development Update<\/strong><\/p>\n

It\u2019s all systems go at the moment in MacDonagh Park with the work starting last week on the development of the new full sized pitch. This is a most exciting time for the club with this phase of the work due to be completed by the end of September. <\/p>\n

To fund this, the club is offering packages on club membership for individuals and families –  details of the different options available are outlined below. <\/p>\n

Donations can either be made electronically or directly to any club officer or committee member.<\/p>\n

    Receipts for last year\u2019s draw are being issued at the moment by the Co Board, these receipts also contain the brochure for next year\u2019s draw.     Nenagh \u00c9ire \u00d3g Summer Camp<\/strong> <\/p>\n

    The Nenagh \u00c9ire \u00d3g Gaelic Games Academy sponsored by Albany Home & Decor and A Sportsman’s Dream <\/em><\/strong>will be running a summer camp this week from Wed 10th to Fri 12th August. It will take place from 10 to 1 each day and is for children of primary school age. If you are interested in booking, secure your place soon by texting Niall on 087 408 6439. Coaches for the camp will include Sam O’Farrell, Grace O’Brien, Jake Morris and many more of the Nenagh \u00c9ire \u00d3g senior players.<\/p>\n

    Club Development – Phase II Funding<\/strong><\/p>\n

    In order to achieve the next phase in our development goals for our club a number of fundraising options including bank account details have been circulated to the juvenile groups in the last few weeks. If any of these options suit you and you wish to participate please contact Anne Kennedy (087 1336024) or John Tooher (087 950 0912) with a WhatsApp message so that we can organise your receipt and Enda Long can then record your new membership details.<\/p>\n

    Under 5<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Our little boys continue to train at 10 a.m. on Saturday mornings on the outside field – road end. The boys have great fun and we would love to welcome any new boys who would like to join in. Any boys born in 2017 are welcome to come along and try training out, any questions call John on 087 1365053.<\/p>\n

    Under 7<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Training continues Wednesday evening from 6-7pm and Saturday mornings from 10-11am on the outside field. New players are always welcome to come along, so any boys born in the years 2015\/16 please come along. For further information please contact Alan on 087-7518789.<\/p>\n

    Training this week will be postponed due to the \u00c9ire \u00d3g camp running on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.     Under 11<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Under 11 boys had another amazing trip last week, the boys travelled to Semple Stadium to play on the hallowed ground just like their many heroes have done before. The boys played in a Go Games competition against teams from Munster and afterwards were treated to a tour of Semple Stadium and all of it\u2019s behind the scenes set up. The boys went to Thurles CBS afterwards and had some team building fun playing various games and sports. Thanks to Niall for organising the day out, to coaches Brian and Kieran for mentoring and looking after the boys for the day and also to Dermot and Sean for helping out. Training continues on Tuesday of this week for hurling and football. Hurling match in Roscrea on Saturday morning. New players born in 2011 and 2012 welcome to come along and give it a try.     Our U13A panel played Roscrea in the Championship on Tuesday evening – Roscrea came out on top in this game. Training Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday at 6.30.<\/p>\n

    Under 15<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Our Under 15’s began their championship campaign last Thursday with a hard fought win against a strong Roscrea team. They now play Kilruane on Thursday evening at 7pm in Nenagh. Training continues Tuesday and Thursday from 7-8 pm. <\/p>\n

    Under 17<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Our Under 17 team put in a very good performance against Newport on Monday night, eventually winning by 2-16 to 0-8. From the start, \u00c9ire \u00d3g set the pace with the backs dominant and forwards scoring when chances presented. With four weeks until the knockout stages this was a very positive display despite some key absences. With training now at full pace we need everyone to attend in the coming weeks. U17 training continues every Monday and Wednesday at 6.50 pm unless there is a match. <\/p>\n

    \nCongratulations to Grace Cleary and her Tipperary teammates who played in Croke Park last weekend and defeated Waterford in the U14 Blitz Final. Grace scored a crucial goal in the closing minutes. Well done Grace.<\/p>\n

    \nWe have a busy week ahead with our first game at home v Burgess scheduled for Monday evening at 7.30pm.
    \nOn Sunday at 10.30am we play Portroe away.<\/p>\n

    \nWe play Ballina in our final group game next Monday 15th at 7.30pm in Ballina.
    \nNo training this Monday due to Minor game. Training again Thursday.<\/p>\n

    \nCongratulations to our Under 12s Team 1 who played brilliantly to defeat Knockavilla last Friday evening in the League County Semi-Final at the Ragg.
    \nFinal score Nenagh 1-3 (10 points) to 2-2 (8 points). Aisling Ryan 1-1 (4), LucyAnne Cleary 0-2 (6)
    \nTeam 2 are also in the semi final which takes place next weekend. Details TBC.
