U19 Hurling<\/strong><\/p>\n

Our U19s were defeated by Silvermines last Wed evening in their final group game. The score in the game was 3\u201316 to 3\u201315 with Ben West (2) and Jamie Cottrell getting the goals. The boys put in a great performance, in particular when they were reduced to 14 early in the second half, and were unlucky to lose out with the Mines getting a late goal. <\/p>\n

<\/div>\n

Junior Hurling<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Junior As had a good win over Roscrea in the final group game of the league last Fri evening. The score in the game was 2-18 to 1-15 with Craig Hilmi and Darragh Walsh scoring the goals. This win means we topped the group and have qualified for the final of the Junior A League –  the final, against Roscrea, takes place next Saturday evening at 7pm in Moneygall. <\/p>\n

The Junior A Championship is due to start on 31st July with the Junior B Championship due to begin on 6th August.<\/p>\n

Lotto<\/strong><\/p>\n

There was no winner of last night’s Lotto Jackpot. The numbers drawn were 3, 5, 21 & 29. <\/p>\n

Next Monday night\u2019s lotto jackpot will be \u20ac6,100 – Please support our lotto by playing online through the link on the club website. The format of the lotto is changing from next Monday night when we will revert to drawing lucky dip prizes each week – there will be three draws for \u20ac50 when the jackpot is not won. <\/p>\n

The last of our supplementary draws took place on Monday night and the three lucky winners of \u20ac500 each are Seamus Cleary, John Spencer and Shane O’Gorman – congrats to all. <\/p>\n

Tipperary<\/strong><\/p>\n

Well done to Callan Scully and the Tipperary U20 footballers who beat Waterford in the Munster semi final last Thursday night. They now play Cork in the Munster final on Thursday July 22nd<\/sup> in Semple Stadium and we wish Callan and the Tipperary team the best of luck in the final.<\/p>\n

Well done also to Taurai, Sam, Mason and the Tipp minor hurlers who beat Kerry in the Munster championship last week. <\/p>\n

The Tipperary U20 hurlers are due to play Cork in the Munster semi final tonight (Tuesday) \u2013 best wishes to panel members Conor Hennessy and Sean Phelan in this game.<\/p>\n

Commiserations to Barry, Jake and the Tipperary senior hurlers who lost out to Limerick in the Munster final at the weekend.<\/p>\n

Defibrillator<\/strong><\/p>\n

The new defibrillator has recently been installed on the outside wall of the complex and is now accessible to all in the community. All groups within the club have contributed to this most important piece of equipment and fundraising will continue with the walking group climbing Keeper Hill in August to raise funds. <\/p>\n

Tipperary Draw<\/strong><\/p>\n

We had two winners in the Tipperary draw which took place last Friday night – congratulations to Denis Parker who won \u20ac1000 and Niamh Hannon won \u20ac200. The last draw in the 2020\/21 draw takes place on Fri 6th August and the new draw will start up again at the end of September.<\/p>\n

Club Development\/Hurling Wall<\/strong><\/p>\n

After all the planning and preliminary work over the past number of months, the new hurling wall started last Monday – this is great news for the club and everyone who has supported this development. Thanks to those who have been working tirelessly behind the scenes to get us to this stage – it is hoped that the wall will be completed by the end of August. <\/p>\n

We thank everyone who has contributed to this phase of our development project. Any remaining donations can be paid over to your fundraising representative, any amount is welcome and appreciated. Outstanding tax forms associated with your donation should be given to your fundraising representative along with details of the names you wish to have included on the club development jigsaw wall.<\/p>\n

Nenagh \u00c9ire \u00d3g C\u00fal Camp<\/strong><\/p>\n

What a glorious week we had to compliment a hugely successful c\u00fal camp at Nenagh \u00c9ire \u00d3g.<\/p>\n

The children welcomed some very talented & special guests throughout the week, Michelle Barry from the Nenagh \u00c9ire \u00d3g senior camogie team and the very talented Grace O’Brien from the Tipperary senior and Nenagh \u00c9ire \u00d3g senior camogie teams, Callan Scully from the Tipperary Under 20 football team and Conor Hennessy from the Tipperary Under 20 hurling team. The children were lucky enough to have Colm Fogarty as one of their great coaches for the week, Colm is from Lorrha and is on the Tipperary Under 20 hurling team. Sincere thank you to all of the stars for kindly giving their time to drop in and chat to the children.<\/p>\n

Thank you to all the parents who helped out all week in ensuring all sanitizing occurred as planned.<\/p>\n

Thanks to Robbie Foley who was on site all week.<\/p>\n

Thank you Bartley who diligently managed the car park during the peak drop and pick up times so that children were safe at all times.<\/p>\n

Membership<\/strong><\/p>\n

Membership should have been paid by May 31st to ensure that your child is covered by insurance. For Covid reasons we ask that any overdue membership being paid is put into an envelope, family details written thereon and handed to the lead coach at the training session.<\/p>\n

Lotto<\/strong><\/p>\n

The lotto has always been one of our main fundraisers and with our current club developments it is of vital importance to us now that everyone continues to row in behind our lotto and we continue to increase the Nenagh Eire Og online club lotto subscriptions. We are asking our juvenile families and supporters to play our club lotto online. It costs just \u20ac2 per week to play safely online and there are different payment plans available. If your not in, you cant win!<\/p>\n

Please choose the \u2018auto-renew\u2019 option and also help family members who may not have an online presence to join. The link to join is available on the clubs web page so please sign up now and you will be included in the next draw.<\/p>\n

We would ask all parents\/guardians to observe and co-operate with all the Covid protocols that are in place in order to ensure a safe training environment for your children and family. Please ensure you complete the Covid pre training\/match conformation on Foireann in advance of attending training or matches. <\/p>\n

Under 5<\/strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n

Training continues every Saturday morning from 10 – 11am. Anyone else interested in joining Under 5 training please contact Erica on 0868774496. <\/p>\n

For any parents who plan to take a coaching role with the Under 5 group must complete two steps, firstly Garda vetting must be completed and secondly an online Safeguarding course – details as follows:<\/p>\n

Under 7<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Under 7 boys squad is continuing to grow with 38 boys involved now and always ready to welcome more new faces. <\/p>\n

Training continues on Tuesday evening, 6-7 pm and Saturday mornings from 10-11am. <\/p>\n

Under 9<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Under 9 boys travelled to Newport on Saturday morning for a football blitz. The boys played very well and enjoyed the games.<\/p>\n

Under 9 hurling training continues Tuesday 6-7pm and Saturday 10-11am with football training on Wednesday 5.30-6.30pm. <\/p>\n

Under 11<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Under 11 boys had three teams out in action last weekend, the Navy team played Portroe, the Blue team and the Nenagh \u00c9ire \u00d3g team both played Kilruane in Nenagh. It was a blistering hot morning for the Kilruane matches and the boys played really well especially given the heat of the morning.<\/p>\n

No training on Tuesday evening as the boys play a football match against Ballina in Ballina, details to be circulated on the whatsapp group.<\/p>\n

Hurling training will be Wednesday evening instead this week @ 5.30 and Friday at 6.00pm. New players are always welcome for either code. Great to see new faces joining over the last few weeks and we look forward to seeing more new boys.<\/p>\n

Under 13<\/strong><\/p>\n

The U13A group will play Toomevara in the hurling championship on Tuesday night in Toomevara. Training continues for the U13s on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday evenings.<\/p>\n

Under 15<\/strong><\/p>\n

The U15s are due to play Borrisoleigh this Thursday in Borrisoleigh at 7.30. Training continues on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.<\/p>\n

Under 17<\/strong><\/p>\n

The U17s lost out to Toomevara in the 2nd round of the U17A Championship on Mon evening. The score in the game was 5-21 to 2-17. Training continues on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.<\/p>\n

The seniors lost out to a strong Annacarty side in Annacarty last Friday evening. The team now face the Silvermines at 8pm.on Tuesday evening in the Quarter Final of the league.<\/div>\n

Nenagh 2 welcomed Gortnahue to town on Thursday evening last. Unfortunately Gortnahue were short on numbers, and so we gained our first 2 points in the league. We played a very entertaining challenge game instead, well done especially to the Nenagh girls who very sportingly played with Gortnahoe. Next up we play Newport 2 on Thursday evening at 7.30pm.<\/div>\n

C\u00fal Camp <\/strong><\/div>\n
Niall Cahill was the driving force once again this year behind the success of the C\u00fal Camp. On behalf of the Nenagh \u00c9ire \u00d3g Camogie Club we would like to note our sincere thanks to Niall for organising and coordinating the camp.<\/div>\n
Well done to the 160 children on their behaviour all week. We are very lucky in the club with them. <\/div>\n
The coaches were very good this year also and very helpful. It was great to have Caoimhe Connolly, Conor Hennessy & Conor Tierney from the club coaching. Thanks to the under 14 girls that helped us out all week especially with the youngest groups. Thanks to our county players that visited. Thanks to the parents that volunteered to ensure the camp was well supervised and ensured hand sanitizing regularly took place. A special thank you to Robbie Foley who was present for the the full week helping out. Another special thank you to Bartley Ryan for ensuring the safety of the children at the entrance to the car park all week. Thanks to Eileen Kennedy for helping out each day at check in making my job much easier. Thanks to Elaine O’Brien for capturing lots of photos of the children during the week to give an insight into the fun that went on. <\/div>\n
There is a small box of lost & found in the shed on the outside field. If anyone lost anything they can look there during training. The children sat in pods in the same place in the stand all week so if anything is missing it is most lightly with someone from the pod so you can ask on your child’s training WhatsApp group to see if anyone brought home some gear by accident. <\/div>\n

A total of \u20ac488 was raised in the hour for The Children’s Ark Paediatric Unit, University Hospital, Limerick. We were delighted to have Gr\u00e1inne Beattie and her mother, Tanya drop by to support the Club’s fundraising efforts. Well done Gr\u00e1inne on motivating us all to support this great cause. <\/div>\n
